The customer service is incredible. I had a Nick & Nick team who were very friendly and worked efficiently. They took care of my space, called ahead of time, arrived on time (same day as my request), and helped me understand the charges. I will say that the charges were much steeper than I was expecting although for return customers (which I am not) they do give a discount. I felt like a paid for a new couch in just trying to get rid of my old one. In fairness, I did agree to the price, and they give free estimates. In the future, I'll be looking for something more price competitive, but this group did the job well and in the timeframe I needed. Normally, I like to support donation services like Salvation Army or Habitat For Humanity, but I had 1-800-GOT-JUNK take anything that couldn't be donated. One area for improvement for the business would be to have online pricing estimates. I inputted which items I needed removed and just saw "starts at 49.99." I ended up paying almost 8x that price which I feel like could have been better estimated at the time I made the appointment. read more

The team leader, Joe Garcia, in Carmel Indiana, was terrific! He quickly took away my rusted gas grill, and then gave me an estimate to take away some old lumber. His estimate was reasonable, so I had him take the lumber, too. When I offered to help load the junk, he said that was their job, so just stand by and watch! A real professional! Found them via google search and confused as to why they did not provide pricing On their site, not even a ballpark estimate. Upon their arrival the day, I found out why. I was presented with their base rate of ~$138 for a 20 pound item that was already 20 feet from the truck. Ryan backed out of promise to rent equipment necessary for completion of a landscaping rock removal project that 1-800-GOT-JUNK started yesterday. We were quoted about $300 for the rock haul away and $50/hour per person labor, with a total estimate of about $1000. Two young men started the job. An hour in, Ryan showed up and begged for a reschedule, which we granted. Ryan promised he would pay for the equipment rental to better use his labor resources, looked me in the eye, shook my hand, promised the job would be done for the quoted price. Well, I researched the equipment needed, a narrow track skid loader, which is less than 36" wide and would easily access our job area and cost $350 for a full day rental. Seemed like the machine would easily handle scraping and removing rock, and the cost would save hours of tied up hard labor. Well, Ryan just had another young man who provided the estimate and started the job text us at 8:30 pm the night before our scheduled 8am appointment to tell us Ryan could not get the equipment and even if he could, they could not do the job. We could have insisted the job be completed yesterday. We didn't. We trusted Ryan to make good on the promised service. Shame on us. Do not trust this man. Call another service for your junk removal. I see the corporate response to my experience but I have not been contacted. Was that just for show? read more

I booked a 7-9 am slot on Sunday, not even realizing they don't open till 9. I got a phone call at 8:30 am apologizing that their employees don't get in till 9 so would it be ok if they arrived around 9:30. I said sure and right before 9:30 Ryan and Derek showed up. They were both friendly and went over pricing. They were willing to negotiate a fair price based on my needs and the size/weight of my refrigerator. I can't say enough about this company. Rashaun was AMAZING!! We were cleaning out the home of a hoarder. After saving what we wanted, 4 of us were dirty and tired and just wanted the work to be done. We considered renting a dumpster and doing all the dumping by ourselves. We have never used 1-800-Got-Junk before but I'm sure glad we did. We had a fairly large (and heavy) entertainment center that needed to go and no donation centers in the area would take it. GREAT JOB BY 1-800-GOT-JUNK - WITH A HEART OF SERVICE! I was helping a friend move the past two weeks. Her realtor had recommended that she call 1-800-Got-Junk. She had them out to haul away trash, which they did on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. All the employees were pleasant, efficient, and professional. The employees were Pete Stuart, Gage Moss, TJ (Tommy Jones), John Morris, and Layke. On Tuesday, the last day to haul away trash, she was suddenly left without a mover after the mover took one load, then quit! Got-Junk was there when she got the call on Tuesday, and Pete Stuart coordinated one truck to finish the trash and called for another truck to move remaining home items to storage. John and TJ then put home items into storage. They put one area under a tarp for us to move or to call back if we wanted Pete to move. We called back. The next day, Wednesday, we asked for Pete to move the remaining items from under the tarp into the truck, which Pete and Gage did in less than 15 minutes! The new homeowner was really impressed and asked for a card from Pete and asked about pricing, etc. I am so thankful that Pete was able to coordinate the move to storage! He was a God-send! And all went quickly, taking less than one hour from start to finish on Wednesday. I am definitely recommending 1-800-Got-Junk on nextdoor.com on the west side near Eagle Creek and Angies List! I really liked Kyle C. He was very nice and really broke things down for me. I will say that it was a little on the expensive side, but rather than getting a U-Haul, loading it yourself, driving to the junk yard, unloading it, and then paying whatever the dump site charges they really saved me time and money. Kyle C showed up on time, and took care of everything I asked him to. I would highly recommend this service for those with mobility and back issues, disabilities, and senior citizens. You point and they take. No questions asked other than "is this price ok?" There is also no obligation for their service. They take cash and credit card. I will definitely use their service again in the future if I need it. Also don't base your decision on using this company solely on the ONE negative review. Clearly the person who wrote it didn't read their website. Great service and hands down one that will work with you. read more

We called for a quote and was given a quote but was told that an exact quote couldn't be given until the crew was here and could figure how much room on the truck our item would take. AND... if we didn't like the price, we could simply say "no, thank you" and the crew would be on their way.... Ok... sounded good. Crew showed up and the price was $425 more than we had been quoted on the phone.... so we said "no thank you".... and the crew would NOT leave.... they haggled back and forth with my husband.... relayed to me while I was at work... they dropped their price substantially so we agreed to pay it. Hmmmm... then they decided their crew couldn't move the item in question....I couldn't tell you if that was before or after they tore up my yard.... then my husband decided to help them.... so item is loaded and they ask for payment.... my husband has big ol' fat fingers and is about as computer literate as my dog... he ended up accidentally giving them a substantially large tip.... so I called to ask that the tip charge be reversed... my husband helped move the item and they tore up my yard.... no reason to pay a tip.... The guy who runs the business here in Indy initially told the CSR that "no problem... I will take care of that charge"..... nope... he didn't.... I call back a week later.... again, the guy tells the CSR "Yep !! I will contact the customer and we will get this fixed !!"... ummmm.... nope.... he didn't.... called yesterday.... he tells the CSR "I'm on it ! Will contact them today !!"..... nope.... I am definitely not his priority.... so... he should know that the CSR has opened a "case" regarding this matter... don't know if it will go anywhere... but I guess his keeping $30-some was worth a negative review of his business...
