The ferry pier itself is relatively new and well kept, but finding my way to the pier from the Wan Chai MTR station was a nightmare. Do keep in mind if you take a bus, there are some buses that stop directly outside the pier, so it would be very convenient and almost impossible to get lost if you took those buses to the pier.
From the MTR station though, it is almost a 10-15 minute, through bridges and buildings. I definitely asked for directions half a dozen times along the way. There is also construction all around the pier, so even when you're fairly close to the pier, the ferries won't stand out too much, just because of all the construction and cranes around it.
The ferry ride to Tsim Sha Tsui is longer than the ride from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central, so if you get sea sick easily and just want to take the Star Ferry, I'd recommend the Central line instead. The view from the pier is really nice, with clean and clear glass panels in the waiting area. read more
