For us we just wanted a quick dinner after a long day caring for some senior members of our family. Two items: Bitter Melon with Fish Fillets comes with rice and soup of the day. Very good stir-fry technique with "wok hei", the melon was done just right and not over cooked, also the fish was tender and the coating was not too thick. Good choice if you like Bitter Melon! Singapore Friend Rice Vermicelli, also has a good "wok hei" as you can see from the photo, there are loads of ingredients, the curry flavour is just right without being over powering. This is your quintessential neighbourhood eatery that serves up good old honest food at a very reasonable price!

I've walked past this place a couple times over the last few days, and wondered what was inside. Nice to know it was worth going to. Had a typical Chinese sit-down dinner, non-banquet style. Had: some kind of soup rice - not congee. More like Chiu Chow congee, but in a superb broth. This soup rice was topped with mixed mushrooms, fish paste balls, some veggies, etc. It's a sick person's ultimate comfort food. Four plates of assorted veggies - tong choy, bok choy, Chinese lettuce, etc. Each of them were super fresh and delicious. Crispy beef brisket - this is one of the funkiest things I've had in Hong Kong. This is my second time having it (the first was at Golden Bauhinia). It's braised brisket (wonton noodle style) that's been coated in a thin batter and deep fried. The way Affluent Kitchen does it, the brisket is tender and the fried layer on the outside leads to a very interesting, and extremely unique mouth feel. Sweet and sour pork - it was a tad sour, but not bad. Garoupa and tofu in hot pot - fish was good. Tofu was soft and had that lovely fresh tofu taste. Some kind of almost honey garlic deep fried fish slice with onions - I'm usually not a fan of sliced fish, because I feel like they salt it and tenderize it and it makes it not taste like fish. This tasted like fish. Good fish. You could tell they sliced it off of a fish. Minor bones. Served with crispy little fried noodles. Specialty soy sauce chicken - this chicken tastes the way soy sauce chicken should. It also tasted like my grandpa's super expensive pigeon at Tai Ping Koon. Speaking of pigeon, they have it here, roasted, for $58 HKD. We wanted to get one to do a taste comparison between a $58 HKD pigeon and a $140 HKD pigeon, but they did not have pigeon that night. Sad. This place has pretty decent prices. Most of the dishes we ordered were in the $70-80 HKD range, making it on the lower end of Yelp's HK $$ range. Service was good, and the place was clean. Side note: They have the coolest plates. Their plates have two notches in them specifically so you can put your chopsticks down and not have them roll away from you. Brilliant.

We got 4 different dishes: - Curry pork chop (very mid - don't get it, it's not good curry) - Satay beef noodle (ok la, decent) - Scrambled eggs with roast pork (good, runny push eggs and roast pork has good flavor) - Scrambled eggs with truffle shrimp (delicious! Best selection!) Milk tea was ok. Wish it was stronger. #yelpinHongKong

I saw a picture on IG for Cafe Seasons for their pork chasu scrambled eggs over rice with soy sauce. I've been on a cha chaan teng mission so I had to try this. My friend and I shared the chasu and egg over rice and tomato soup macaroni with beef slices. The tomato soup macaroni also came with a plate of scrambled eggs and white toast. Chasu and eggs rice plate: We ate earlier in the day so I wasn't that hungry but I had to try it. I really enjoyed this - another comfort food winner! Eggs were scrambled perfectly and it went well with the sweet chasu and soy sauce. Tomato soup macaroni and beef: I tried a little bit of the soup and I found the soup to be sour and the macaroni too soft for my liking. I believe that this is the Chinese version of tomato soup when you're sick. It's not my thing so I'll pass on this next time. Scrambled eggs with toast: Creamy scrambled eggs on toast was also very good. I managed to eat one slice of toast with the scrambled eggs and couldn't eat any more for the day. Cafe Seasons is well lit (not like the look of the dead everyone has at Australia Dairy Company) and servers are efficient and dare I say friendly. I liked the chasu egg rice plate so much I went by myself two days later :)

Some of the staff came off a bit rude, but I didn't let that stop me from enjoying my breakfast. I ordered the Preserved Cabbage and Shredded Pork Rice Vermicelli with Scrambled Egg and Butter Toast, and Self-made Glutinous Rice with Chicken. The rice vermicelli was pretty standard, but I really liked the glutinous rice with chicken. It was not only stuffed with chicken, but there were also BBQ pork, Chinese sausage, shrimps, shiitake mushroom and lotus seed. It was packed with flavours, and honestly the best glutinous rice with chicken I've ever had. A very delicious and inexpensive meal.

We also got a bowl of rice each. That came to $92 at dinner time, which is reasonable for Tai Hang at dinner but also seemed a bit pricy. Still, the meat mountain was delicious, with the perfect amount of salty egg to spread through each bite. The place itself is 3 stars but that yummy dish gives it a bump to 4.
