And the next thing you know, we are buying tickets to see Ralph Breaks the Internet (WTF?) lol. IFC is a high-end shopping mall in Central, Hong Kong, so this cinema would not be anything less impressive. The tickets were $120 each, it is more expensive than other cinemas in Hong Kong. There is a full wine bar inside the lounging area. The washroom is nice and clean. There is a concession stand selling popular Asian snacks (squid balls, boneless wings, etc.) The best was the sweet caramel popcorn, I can easily eat a large lol. The only con at Palace was the size of the 'big screen', it is quite small. Nonetheless, the leather reclining seats were very comfortable. We picked seats for the very back row in House 1, and there was plenty leg room. As they also charge for 3D glasses, it's best to bring your own (or keep the ones you bought from them for next time.) Other notes: -If you want a unique, non-western movie snack, they offer cuttlefish balls. -There's also a small bar here, but not sure if you can bring your drink into the theater.

The move price tickets are commensurate with the atmosphere. Tickets for 2D movie run 130 hkd and if you buy online there is a 10 hkd service fee. Definitely not cheap. I usually buy my tickets online because I like to know where I'm sitting. The process for printing your tickets is quick and efficient (just a swipe of the credit card used). The movie theater itself is nice. There is pretty good food options a full stocked bar. Each screening room is fairly compact so as long as you aren't sitting too far in the front you will have a good seat. The seats are wide and comfortable. The screen is big and makes for a pleasurable viewing experience. I have seen a number of movies here and prefer it over the movie theater at Times Square or IFC.

However, I did like the snacks that they served at the concession stand. They had chocolate flavored and sour cream flavored popcorn. You can get half and half in the box. The tickets may be a little bit less expensive but everything here is also more simple. The seats are not very comfortable and the aisles are quite narrow. There is only 1 auto ticket booth and there's not enough manpower at the normal ticket booth, so prepare for some waiting time. That's the same for the convenience store. On busy days they only have max 2 persons helping you and they only sell sweet popcorn. In Hong Kong many animated pictures are dubbed to Chinese and a lot of cinemas show both versions. Here at the Popcorn Mall they normally show only the Chinese version.

But I was worried the seats would fill up, so I went all the way to Causeway Bay and purchased the ticket in person a few days prior. I tried buying it online but I ran into some technical difficulties. To be frank, I also had trouble finding the place because Google Maps likes to make a fool out of me On the day of the movie, I arrived ahead of time but there were already a lot of people (possibly diehard fans) waiting to be let into the theater. I made my way over to the concession stand and oh my lord, the menu almost brought me to tears. Curry fish balls. Siu mai. I would've ordered all of those if I had more hands and more stomachs. I didn't so I just settled for the good ol' popcorn. The seats inside the theater were so spacious. And the cup holders near the bottom of the seat? Pure genius. Now, I don't know if all theaters in HK are like this but I'd definitely make more of an effort to go to another one when I'm back in HK.

I've actually showed up a few times without tickets hoping to get into a showing, and was able to get them without any problems (the seats weren't bad either!). The only issue is trying to get some sort of transportation home after a late showing--everyone will be competing for the same bus/taxi in the relatively quiet neighborhood.

Location Location Location!…read more At the top floor of Times Square, this is just the most convenient location to catch a movie after shopping, before dinner or whatever the reason you are at CWB. With multiple screens, you can catch all the first run movies. And the matter of fact, I was here twice in a week! The theatre is a little older but well maintained and quite spacious. After midnight, there are still handful of restaurants opens for a quick snack within walking distance.

Perhaps my review is a little biased, considering I recently watched a movie at an AMC theatre in San Diego, USA which had much wider armchairs that reclined, with leg rests that lifted up with the press of a button. The first class of movie seats! Too bad that don't have that here in HK. This morning, I found the seats surprisingly small. Narrow and a little hard. Not very comfortable. I also noticed that the large movie screen was slightly curved at the left and right edges.
