I really wanted to see what the hype was all about. The tallest building in Hong Kong. Yeah, there should be an amazing view....but is the food good? Ummmm....YES! (Very good, might I add).
My SIL made special arrangements with the captain to customize a menu for our special night. Although he wasn't working the night of our reservation, he made sure his staff knew exactly what was in order. They did. Wow! So impressed.
For starters the night view was spectacular. I mean, if you want to see HK at night, THIS is THEE view from 101 floors high (if you're not afraid of heights, that is).
From the delicately assembled "ping poon" to the black truffle mushroom bean curd wrap (OMG, so good) to the perfectly blanched choy to the amazingly flavorful (full of texture) sizzling rice soup (they take it to another level), I had no complaints about the food. Although it was shooting out the kitchen faster than I can eat, we had to tell them a few times to slow it down. The dessert was alright, aside from this date rice cake. Mmmmm....
Might I add, the restrooms (last stall) even has a view of Hong Kong.
I'm starting to think maybe I should inquire with one of those folks dressed in suits stopping you every few steps, across Elements, en route to the top, what the flats (or maybe apartments) are like. Next trip.... ;)
Overall, great experience. Will definitely be back. Would love to try their dim sum. My fav is Lei Garden.
P.S. On the way up, we ran into Donny Yeh, who was doing a promo/ appearance for Hublot. What an amazing night, I'll say. read more
