( Used to live with my grandparents in the area ) This location used to be a movie theater. The first theater I went in my life. The coffee shop kept the name of the theater as their wall background. I really love the decor. I got spoiled by the nice, beautiful San Francisco weather. Hong Kong is hot to me from Jan to Dec. Therefore, I don't always have coffee in HK. I just realized I ordered the same drink : "Passion Fruit Blast" the same Pacific Coffee location. I must enjoy this drink very much. It was a great drink to cool myself down from the heat. This is a nice location for relaxing, good for resting, reading and working on your computer, etc. Staffs are able to communicate in English well.

Usually the line gets pretty long in the morning from 8:30-9 but dies down after 9:30. Service here is pretty nice and quick as well. I usually get the Chai tea latte or caramel macchiato. As usual, you can ask for skim or soy milk and they have the tall, grande, and bento sizes. One thing I have noticed about the soy caramel macchiato though is that it tastes oddly slightly bitter... And even with skim milk it tastes a little weird to me... Just not the same as back in the states... Maybe it's just the milk they use? But the chai tea latte tastes ok to me. They do have unique holiday flavors like gingerbread, toffee but, and even panettone! I was so excited for the panettone one since I love the bread! But it was kinda meh... It was just a regular sweet latte with some whipped cream and tried fruit bits sprinkled on top... Although I'm not sure really what I was expecting with a panettone latte... Anyhoo one thing that did make me really sad is that they don't have the pumpkin spice latte for fall!!!! As a basic American girl, that is all I ask for during my fall holiday season :'( Overall, just a normal Starbucks which means it is good!

The name of the delicacy translates into turtle jelly in English which obviously makes me wonder if it did. It probably does. Anyways, this dish looks like a really black jello. It is really sour so you need to put a good deal of syrup to make it palatable. I had constant sour face as I ate it. Supposedly this delicacy has numerous health benefits so it falls under the category of healthy food that doesn't taste good. Understandable since it tastes like medicine. This delicacy is not for everyone which is the case for me.

I placed my order then quickly moved to the side amongst others waiting to receive their drinks. The baristas announce the drink name, not the customer's name when the drink is served. That I realized, once multiple drinks were taken by some customers and the line grew longer because the customer who ordered the drink never received theirs. I was also one of them, as my drink didn't make way to me, but whoever took mine with their other drinks. Purposely or not, I do not know. I asked one of the baristas about my drink and she made me one that I received in less than a few minutes. The matcha espresso fusion was a nice blend of medium strength matcha and an aromatic roast of espresso. I would order this again. Not sure if I'd visit this location if I need to study or get some work done because it is quite noisy inside the mall and actually because lots of businessmen/women conduct their meeting here.

As many of you will know, I don't go in for the chain coffee stores, and certainly wouldn't look to…read morereview them without good reason. However, Starbucks in the IFC Mall has to get a mention. It is the same Starbucks as the rest of the world, so there is no point in reporting on the food or coffee, but this one in particular benefits from its location. On the second floor of the IFC Mall, it has a large "outside" (don't forget you are in a mall) area with a long and wide bench table. This is a great place to sit and while away the day. The semi-armchairs are comfortable and your squishy bits will be able to stand them for a good long stint of laptop time. You will also have a great view of both the world going by, and the expat tai-tais interviewing maids. But best of all, you can access the IFC Mall wi-fi there, which is blazing fast, but sometimes a bit patchy. Words of warning. There are no power points there, so if you need to charge, you will have to go into the store part, which is noisy with chatter and background music. The bench table is solid underneath, as in you can't get your knees under it. The place gets rammed in the morning, at lunchtime, and at around 6pm, so you may be a while getting your coffee. Word of warning, none of the baristas understand the difference between "tall" and "two", so use appropriate finger gestures. Go for the comfy seats, stay for the wi-fi (and coffees if you have inadvertently ordered two)...

The line to order forms outside and once you place your order and get your receipt, move to the back where it is inside space connected to a retail/office space (kind of odd). The drinks I tried were so refreshing on a hot day and loaded with delicious toppings. However, I still need to try their soft serve ice cream.
