This is one giant tourist trap. First of all, you need to wait for the tram to go from the bottom of the hill to the top. The average wait for a weekday evening (say around 5 PM) can be anywhere from one hour to two hours. My friends and I had limited time, so we skipped the tram experience and paid for 60 HKD and got a taxi to go up.
The tram ticket price is listed here,

Once we got to the top, you follow the queue and slowly make your way up the escalators. There, you get to the top floor and get in line and prepare to pay for another 52 HKD for the entry fee. (I ran out of cash very quickly in Hong Kong, so always bring some money with you.) Fortunately, Octopus Cards are accepted here.
After we made to the rooftop, it was so crowded, and everyone is fighting to get that perfect selfie. The view is gorgeous and stunning, but I am not sure if it is worth the price. Of course, it is the touristy thing that you must experience when you travel. Yet, I bet there are rooftop bars that offer just the same kind of stunning view without the crowd elbowing you left and right.
Snacks and teas are expensive in the shops. Skip.
When my friends and I were ready to make our way down, we waited in line for the bus (bus number 15?), and we were in line for a good 70 - 90 minutes. Once we made our way down to Central, we caught the metro back to Kowloon. read more
