So I had a couple hours to kill and just walking around the mall would probably cause me to go into a coma. Found Cinema City attached to the mall and realized, "I still haven't seen Star Wars." The seating was a little smaller than United States standards, and definitely what I'm used to lately (think: giant automatic reclining chairs). However, it was definitely more than adequate. The sound was decent but not amazing. The visuals weren't stunning but got the job done. Lightsabers were shown fine. Service was decent as the ticket counter lady was patient and probably realized that we're not from around these parts. I appreciated the fact that the facilities (lobby and theater) were clean. Against American pricing standards, this place wasn't cheap.

Tried the 4DX theater. Not bad. I enjoyed it. The attempts to incorperate movement, spray, wind,…read moreetc into the movie are mostly clumsy. I often felt like I was in a cheap massage chair. When the action got going it did have an immersive effect. I found myself very much enjoying a movie I would otherwise have thought was idiotic. "Scouts guide to the zombie apocolypse". 2d 4dx (lol). Sound quality was good. Is it worth the 190hkd price? Yes, once in a while.

Looks nice enough. Located on the top floor and easy to get to from the hotel located in the mall…read more Tickets can be purchased at the counter or at screens located upstairs and downstairs. Not cheap.. even In Hong Kong dollars. Compared to movie theatres at home the seating seems a little old. And the IMAX theatre screen was the same as our normal screens. So I was a little letdown with the experience. A fun night though at the movies. Especially being able to go late at night. Adds to a fun vacation.

Last month, I went here to catch a movie. This cinema is located inside the Moko mall…read more The place looked new but I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have stadium style seating like in the States. However, I did like the snacks that they served at the concession stand. They had chocolate flavored and sour cream flavored popcorn. You can get half and half in the box. I also got curry fish balls. Quality of the food was pretty good.

Though it is marketed as a "new" cinema but in fact the facilities is pretty dated. The seating is worn out and in need of renovations. The staff though really nice and helpful. Bored while walking in the IFC Mall, my friend asked me if I have ever watched a movie here at…read morePalace before. I said no. And the next thing you know, we are buying tickets to see Ralph Breaks the Internet (WTF?) lol. IFC is a high-end shopping mall in Central, Hong Kong, so this cinema would not be anything less impressive. The tickets were $120 each, it is more expensive than other cinemas in Hong Kong. There is a full wine bar inside the lounging area. The washroom is nice and clean. There is a concession stand selling popular Asian snacks (squid balls, boneless wings, etc.) The best was the sweet caramel popcorn, I can easily eat a large lol. The only con at Palace was the size of the 'big screen', it is quite small. Nonetheless, the leather reclining seats were very comfortable. We picked seats for the very back row in House 1, and there was plenty leg room. It was like sitting on the back row but with the leg room of front row seats ;) Travel notes: You can easily get to IFC Mall via MTR Hong Kong Station

This is really a 3.5 but there aren't a lot of choices for theaters in the Central area…read more What I like: -Central location in IFC mall -Nice bathrooms -Seats are leather What I don't like: -Expensive AF. Not sure if it's Hollywood + being in the center of HK, but $300HK for 2 people to see The Justice League? Ouch, my wallet -Theater is small so if there's a popular release, it'll be hard to get tickets -Sometimes I feel they only show action films in 3D, making it more expensive. As they also charge for 3D glasses, it's best to bring your own (or keep the ones you bought from them for next time.) Other notes: -If you want a unique, non-western movie snack, they offer cuttlefish balls. -There's also a small bar here, but not sure if you can bring your drink into the theater.

PhilharMagic is a 3D movie with supplementary enhancements such as wind, scents, and water…read more This attraction pays tribute to classic animated films such as Beauty and the Beast, Fantasia, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, and more. It is my favorite attraction in Fantasy Land in any park because of the dark, cool, and windy break from the outdoors, and the showcasing of Disney songs from my childhood. I don't always need the best seat in the house, so when the doors opened and people sprinted (literally!) for the middle & center seats, I opted to use the very front row to cross over to the other side and sit in an aisle seat close to the exit. I was all alone over there, but I like that sometimes. In this case, it's because I like to sing along with the songs. As far as 3D films go, this one is tamer than most. I usually don't like 3D films but I enjoy this one. Some of the pre-show (before you enter the theater) is in Cantonese, but the entire show itself is in English. This show is a fun way to cool off. I wish it were longer!!

Mystic Manor is one of the best Disney attractions I have ever experienced…read more The ride combines incredible storytelling, unique special effects, and a beautiful soundtrack into something completely different from a typical haunted house attraction. The trackless ride system makes every scene feel smooth and immersive, and there is always something new to look at. The level of detail throughout the manor is amazing. From the queue to the final scene, Disney's Imagineers created a world that feels rich, whimsical, and full of surprises. Even our kids were completely engaged the entire time. This is a must do attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland and easily one of the highlights of our trip. If you only have time for a few rides, make sure Mystic Manor is on your list.

Large Western themed amusement park, filled with many carnival game booths, rides, and food stalls…read more There's a cover fee to get in, and all rides and games cost a few tokens (your fee pays for a bunch, and you can buy more throughout the park). If you've ever watched Mark Rober's YouTube video on carney games, you'd know most of the skill-based game booths are total ripoffs and are nearly impossible to win. However, if you wanna have a chance at winning something, I'd recommend the duck-fishing game (random chance), or any of the dart throwing games (esp the 1-hit win games). Food isn't overly marked up, which is nice. If you leave the park, reentry is prohibited. Personally, I'd recommend visiting the park at night since it can get hot and there isn't much shade, plus there's a different vibe and lighting at night. Overall, lots of fun for kids and even adults.

This is actually my secret location- so to speak. That's because this is situated in Tsuen Wan,…read morewhich is already off the beaten track as it is, moreover, this particular cinema seems to be shunned by most cinema goers and I have no idea why. This is a Broadway Cinema that's situated in the Tsuen Wan Plaza, its a small location with around 4 houses and the waiting area will tell you that this is a neighborhood do; not the local imax. The cinema has been renovated as of recent and the general feel is quite up to date. The reason why I keep coming here? Free parking is available with cinema tickets- and if you watch anything that starts after 10:30 you are almost guaranteed a seat. this is a major bonus especially if that particular film is a sell out at other locations and you are having trouble securing good seats. The further advantage of this location lies in the fact that it is filled with different restaurants and I always make it a habit of eating there before I go to the cinema. This combined convenience makes it difficult for me to choose anywhere else to go and watch a film.
