In contrast, Victoria Harbor served me a delightful hot goose with very little fat under the crispy skin. The flesh was moist, moderately soft, and tasty. Yung Kee will only serve their best geese to their VIP diners. Victoria Harbor, in contrast, will serve the exact same high quality geese to ALL their diners. Atmosphere (**** out of *****); Average large Chinese restaurant. Service (** out of *****); Because they can get really busy sometimes, their staff might be overwhelmed at times. Sometimes, you get good service, but other times, you get poor service and have to flag down the waiter for everything. Conclusion (**** out of *****); For excellent roast goose with O.K. service in a large Chinese restaurant, go to Victoria Harbor. P.S. They do not have an English menu, so bring along a Chinese speaking friend unless all you want to do is order the roast goose, "Seew Gno."

Food was above average, hints the two stars, but nothing was spectacular, hints the two stars. If you are wanting something special go to a place that specializes in that one dish. This place was good but nothing wowed me especially after seeing the bill. Would I return? Only and seriously only if a large group was torn between various types of protein. I'm pretty good and convincing people where we should eat so I'd like to think this place was one and done.

But people eat fast and leave fast, so you never have to wait too long to sit. However you can order to-go because the rice and dim sum dishes come in small size. Take to the nearby park and eat under the sun. I'm not a big fan of fun gor dumplings, to me they taste like water and are super bland. But I love them here!!! And they're huge! Packed full of meat and so flavourful. They also drizzle them with spicy soy sauce but the fun gor taste super good with/without any sauce.

I seldomly dine in and most of the times i will grab it togo and this price is very reasonable. As i had time to kill and was near by, so decided to to dine in. Taste is good as usual but cant say the iced lemon tea was good. I asked for a iced lemon tea and asked them to make it less sweet. After it arrived and I tasted it, it was really sweet. So i asked the staff that took my order to double check if this was the less sweet and she replied yet. Instead of sending it back and face a possibility of them adding a "secret ingredient" into my drink i consumed less then a 1/4 of it and left it. Would recommend this place as they somehow have mastered the nice texture of the steamed rice to my liking every time. How can you complain of marinated pork that has been placed atop of the rice and steamed together. As it is being steamed, the juices from the marinated penetrates the rice making every bit so delicious. Will definitely be back again, but no so sure if i want to dine in again as personal space can be very tight.

It is by far the best place for dim sum. I believe the restaurant previously had a location in the mall, but recently moved to this new space. The restaurant decor is very elegant. The dining rooms in Hong Kong at dim sum establishments are on a different level compared with their counterparts in North America. The attire of some of the clientele does not match the setting however. You could dine here in casual clothing and not feel out of place. I came here with my aunt on a Sunday morning. She mentioned that you have to come here early to grab a table. We did do that, but the wait was quite lengthy even though the restaurant is large. I think there were 40-50 numbers called before ours. Though at least you get your own table here, even if there is a 10% service charge. There are some dim sum places in HK where you are sharing space with others. Usually at this kind of dim sum restaurant, you expect the dim sum to be made to order where you order from a menu. In the case of Maxim's, they actually offer push cart dim sum. I was apprehensive at first since I perceive push cart dim sum to be not as good as made to order dim sum fresh from the kitchen. But the fare here easily is the best push cart dim sum that I have had. It debunked my misconception. The standout for me would be the congee with pumpkin and crabmeat. The pumpkin adds a nice sweet flavor to this dish. All of the other items were great too including the fish maw and beef balls with shiitake mushrooms. I did even try out fish heads. Usually that would weird me out, but I decided to give them a try and I enjoyed them. There were a lot of bones, but the fishmeat was tender. I did also like the accompaniment of chili peppers and tangy sauce. If you are looking for a great dim sum spot in Sha Tin, Maxim's Palace is an excellent spot. The push cart dim setup does not diminish its quality. Though be prepared for a lengthy wait for a table.
