The only remaining pier in the Star Ferry's revenue service network using its original structure*, the TST structure is the last remaining pier in Hong Kong with the iconic green and white paint and streamline moderne styling that locals so fondly associate with Hong Kong's star ferry.
Like other piers, it has entrances for both decks (though the Wanchai bound ferries have since allowed seating in the upper deck during regular hours), and it isn't air conditioned, which can mean two things: one, a very warm and muggy wait in the summer, or two, some very pleasant sea breezes.
As always, star ferry fares are dirt cheap, whether you pick the historically working class lower deck or the more "luxurious" upper deck.
If you're looking to spend a little more, their fancier harbour tours also leave from this pier on the Wan Chai side (the east piers)
*technically the original structure was built in 1906, but was destroyed by a typhoon the same year. The current structure reopened TST services in 1914. read more
