#1 Cochran Kia is really #1 for me and my family! I took my 2014 Kia Optima in to have some details looked at and the manager let me keep my car there to check on the recalls. He called me right back to say that my engine had failed one of the test, and that it would have to be replaced! Naturally, I was worried about changing something so important on a car. He let me talk to the mechanic and said that Kia would replace the whole engine, for free, and that it would still be under warranty for the next 5 years. I was happy that they reassured me that everything would be fixed. The manager said that he didn't want me to worry, since I was pregnant and had a two year old, so he put me in a 2018 Kia Sorento until my car was fixed! I have never been to another dealer where they would care about your well being like that. I just got my car back the other day and it is running perfectly!! I would have NEVER known about my engine needing to be replaced if they wouldn't have taken the time to look into the recalls for me. They took responsibility and now I have a dealer that I can really trust and respect. Not only did they pay for everything to be fixed but they gave me a solid rental and had it done in a week. The leasing process was fine, but my experience with the service department was a nightmare. They couldn't provide a loaner vehicle or get to my vehicle for two weeks. IF I COULD GIVE "NO STARS" I WOULD! My daughter purchased a Cochran Certified Pre-owned 2021 KIA Telluride with 33,599 miles on 11/26/2024. We contacted the sales person and advised them that the vehicle was blowing cold air in the rear passenger compartment. Already having an appointment to properly mount the license plate on 12/16/2024, they added the issue of no heat to the service appointment. On 12/17/2025 informed my daughter the car was ready only for my daughter to pick the car up, drive to Target and the heat never came on in the rear of the car. The car was then returned to the service department and they kept my daughter's car for further evaluation, and then informed her 24 hours later her car needed a heater box repair. While on the phone with the service advisor my daughter informed him that according to the Cochran Certified warranty agreement she was suppose to received a loaner or rental car while her car was in service. The service advisor placed her on hold to "look into this" for 20 minutes and then hung up on her. My daughter tried to reach out to the service department and advisor but they did not answer. that they did not have any loaners available so she was without a car for Christmas week 2024 and New Years 2025. Upon the return of the car it worked again for a few days and upon a colder morning heat failed to work throughout the ENTIRE car and discovered the syncing function of the climate control was not working. Returned the vehicle again for service and became concern the vehicle issue couldn't be fix. Contacted KIA Corporate and was informed according to the manual we had to give them ample opportunity to correct the issue before they would get involved. So we allowed this opportunity. Now mind you this is going on through the winters months. Fortunately the winter was not a bad one and there were warmer days than normal. But on those colder days when heating was required the issue would be revealed. Now we are up to more than three attempts to fix this heating issue. At one point we were told that a "specialist" had been called in to review the issue a still the issue returned. To shorten this calamity we had the vehicle into service 7 times as of this post to fix this heating problem. We eventually submitted a formal complaint to KIA Corporate about the issue and they responded that they would not pursue this with the dealership. Now mind you this is a vehicle in a state that is capable of extreme cold weather and the inability to be able to heat your vehicle is a dangerous hazard! and she has two children that have been exposed to this debacle. To not be able to defrost your windows present unsafe driving conditions but yet this dealership has not acted in good faith not considered even providing another vehicle to replace this damaged vehicle. We bought our 2023 SPORTAGE Kia from Getty-and that was a wonderful experience. That unfortunately has been the highlight. Afterwards we were shuttled to financing and it was a horrible , aggressive and lengthy smooze session. It would be more appreciated to be real and relatable and less pushy. We are happy with our vehicle. Getting ANY service has been extremely frustrating! As of recent you can't make any online appointments and if you call forget it-all the normal noncommittal rhetoric...."we're busy"..."down workers"..."drop it off for the day". A routine oil change could easily be 1-3 hours. It is inconvenient for people that rely on their vehicles. I have dropped my car off in the past and it still didn't get completed. I got a video text of the mechanic run thru and then when I went there it wasn't ready. How is this possible when the video was a completed job? And I had to have someone go out of their way to drive me there. Also for others ...perhaps you might suggest a loaner in the meantime. The MOST suggested alternative is to show up first thing in the morning. Well here's the thing you already lost a 1/2 hour because Service opens at 7:30AM and mechanics begin work at 8:00AM. Maybe that needs to be tweaked. Have everyone start at same time would be a huge deal! The workers behind the desk and working on cars aren't at fault - the SYSTEM in place is horrible, I suggest you address this because I see the other reviews. Have a good day! read more

I brought my 2020 Telluride in multiple times with serious oil consumption concerns well before 100,000 miles -- while still fully covered under Kia's powertrain warranty. The dealership: * Failed to open a warranty case when I reported the issue at 92,981 miles * Delayed action until 97,058 miles, when oil levels were already dangerously low * Conducted an oil consumption test but provided no documentation, protocol, or follow-up * Claimed the result at 98,149 miles (down 1 quart in 1,091 miles) was "acceptable," even though that's Kia's maximum threshold per TSB ENG222 * Misled me by blaming spark plugs as a "contributing factor" to oil consumption -- a mechanically false and deceptive claim * Failed to document a follow-up visit at ~100,078 miles where oil was once again low * Left me stranded when the engine failed at 100,698 miles, just outside warranty, now facing a $7,450 engine bill with no coverage I have now filed a BBB Auto Line complaint due to this dealership's gross mishandling and Kia's refusal to honor their own warranty standards. I do not recommend that you take your car to #1 Cochran Kia service for any moderately complicated service, especially anything taking longer than a day. Communication with the service department is terrible, bordering on non-existent, with an inability to contact a service advisor or receive a call back after numerous attempts over multiple days. If your specific service advisor is unavailable, other service advisors have no ability to tell you anything about the car and will refuse to return the car to you. If you must use this service department, I encourage you to rigorously document every interaction. If you engage with their answering service, request that you be CCed on any email. My car was having 12V battery system issues, so I made an appointment a month in advance and dropped the car off for four full business days (and two Saturdays). My suspicion is that my car was not looked at at all during this time. When I called to have the car moved for immediate pickup, they quickly rushed a diagnosis that seemingly involved opening the hood (to jump the car) and then opening the fuse box where they saw a dashcam wire. At that point, they were able to bill for two hours of diagnosis with only the suggestion to unplug the dashcam and no information about if the battery needed to be replaced. My purchasing experience a year before (from Dawn Wilson) was wonderful and I recommend her specifically, but I cannot recommend the service department. read more

Brought car in cause oil pressure light came on. Pulled over and got it towed in immediately. Their service manger called me later to say the engine was blown. Then we asked well what happened did they check the oil level first and did they determine what caused the problem and the oil leak. I had checked under the car before it was towed and there was oil under it and I checked the oil then and it was low low both things were told to the service writer when they received th car. The service writer then ignores my calls and texts. We went the next day to pick up the car and maybe get some answers. Nope no answers. They never checked the oil level before starting it and ran it there in the parking lot. It had no oil. I told them that. It was brought in on a trailer. Why would you start up a car like that in that situation without first checking if there was oil in it at all. They never even put it on the lift to determine the cause of the leak. Absolute garbage. Never buy kia never use kia maintenance techs. read more

She promptly kept in touch via text (which I like) with me for two months while my vehicle was delayed in transit (out of their control). Finding a Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige in Matte Gray/Red interior isn't easy, and I was lucky enough that they had one in transit. I paid msrp with low dealer fees (no hidden fees), while another local dealer wanted 10k over msrp on the same sticker price! I flew up from South Carolina as my local dealers were marked up as well, and I brought the bank check with me. Dawn was there to greet me on her day off and explained the vehicle to me in detail. I rarely leave reviews but in this case I feel a moral obligation. From my experience with purchasing a new vehicle, it is my perspective that Cochran uses deceptive sales practices which I believe to be unethical. They then show little to no care or regard for the customer post sale. I have voiced my grievances and given ample opportunity for a response, but the manager will not even reply to VMs or emails. This has been my only negative experience in 30+ years of buying vehicles. I caution all to NOT purchase from Cochran. The deal you think you are getting may not be what it seems or worth it. I bought a 2017 Kia Sorrento from Cochran Kia in 2016. After having the car for a couple of months. I lost engine power and white smoke came out the back. I had it towed back to the dealership. I was told that they didn't know what the issue was but told my some computer to move "Stuff" around. They did not fix the car but just made some changes to get the light off. Since then, I have been telling them I have been missing oil in my car but not leaking it and the oil light is not coming on. They refuse to offer any support but told me when the oil is out, bring the car in. You can drive a car without oil. Back in December of last year, my car did it again. it started to shut down. I took it to Cochran Kia again and was told that the code was for my spark plugs. I told the guy there were two codes not one, he insisted that there was one. I was still under warranty. A few weeks ago, I took my car back in for service. I chose one of their packages that included an oil change, cabin filter and engine filter change and tire rotation. I put in the notes that I wanted to change the coolant and to find out where my oil was going. The guy that checked in the car mentioned the coolant, oil change and tire rotation. I asked about the missing oil and he didn't know anything about it. How did he know about the coolant change without knowing about the issue with the oil? Oh they did not change the engine and cabin filters. Lets fast forward to Halloween. My car shutdown again but I was near the dealership and was able to drop it off. I was told that my fuel injectors need to be replaced. After several days, I went to the dealership to check on the car. Now I'm told that the car needs a new engine. The car is 107K miles and out of the warranty. I am aware of the recalls on the engines but Kia will not fix the car. Since I had the car, I have been telling them about issues with the engine and they would not support. Now I'm on the hook for $8700. read more

It's unfortunate when once great dealerships go bad. I've purchased 3 used vehicles from different Cochran dealerships over the past 2 years, spending well over $50,000. The first indication of things going downhill was when I purchased a $25,000 used Chevy Colorado last year. No one mentioned that the vehicle had been in an accident until the paperwork was being signed. The finance person slipped a Carfax report in to be signed near the end of the process. As we all know, at that point in the several hour process, you just want to get out of there and go home. Very deceptive practice. My latest purchase was for my daughter, a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Limited. Admittedly, I purchased this as is, expecting everything to work properly as that is the sole reason for paying a higher price from a dealership. Sadly, in just over 50 days from purchase, odd electrical issues started with dash lights flickering, the stereo not turning on then turning on unexpectantly, the air conditioner attempting to blow but no air comes out then starts working again randomly, and hard starting. I contacted my sales person and was told that I would be charged $180 to run a diagnostic. What? I would be charged to have a diagnostic run on a fairly recent purchase from the dealership I've been loyal to? My sales person tells me that he went to the GM and was told that there was nothing they could do for me. He then promised to have the GM contact me. It's been over a week with me leaving voicemail messages for my sales person and I've heard nothing from him or the GM. Sadly, I won't be buying from this organization again. read more

AWFUL SERVICE. My car was taken there on Thursday May 13th. I got an e-mail confirming my appointment for Friday the 14th for it to be looked at. It is now Monday May 17th. I've called numerous times saying I would get a call back about what is wrong with my car (which the other shop I took it to has verified that it is an engine failure - apparently Kia is known for this. Which I also have a settlement letter for, which I guess I will have to fill out now, too). I have not yet received a call. So I figured I'd stop in today and ask in person if there is an update - apparently my car hasn't even been looked at yet , even though the guy said it would be looked at 3 days ago and that I would receive a call that day. Today, they told me IN PERSON, that my car would be looked at today and someone would call me. That didn't happen either. Now this wouldn't be a HUGE issue if I did need to get to work! I should not be paying for my rental out of pocket when this is Kias fault with an engine failure - which I suppose they are taking their good ole time since it's under warranty. I paid for a rental for four days assuming they'd get back to me and have me in a rental that they should be covering - I had to take mine back today and now unfortunately rentals are now sold out everywhere. So now I have to take off of work because Kai is awful at customer service as well as communication. I will never buy from this place again. read more

Buying a car can be a extremely painful experience if you find yourself at the wrong dealership. When I talked into #1 Cochran Kia, I had just left one such bad experience at another dealership. My experience at #1 Cochran Kia completely changed my perspective on how I view dealerships. I was so pleasantly surprised by the excellent customer service, level of professionalism, the amount of time spent with us by the salesperson, and the relaxed no-pressure sales environment. Our salesperson was down-to-earth and helpful in answering questions we had along the way. My rating is one star though I'd like to give them none. After they charged me $800 to get my car stalling problem fixed, it broke down in the middle of the parkway almost three days later. They wanted to charge me $500 storage fees and their sales office wouldn't get back to me on the value to trade it in. In July of 2021, I placed a reservation on the new Hummer EV. To do so, I sent a deposit to the dealer of my choice, #0 Cochran of Robinson. Fast forward a year (July 2022), and the Hummer EV is no longer on the radar, so I submitted a request to GM to cancel my reservation and refund my money. I received a cancellation email stating that my dealer has been notified of the cancellation. After a few weeks, I call Cochran, was forward to a Salesperson who never returned my call. I waited a month, called GM, and was informed that #0 Cochran refunded my deposit. The problem, not sure who they refunded the money to as it never appeared on my credit card. A dealership has and uses your money for a year and that is not long enough, so they stoop to lying to General Motors. Every interaction I've had with this staff from the time I purchased my car has been handled horribly. -Pushy sales guy -trust me I'm a woman sales partner -gave my insurance the wrong VIN(I was uninsured for almost 30 days) -complimentary remote start, show up for appointment and they don't have the equipment. -They tried to make it right and pick up my car so I wouldn't take another day off from work but then tried to convince me to drive the loaner to them to pick up my car. -First Free oil change coupons expired before I hit 3000 miles. -They never followed up on the insurance/registration issues. Thank God the state understood when I called. I wouldn't buy a $2 Vehicle from them. After my lease I'm done! read more

Well where do I begin. My Kia Optima was scheduled to be serviced due to some engine trouble. Apparently the recall did not cover it, however, I have an extended warranty. My car was towed to the facility on November 8. I just had my car towed from KIA COCHRAN on November 30 to another mechanic because they NEVER SERVICED MY CAR. My vehicle sat in their facility for 3 weeks and they refused to answer my calls, return them, or respond to my Extended Warranty when the contacted them on November 22 & 26. Matt/Joe gave me the runaround for weeks. If Joe's wasn't out sick, Mark was busy. I have twins, one of which is Epileptic and missed servers appointments because I had no vehicle, and their car seats were in my vehicle. No guidance, no updates. No one would even set me up with a rental. My extended warranty claim was filed October 26th, and they (Extended Warranty) had to cancel the service order started because KIA COCHRAN failed to respond to what they were requesting. Then to add insult to injury, they told me I would have to pay $551.00 for a diagnostic exam. I strongly feel that I was treated this way because I am a BLACK FEMALE. I was persistent, kind, and patient and they completely disregarded my needs, as if they were doing the service for free. I would not recommend sending your car here unless you have a prominent , white , male figure that you can count on to make some noise in this establishment. read more

Third vehicle I've purchased with Jaime's help from Cochran Mazda, and he worked with Kia in Robinson to find a Sportage hybrid. The vehicle is really hard to find now, but they found one somehow which I really appreciated. Jaime is very laid back and never pushy. Day of pick up, I had to leave work in the city during rush hour, and Kia was having internet problems.
