Delicious food at a really cool food truck! Lots of choices. The food was fresh and the atmosphere was fun! They have some tables set up to eat.

We stopped here at the end of our trip to Hana. They were very friendly and helpful picking out what to eat. We tried the shrimp Crunchwrap, steak quesadilla, pork taco, and shrimp taco. The food was great! The Crunchwrap was my favorite.

Spam & cheese quesadilla

Stopped at this food truck along the Hana Highway for a quick snack after doing some hiking and left full & happy! The food was PHENOMENAL. Super fresh & lots of flavor. Definitely recommend the spam quesadilla or the street style tacos (the photos are of pork & chicken!)

Nice little cart! Nice people, good vibes, and tasty food. Definitely worth the stop.

We thought the place was cute, service good. The salsas were particularly flavorful. I had a grilled shrimp burrito. It had very few hard to find chewy shrimp. The beans and rice were good. But, it should be called a bean burrito. Spouse had some kid of meat. Carne asada perhaps? It was dry and very little meat. Again overall the burrito was good with the fresh beans and salsas. Others in our group had tacos, none of us were wowed. Would I return? No? I would avoid Mexican food entirely as Maui does not generally do it well.

Churros! Sweet and cinnamon-y

How could this be rated #8 in Hana for tacos and the #1 listed has 3.7 stars...?!? Really?? Anyways ... this place is THE BOMB!!! Consistently GREAT, excellent prices and generous portions. Always makes an impression when you see a ton of Hana locals in line to eat!! We are from "the other side" in Kihei and we don't miss a chance to eat here whenever we are in town! I love the gringo fish taco and the coconut limeade- my husband loves the HUGE crunch wrap! We have tried a lot of things and really nothing disappoints! Don't miss an opportunity for FANTASTIC Mexican food on Maui- of which TJ err is really slim pickin's!! VERY cute decor, cutest truck and the menu is a bunch of signs all hand done and really colorful. The picnic benches are turquoise!! And they even epoxy-d them to keep them really nice and easy to clean! Absolutely recommend- it a DONT MISS rating for us!!

Grilled fish tacos

Amazing grilled fish tacos. Shaded areas to sit & eat. Great music being played on big speakers.

Veggie quesadilla with pickled onion and a coco-limeade

So glad we stumbled on this place in the little food truck court! I'm vegetarian and my friend is vegan, so traveling with normal eaters can be difficult. First of all this taco truck has the sweetest pup lounging about and accepting belly rubs! Second, they were so sweet and friendly-- explained patiently the vegan and vegetarian options. I ordered a veggie quesadilla (came with pickled red onions--one of my favorite condiments and a delicious not-too-spicy chipotle sauce) and a coco-limeade that was the most refreshing drink I think I've ever had in my life. My friend ordered the veggie burrito and the staff were so kind to alter it so it would be vegan. The food was phenomenal! This truck is tucked away behind some of the other food trucks, but you can't miss the fun vibrant turquoise colors and don't forget to pet Mochi the dog!!

Chicken taco, Al pastor taco and bean and cheese burrito.

This place was AMAZING. We stayed in Hana and wanted something easy on the way out for lunch. After looking at the menu, I chose this place. I had a chicken taco, Al pastor and a bean and cheese burrito. Seriously some of the best tacos I've ever had. I've been to Mexico throughout my entire life, in the local areas. And I live in Vegas, where we have amazing Mexican food. So that should tell you how tasty this place is! Def go try them out if you're in Hana.

We were driving the Road to Hāna and had this place recommended to us. Wow was it a great recommendation! The gringas chicken tacos we got were possibly the best tacos we've ever had anywhere. If we were hungrier we would've eaten more than one each for sure! We also split a chicken quesadilla and it was also possibly the best we've ever had. The service was amazing and so friendly. Menu looked great, wish we'd gotten more! Nice area to eat as well. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Neat spot, excellent scratch food quality (3pm on a Saturday).
Ryan H.

Chill vibes, great people, and excellent quality fresh/scratch food. No beer, so stop at the convenience/grocery nearby and BYOB. Love this place, will definitely come back while we're here.

After checking the other food trucks, about 4 or 5, that share the lot with Da Fish Shack, I walked back to this one because I love fish and wanted to try the seared fish (ahi) plate on the menu, and also because of the friendly and warm aloha welcome I received when I approached this food truck the first time and asked questions about their menu which was answered unhurriedly and politely. The grilled ahi was very good - well seasoned, tender and a good portion, without the $$$$ price tag of restaurants in the town of Hana. I also enjoyed the homemade chili and pineapple sauce, and vegetable that came with my ahi. The owner also gave me a nice size sample of poke which was really fresh and delicious too! We ate at a covered picnic table which is clean and provided shade from the sun. I should mention it is an outdoor seating so keep your food covered to keep flies off your plate. A minor nuisance. Also, if you need a bathroom break, there are public restrooms in the beach located 15 minutes from this food trucks stop. Make this your stop after the Hana heavy drive and help support small local businesses! It is a good thing!

Two perfectly cooked eggs with that runny yoke, two hamburger patties, onion, rice, and a generous portion of gravy. All of that combined made a great lunch. If you're not starving, then there's enough to share for two. One of the best Loco Mocos we had on our trip. They're located in an area with multiple little food trucks, and they have plenty of tables in the middle to enjoy your food. There's a little parking lot nearby - we didn't have any problems finding a place to park. Their hours are not necessarily on a timetable - I don't think they opened until an hour after what they said online. But if you can make it while they're open, then it is totally worth it.

Both the wife and I decided on Joel's and for once we both decided on the same dish. With a quick order, we were spending some time finding a seat, and looking at some of the other vendors who are also here at the trucks. This is a great and casual place to get your food on. There are a couple of other places that you can go, but the food to choose from here at least for me is just too hard to beat. When we got our food, we were happy it's the portions of both the teriyaki beef and the garlic shrimp. I would suggest that if you get the garlic shrimp, that you have anyone else whom you plan on talking to or being closer than 2 feet from you also eat the garlic shrimp. These things are delicious but will keep vampires away for quite a while. Simply put this is a great stop to get your quick food on, easily eat in 10-15 mins and you can be on the road in 30 mins or less if your in a hurry, or like us, just soak in that glorious weather and have a great meal. The portion size was appropriate and the price is typical of what you will find on the island and keep in mind that you are also in Hana so just keep that in mind. No dollar menus here!! You find yourself on the road to Hana, stop in at the food truck area and stop and Joel's. You wont be sorry.

As someone who loves Mexican food, this is one of my favorite Mexican places on the island. TIP** whatever you get at this taco stand you have to get the red sauce to pair with your meal. It enhances all of the flavors in your burrito or tacos. Service (4/5): There were only two trucks open therefore it took over 30 minutes to order and get my food. There is limited seating around the food truck as well. Parking (5/5): There is a parking lot for the food trucks. You will easily find a parking spot here. TIP** Venmo or Cash only. I highly recommend bringing extra cash and downloading your locations on the road to Hana ahead of time because there is limited reception so you might not be able to pull up venmo or other apps.

Be sure to watch for the sign as you approach - we drove by the first time and came back to make it into the parking lot. The person taking orders was helpful and warned us right away that they were out of curry. The person who makes it measures from her heart, won't share her recipe, and was out shopping. We shared the fried rice with chicken and some spring rolls. It was all so delicious, and fun to sit on the deck and watch the road and town while relaxing after the crazy road. My real praise starts a couple hours later. As we made it to our next stop, I remember that I had never taken my bag off the back of the chair back at the restaurant! I called as soon as we had a phone signal again, and the gentleman who answered the phone assured me right away that he'd seen it and was keeping it safe. I told him we'd be back for it the next day, and he told me what time he'd be there. Luckily for me, hubs drove back alone the next day (he loves the road, and it's more fun for him without me panicking from the passenger seat). The man at the restaurant said he'd tried to get our attention as we left, and again when we drove by after visiting the shore! I was so grateful to have my stuff back, and be able to board our plane the next day with my id. P.S. - the food and service was 5 stars even if they hadn't helped with my mix up later!
