But when Hong-Kongers want to treat themselves to, say, a birthday lunch, Chinese food is the last thing they want. The restaurant itself is sooooo beautiful. I instantly fell in love with the decor. Clean, modern and cozy! The large curvy wooden table is really elegant! Food presentation is also excellent. The highlight is clearly: #7 Australian grass-fed beef burger + bolognese with waffle potato fries $88. The beef is surprisingly (and extremely) thick! Like a REAL burger! oh em gee! The quality of the beef is really good, and they were able to cook it without losing its tenderness. How sad to see good quality beef ruined in the hands of Hong Kong chefs no offence. Luckily that doesn't happen here!! Others to note: - all-day-style breakfast is ok and very very filling. There's a tad too much sauce. - slow-cooked chicken shogayaki style $85 is unfortunately really small, because it's just chicken and vegetables. If you eat a lot, this is not for you. SNOBBY CANADIAN FOOD REVIEW: err the burger was really bland. The food was just ok. It's pretty tasteless but everything was cooked well. I think the missing ingredient is good seasoning. HK LOCAL REVIEW: The food is excellent!! It's the best Western food I've had in Kwun Tong. OVERALL We celebrated our CEO's birthday at this restaurant! We had 20 people that took up 75% of the restaurant. It's very small but, if you came for lunch on the day we were there, there's still a table for you! They serve single-origin coffee from Peru, if you're interested! I remember it's something like $45-50?

Sham Shui Po is known for the their abundance of Hong Kong Chinese restaurants, so add this one to the list. First of all, this restaurant is located in the Dragon Center, so its price for being a restaurant inside a mall is actually not bad. They even have afternoon tea menus (after 2pm) which includes a drink. Do note that for afternoon tea the entree portion is smaller and it excludes the soup and bread that you usually get for the full price. The food here is average, not bad not great, but consistent. Been here many times and have not been disappointed yet. Obviously I wouldn't come out of my way to come here, but if I was in SSP and was hungry at peak hours, or wanted to chill somewhere for a bit after I'm done with eating, I'd drop by Kreta Ayer.

I'd walk past this place many times but never tried it out as it always seemed busy during the lunch hour. As chance would have it, a friend and I decided to meet up for lunch and we picked Cafeholic due to the proximity to our offices. When we arrived, there was already several parties waiting in line ahead of us. We received a number from the front desk and waited about 10 minutes before we were called for a table. The table setting is simple, with utensils in a small basket on the side and a stack of napkins (YES A RARITY IN HONG KONG), salt and pepper, and a tall bottle of mint water with water glasses. I love this as it eliminates the need to ask for refills of water in a busy restaurant (something I wish Tsui Wah would do too as flagging their servers is such a chore). After we made our lunch selections from their lunch set menu, two bowls of soup appeared in one minute. Ta da! I think it was cream of carrot. Hearty and filling, good for a cold winter day. Within 15 minutes, our mains were served - Deep fried chicken with Japanese curry and Omurice and a side salad. Wow. Presentation was good and portion size quite generous. The dressing for the side salad was good too! Not just your plain balsamic vinaigrette. I wanted more! This all for HK$79, with coffee/milk tea/lemon tea. My wallet and tummy are happy! Will be back to try the other items on the menu. They also have a la carte during dinner.

The food and drinks were good and satisfying, though not especially spectacular. The beverages are your typical cafe offerings (milk tea, coffee, tea, Ovaltine, etc) but they have a few blended drinks to choose from too. The breakfast menu we enjoyed included instant noodles, steak and egg plates, toast, and macaroni soups. One of their most popular and unique items was the cheesy pineapple bun. It was alright but not cheesy enough in my opinion. The noodle soup was packed with flavor though and definitely something I'd come back for as it was quite comforting. Overall a comfortably casual spot that is never overly crowded (and you probably won't need to wait too long to be seated).

Best selection!) Milk tea was ok. Wish it was stronger. #yelpinHongKong

I saw a picture on IG for Cafe Seasons for their pork chasu scrambled eggs over rice with soy sauce. I've been on a cha chaan teng mission so I had to try this. My friend and I shared the chasu and egg over rice and tomato soup macaroni with beef slices. The tomato soup macaroni also came with a plate of scrambled eggs and white toast. Chasu and eggs rice plate: We ate earlier in the day so I wasn't that hungry but I had to try it. I really enjoyed this - another comfort food winner! Eggs were scrambled perfectly and it went well with the sweet chasu and soy sauce. Tomato soup macaroni and beef: I tried a little bit of the soup and I found the soup to be sour and the macaroni too soft for my liking. I believe that this is the Chinese version of tomato soup when you're sick. It's not my thing so I'll pass on this next time. Scrambled eggs with toast: Creamy scrambled eggs on toast was also very good. I managed to eat one slice of toast with the scrambled eggs and couldn't eat any more for the day. Cafe Seasons is well lit (not like the look of the dead everyone has at Australia Dairy Company) and servers are efficient and dare I say friendly. I liked the chasu egg rice plate so much I went by myself two days later :)

The Pulled beef Benedict is extremely lack of flavor. The poached egg has no taste as well. Overall if it is one of the signature dish, then I don't know what else to say. The Ragu Papperdalle is a bit better in taste, at least not seasoning and flavor. Honestly, not recommended for a brunch spot as price is not really cheap. Spent over $300 for two without drink.

My fav of the day goes to The pork shred is tender and flavorful, infused with a smoky sweetness that pairs wonderfully with the creamy hollandaise. Another main dish was rich and flavorful, with tender chunks of beef slow-cooked to perfection. Esp. the sauce!! Love it so much. Doused in umami yoghurt sauce, was also fork-tender, while its accompanying sauce adds a creamy texture and a hint of nuttiness. We rounded off our meal with a special . It looks aesthetic with its baby pink colour. The sweetness of the chocolate perfectly balances the natural earthiness of the beetroot!
