Oooh la la! This place is sexy! A La Mode Intimates is a cute lingerie store located at the Town Center in Annapolis. I won a gift card to this store probably a year or two years ago and completely forgot about it until I was doing some cleaning and organizing and came across it. Since I had to go to Annapolis for a doctor's appointment, I decided to stop by to see if there was anything I wanted. I arrived shortly after they opened for the day so I was the only person there. The employee was very helpful as I was looking around and she even directed me to the fitting rooms and checked on me as I was trying things on. They even have infused water for you to drink while in the fitting room area. Even the fitting rooms were sexy in this place with their big curtains as doors. A La Mode offers bra fittings. I didn't ask for one during this visit because I wasn't looking for a bra at the time but I would like to come back and take advantage of this service. In addition to lingerie, they also sell products to help clean and maintain your lingerie and they even sell a few adult toys. Amazing! Took my mom (80+ years) to find better fitting bras. The woman who helped us was incredible. Professional fitting, tried on about 10 different bras, and she was super helpful and listened to my mom's preferences (comfort, easy to put on). Not only did the staff help me find flattering, functional and feminine undergarments, they even helped me get into my wedding dress so I could make sure everything looked good together. The customer service was very attentive but not overbearing or uncomfortable. Dionna is a boob magician! I have literally never, ever been so thrilled with a bra. I thought after 2020 I could never wear one again and be comfortable, but the one she picked out for me I actually look forward to putting on. WHAT?! I know. First, I was so hilariously off in my sizing and was shocked when she told me I was a 32H. I didn't know that existed. Because I'd been trying to make the utterly wrong size fit, it consequently made me uncomfortable and my clothes to never look 'right'. With these bras (cause you know I bought two) from Fantasie with the side support, the girls are pulled up and in giving me freedom of motion for my arms I didn't know was possible. LOL. Dionna listened to what I wanted and knocked it out of the park on the first try. Truly a professional! Also a total babe with cool tattoos and was great with my 3 year old. I really hate to write this review . Over the past 10 years or more I have been a loyal and happy customer but since the move to the new location things have not been the same. In the past i could always count on the bra whisperer Rebecca to find good bras that fit me well but the last couple of visits have not been so good . The fitters I have worked with are always pleasant and easy to deal with but don't seem to have the experience needed for my challenging fit . I am petite with a small band and large cup size 34I/H and after 3 children and menopause my shape has changed . Over the last couple of months I have done a lot of internet searching and the styles that are recommended for my body shape and size are not carried by the store . I was there yesterday and after trying on over 10 bras in desperation i bought a bra that was "workable " which is my own fault . Unfortunately i took the tags off so i cannot return it . I wore it today and even though it is not painful it is not a great style for me . read more

Love the new location! I have been a customer of A La Mode for a couple of years and I think the move to the Annapolis Town Center was a good one. Their store is MUCH bigger than their store on West Street and therefore they can carry more items. Because it is in the town center, it is also convenient to all of the other cool stores in the town center like Athropologie, Stella and Poppy, Lucy and Lululemon. This lingerie store has some really awesome high end stuff. It is worth the prices that you pay. They will last a LONG time and you will get great recommendations from the staff. They have never steered me wrong. They will be straight up honest with you when it comes bra fitting and won't sell you a bra that doesn't fit just right. Victoria Secret will try to sell you a bra that they mass produce, A La Mode will find your exact size and place a special order for you if you want one that fits just right. If you sign up to be on their email list, they will send you updates on great sales and gifts for your birthday. I won't lie, be prepared to drop anywhere from $60-$100 for a bra. Going shopping for bras is not high on my list of fun things to do, but sometimes it is necessary. Rebecca at A La Mode made the experience almost pleasant. We had made an appointment for a bra fitting and within minutes, she had me measured, listened to my many criteria (comfort, no underwires, comfort, and comfort) and was off to find suitable bras. Rebecca was diplomatic, friendly and knowledgeable. I'm over 60, fluffy, and generally grumpy in a feminist "why-do-we -have-to-wear-bras-anyway" manner about this whole corset culture, but Rebecca was unphased by my grousing, listened well, and came back with bras that took my preferences into account. My niece had come with me as an advisor (and probably to make sure I walked out with decent bras instead of giving up and wearing the old rags that I currently own). The fitting room was private and large enough for two people to sit comfortably and view the bras from all angles. In the end I walked out with three new bras of different styles. I was really surprised that I found that many. And yes they made my clothes fit better and look better. And shockingly they were fairly comfortable. If you feel you need new bras but are not looking forward to the shopping experience, I do recommend you make an appointment with Rebecca at A La Mode. She will help you find what you want. My only suggestion is that the store carry more bras in white or neutral colors. I did get a beige one, but two of the bras that I liked the most only were available in my size in black or gray. It would be nice to have had those in more neutral colors for wearing under light colored clothes. read more

I went to A La Mode during a bra-fitting party scheduled by a friend. The shop set up wine, cheese, grapes for us and we had amazing attentive service. Their new location at the Annapolis Towne Center and it is gorgeous. Bright and airy, yet romantic. The sales area is broken into little rooms which made shopping more fun, and you felt less on display when fingering a lovely charmeuse camisole or reading about nursing bras. Through curtains is their lounge. They set up a lovely little spread for us of brie with crackers and grapes, wine and ice water. They had a couple chairs, a couch and coffee table that were surrounded by gigantic fitting rooms with large mirrors and flattering lighting. Rebecca assisted me; she whipped out her tape measure and in about three seconds flat had measured me over my shirt. From that she brought me a bra to try. I didn't look at the brand, I didn't look at the size, I just tried it on. And I was amazed. My breasts looked smaller, firmer, younger. I had a waistline! It was a completely different size from what I had been wearing - more comfortable, more supportive, amazing. Rebecca checked the bra on me, informed me that the straps shouldn't really be doing the support (which I do, tightening my straps in an attempt to lift), the bra itself will do the work. She showed me how the band should sit low on my back, not up near my shoulder blades - this prevents your skin from pouring over the bra, and also helps with support. She asked me my bra needs and came back with a couple more to try. I got plenty of time to try on by myself, I didn't feel as though a salesperson was breathing down my neck, yet if I just said, "Rebecca?" she was right there to bring a different size or color. For the first time in my life, I was able to find a strapless bra that supports and is comfortable. They didn't have the bra I wanted in a nude color, but took my name and number and offered to call when it was in stock. This was a life-changing experience, far different from fittings at Nordstrom. I stopped in on a daytrip to Annapolis, hoping to finally find a bra that fit after an 18 month (literally) search. I was more than pleased with the service I received, and with the bras I ended up purchasing. The saleswoman took my measurements, helped me with the fit, and made me feel really comfortable throughout the process. She explained some differences in how French versus American companies design and fit bras (the French are kinder to the well-endowed), showed me where the various straps of the bra should actually sit on my back (much lower) and my shoulders, and eventually sent me home $135 poorer, but with two bras that have comfortably fit under daily wear for the last two years. Their merchandise is pricey, but it is absolutely worth it. I couldn't be happier with my purchases, or with the service I received at A La Mode. My only regret is that two years later, my bras are starting to get a bit tired and since I now live 549 miles away, I won't be able to go back to A La Mode for an updated fitting. read more

I finally stopped in today after hearing rave reviews from all of my girlfriends who'd already gone. I've been fitted before - at Victoria's Secret and Soma - but my experience here was the the absolute best. I will never shop at either of other two stores again. Both of those tried to fit me into what they stocked, which it turns out were not even close to my actual size. Seriously, HUGE size difference. A La Mode gave me a genuine size and then tried to find me the perfect bras. If they weren't in stock, they offered to either special order or let me know when they were back in. For the first time I have bras that truly fit and are both sexy and comfortable. The size they put me in at this store was not something I've ever tried before, and the difference was amazing. When I got home and modeled for the bf he agreed that the bras were perfect and a huge improvement over all my others. I spent about an hour trying on all sorts of different bras the awesome attendant (I wish I was better with names, I would highly recommend seeking her out) brought me, each chosen based on my personal preference and body. She also found me some super awesome lingerie to surprise the bf with! The store is great - very nicely done with a great lounge / changing area. Close to a lot of great stores and restaurants (Parole Shopping Center) so it's easy to make this an excursion. If you're looking for it, the store is on the ground floor near the Anthropologie, Poppy&Stella, and Lulelemon. The bras aren't cheap - $60-$100 seemed the average range, but are very much worth it. Bras are one the most basic and important foundation garments a woman will ever own. I can't recommend them highly enough and can't believe it took me so long to get there. I was so used to stuffing my melons in padded push up bras that display them in all of their perky glory. So when it was time to use them as they are intended to be used - organic, free-range milk dispensers - I was kind of freaking out. I came here about 3 weeks before my due date to try on some nursing bras and was assisted by an older woman (her name escapes me). She did a wonderful job with showing me the selection of nursing bras and tanks ranging from cute to more practical. I will say that her customer service skills were lacking. After I decided on which items I was purchasing, she left the fitting area and just disappeared to the stock area. Another associate saw me sitting around for about 15 minutes before she asked if I needed anything. Apparently she left my belongings at the front, but never told me. I also saw other customers being offered water and I was big and pregnant (during the summer, I might add) and wasn't offered any. So dock a star off for that. My son is 6 weeks old and these nursing bras and tanks are durable, comfortable, practical, and so necessary! Only store around where I can find my bra size (34FF). Every time I go, the staff is always friendly and helpful. I like that they sometimes offer for me to try on a different type of bra which is my size to branch out my options. I love their new location it's so much more convenient compared to their old location on west street going into downtown Annapolis (always terrible parking down there). From my first appointment with Rebecca I was treated like a queen and walked out looking and feeling 10 lbs lighter in a more beautiful bra than I could have imagined as a girl with a larger bust. This weekend I went in for nursing bras and was, once again, blown away. I was impressed not only by the service, but by the knowledge provided at my appointment by Rebecca. I'm 53 years young and a bra off of a sale rack doesn't do the trick anymore. After surfing reviews, I thought I would give this shop a try. I'm not a small woman (XL to 1X) and wasn't sure if they would be able to fit me. When you first walk into the store, you notice that the "showroom" area is both tastefully and minimally stocked. My first thought was, "This won't work.They don't have a large supply and they probably only carry smaller sizes." However, a lovely woman named Valerie, greeted me immediately and asked how she could help me. I told her I was looking for a bra that would comfortably fit my no longer 21 years young body. She knew exactly what I meant. She took me into the back fitting area. Unbeknownst to me, and others who peek through the store windows, there is a large dressing/changing area in the back stocked with cabinets full of bras. Valerie took me into a fitting room, measured me, and visually sized me up. This is old school and the way it should be done. A person with experience doesn't fit a bra by numbers only. They pay attention to the shape of your body and breasts and know that some of their brands will fit your shape and some definitely will not. Valerie brought several items into the room and let me try them on, all the while explaining my shape and needs when it comes to an appropriately fitted bra. She was patient, thoughtful, a good listener, and very knowledgeable. I was very grateful for her exceptional customer service and kind nature. I walked out of A La Mode comfortable, confident, and utterly amazed that the prices were reasonable. I am sure they have many items that were quite a bit more expensive. The beauty of it was that she didn't attempt to steal my paycheck. She focused on what I wanted and needed and educated me on how my bra should fit. This was a wonderful experience and I will return. I had heard SUCH good things about this place, but was incredibly disappointed when I finally stopped by yesterday. It's very possible that I just got a dud of a salesgirl. I told her that I was there to buy my first nursing bras and tanks. She brought me to a dressing room and then started bringing me things to try on. She never asked what size I was. She never measured me for a fitting. She just started bringing me bras, tanks, and sleepwear (and I wasn't there to buy sleepwear...). The first couple bras she brought me fit well enough, but they were made of stretchy material and would most likely accommodate many different sizes. However, then she started bringing me bras that didn't fit. I'd tell her, this one is too tight and the cups are too big. At one point I told her a bra was too tight and she re-adjusted it to the largest hook setting and then asked how it felt. Um.... I don't want to get a bra pre-baby that needs to be on the largest hook setting -- a nursing bra needs to be able to accommodate changes in size! She continued to bring me poorly fitting bras, and I finally suggested that we measure me so that we could get the right size. She responded, "naw, we're getting there" !!!! Everything I had heard about this store praised them for their bra-fitting abilities. "We're getting there" is NOT how to fit someone into a bra! It was a waste of my time and a test of my patience. I ended up leaving having not bought anything and I will not return. I gave a second star only because the brands they had are all the ones I've heard are the "nice" brands. So... I guess they carry quality merchandise, but don't always have quality customer service. read more

After being super unhappy with my VS bras, I decided to start with some internet research via Reddit. I found my size this way, but after buying a few bras on the internet and immediately shipping them back, I knew I needed a place to go in and try things on. So, I was directed to this place. Mind you, this is during the pandemic, so I was wary of going into any store. However, I called, set up an appointment and my fears were gone once I heard about their safety measures: all employees and customers wear masks, they have an 8 customer limit, every other dressing room is used and cleaned between customers, the bras are steamed after trying on, and I'm sure I missed some other precautions as I am listing them here. So, I got there and Rebecca helped me out with everything! She was so knowledgeable and kind and patient as we talked about what I wanted and I tried on probably 30-40 bras. I never felt pressured to buy and they have such a good selection! They had a lot of UK and European brands I wanted to try since those brands have better sizing (32F!). I was entirely comfortable the entire time and made three purchases, with a few notes for next time. I am 100% making this my new place to buy bras (they price match and return for store credit too!)! *This place does sell high quality, higher priced bras. These will not be like your typical Target or even VS bras! However, you get what you pay for!! read more

It is a nice small shop with lots of inventory, but I am not sure they know what they are doing. I have been fitted, bought what they suggested and then been very unhappy with the fit after wearing once or twice. I felt pushed to make a purchase. Last week I went in and one saleswoman had such an ill fitting bra on under a snug top that I didn't trust her to help me. The other saleswoman had undergarments on that were way too tight and you could see a ton of lines --my thought was , if they cannot size themselves, how can they help me? This place was fabulous and not as pricey as I expected. If you have problems finding a bra that doesn't gap or that fits correctly, this is the place to go. The fitter was able to measure me quickly and I only tried on about 4 bras before I found one that worked better than any other bra I had ever tried on (this is coming from someone who used to only buy Victoria's Secret bras and was very dissatisfied). The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful and they had a great selection of very nice bras. I was able to get two bras, one for daily use and another extra "fun" bra, all for under $130. Such a great experience. After wires from two of my everyday bras started poking me, I decided to get properly fitted for good bras and invest in myself a little. I asked friends native to this area where a girl would go for this type of service and they all shouted in unison "a La Mode!" Two days later I walked in and my life was changed. I'm cheap; I admit it. I've been buying $17 bras from Target. Unfortunately it's obvious. The fit is bad, the look with clothes on is bad, and they just don't provide enough support. a La Mode came to my rescue. I walked in without an appointment and was immediately welcomed into this cozy, comfortable store. There are tons of bras and intimates but I didn't even look for myself. I simply turned myself over to the willing, friendly associates who had me tucked into a lovely, spacious fitting room and measured within minutes. In the blink of an eye the associate brought me a bra to check sizing, then she brought a number of others and helped me into each of them. Now you might think that's a little odd but this place and the associates are totally professional and legit and it was actually a joy to be pampered by having someone hook my bra and adjust the straps. I'd love someone to help me with that every morning :) Within a short amount of time I had three bras in hand, all my numbers and preferences stored on file, and I was outta there. A few days later I exchanged two of the bras for different sizes and colors and that process was easy and quick as well. But please note that the return policy is store credit only and the tags MUST be attached still. So please do wear them at home for a bit with the tags still on. Sit, stand, bend, do your every day thing wearing them to make sure they're the right fit before you cut the tags off. I can't believe how much better I look with these new bras. Everything fits better, everything is lifted to where it should be, and I look like I dropped 20 pounds just from getting new bras. I will definitely be back. The bras are pricey but they seem like good quality so I'm hoping they'll hold up longer than cheaper bras. It was so worth it and I'll definitely be back for more. read more

The interior of the boutique was nicely decorated and visually appealing. The fittings rooms we spacious and warm for visiting customers. The lady who helped me was very nice and pleasant. She measured me so we knew my correct bra size and explained the different types of bras I could try on. I liked a few of the bras I tried on but only ended up getting one because the prices were out of my budget. I'd go back again but probably only when they were having a sale. A friend at work recommend A La Mode for their nursing bra selection. Three weeks postpartum with baby #3 I was determined to find good nursing bras this time. With my new baby in tow I headed in, only for him to start and not stop crying. As I was trying to calm him, Patty offered to take him so I could try on bras. It took a bit for my little guy to stop fussing but Patty didn't mind one bit and eventually he slept on her as she walked him around the store. Any mother can relate to how tough it is to get out of the house and accomplish anything, especially while in that newborn sleep deprivation stage. I felt extreme gratitude that for her selflessness and willingness to assist with my new addition. Rebecca measured me and brought me multiple nursing bras to try on. She was very knowledgeable and helped me trouble shoot fits, adjust the straps for me and gave me a few pointers in general on bras. I walked out with a great sport bra style nursing bra and will be headed back to pick up a regular nursing bra in a few weeks when the shipment arrives with my color choice. I have always loathed bra shopping and never had a nursing bra I liked with my older two children.
