Came here for brunch as it was near our hotel…read more We came 15 mins after opening and were seated quickly. They gave us a booklet along with the paper to fill out, and most of the dim sum was the classic dim sum that I'm accustomed to. Their chiu chou fun gor was alright for me. They did put a good amount of peanuts in here but the exterior was a bit heavier on the dough side. Their siu mai and har gow were pretty good. Their cheung fun wasn't the silky light type, so I was just alright with it. Their Chicken with Sticky Rice wraped in Lotus Leaf was huge though, way bigger than those in Los Angeles. Their fresh mango custard roll was my highlight though, as they had chunks of mango in the middle and it was sweet. Would try this again. I think the one other aspect of this place is the interior is really clean, and they have a decent amount of tables inside. Service is a bit more attentive as the area isn't as large. I was most certainly full upon completion of this meal though haha.

Formerly Michelin-starred dim sum. Best suited for smaller parties since the interior is small. Mark your order down on the sheet and go to the register to pay and turn in your order. Prices seemed to be slightly on the higher side at a first glance, but our final check ended up being pretty affordable. We tried their har gow, siu mai, baked BBQ pork buns, shrimp rice rolls, deep fried pork dumplings, and deep fried shrimp wonton. Food came out fast and I was pretty happy with all the items we ordered. Overall, decent spot for dim sum but I'd probably only come back if the wait wasn't too long.

The Har gao had a very thin shell, but it also wasn't fragile. It wasn't too doughy or glutenous, and the shrimp was perfectly snappy and had a very fresh delicious flavor. I thought the same thing about the siu mai, delicate wrapper with a touch of refinement. This was a common theme for all of the other dishes as well. I thought the tea was just okay, but people seem to always get tea with dim sum so when in HK... We didn't have to wait for a table and the place is michelin rated. It may be a bit more expensive than places in the area, but that is what you get with a good reputation, marketing and a michelin rating. I will say it was nice inside and it had air con and there was some thought that went into the ambiance. Anyway, it was still affordable from an American perspective and I enjoyed everything. Give it a try.

Rating is adjusted relative to hype…read more I was excited to try their Tim Ho Wan for their dim sum, but it turned out to be mediocre. I decided on two dim sum spots to try on this trip with Tim Ho Wan being the first. I came 6 PM on a weekday and it wasn't busy, we were quickly seated as there were plenty of available tables. Since we were not too hungry, we ordered the Shrimp Cheung Fun, Har Gow, and Siu Mai. It took around 5 mins for the dim sum to come out and the food looked good. However, it really seemed like some flavors were missing the umami taste that you would expect of dim sum. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a disappointing meal, so I would recommend trying other dim sum spots when in Hong Kong.
