I'd give this a 3.5 stars actually. I wouldn't say I'm a fan because I've had better seafood dishes…read morefor better prices elsewhere. You're pretty much paying that extra $ for sitting next to the harbor (a very small harbor, as Yung Shue Wan is a very small town with only one main street!). They advertised their 4 signature dishes on the place mat, which are the lobster with cheese sauce (steamed buns optional, you can also request the longevity noodles for an extra $40), baked medium shrimp with butter, stir fry clams and stir fry pissing shrimp with pepper and salt. Because there were only two of us, we order two out of the four dishes - the lobster and the shrimp, and also a mixed vegetables with vermicelli clay pot. There were 3 types of lobster to choose from - Canadian for $26 per Chinese ounce or tael, and the other two that I forgot, but the unit price was ~$50 and $60 per Chinese ounce. Each lobster is at least more than 1 Chinese pound (= 16 taels), even the smallest one. Anyway, we wanted to try other dishes too, so we just got the cheapest kind of lobster, also we don't know how reputable this restaurant is about lobster cooking so it's better to be a bit conservative... But we're glad they cooked it perfectly! The lobster was juicy and tender with a lot of meat! The noodles tasted great too. I wish the sauce was a bit more creamy and less salty though. Their cheese sauce was not my favorite. The shrimps tasted fresh and juicy with the perfect texture. I love how they put a generous amount of onions on top which add a lot of flavor to the dish. The clay pot was decent enough, nothing special. The service was good and bad. The servers were all very friendly and helpful, but they were not attentive at all, which is not uncommon in HK... Their menus have English and Japanese too for tourists. For these 3 dishes, plus couple of beers, we spent around $1200 for 2 of us. If you wanna check out Lamma Island, I'd recommend going on a Saturday instead of a Sunday because a lot of shops in Yung Shue Wan close on Sundays, not sure about Sok Goo Wan though. We both had a great, relaxing time with a stuffed tummy, but we probably won't come back to this restaurant. Once is good. Have fun!

Now I guess there use to be a old school established restaurant From the Central Pier in Hong Kong, take Pier 4 and the ferry to Sok Kwu Wan (use your Octopus card, it cost $31HKD for the boat trip each way). When you arrive to Sok Kwu Wan (about a 20 minute ferry ride), turn left off the pier and Genuine Lamma Hilton Fishing Village Restaurant is about a 3-5 minute walk up on the left. You walk thru a restaurant called Peach Garden to get to Genuine Lamma Hilton (the restaurant sign to enter is in Chinese, but you will see the Genuine Lamma Hilton name). Make no mistake, the ambiance is basically a dump. But the seafood is fresh, it is open air right on the water and the establishment is clean by Hong Kong standards. The menu is in English and Chinese (with photos) and easily understood. Did I mention the seafood was fresh! We enjoyed scallops, clams (the buttery broth is really delicious!), squid and a fresh fish. Fresh! With a Blue Girl beer, the lunch set us back about $850HKD, but was a great experience and worth the cost because the seafood is fresh. The establishment leaves something to be desired, but this is an old school fishing village and that is exactly what it feels like. While sitting on the dock, with its charming tables and free blowing breeze, it almost felt like Mexico in many ways (short the palm trees)/. Sitting on the water, with the breeze though on a quiet Sunday was a great way to spend the day. I liked this place as well because it was away from the busy, touristy row of seafood restaurants on Sok Kwu Wan, which lacked the open air feeling and were a bit more stuffy and humid.
