We must be in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. I've never seen a Gucci store that sold kids' clothing!

This is yet another modern and shiny Hong Kong mall. This one is conveniently located at the Tsim Sha Tsui terminal for the iconic Star harbor ferry. I did not do much here except get off the Star ferry and walked through the mall complex to eventually get to the Tsim Sha Tsui East MTR station. I did not realize it at the time, but it is claimed to be the largest shopping center in all of Hong Kong with a mall area totaling 2 million square feet. Actually, based on how long I walked, I can believe that claim now lol, as I entered at the ferry terminal and exited at Nathan Road, and for a mall, that is not a short distance!

The Harbour City is a shopping centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, which occupies the lower levels of a series of office blocks and hotels. The oceanfront deck has the breathtaking view, and you shouldn't miss it.

Another huge shopping mall catered with HK locals and Chinese tourists! haha :) Even our hotel recommended that we check out this place. It's enormous, multiple floors, and fully air conditioned. There's even FREE wi-fi as well, which is a bonus! Easy access from multiple hotels in the area, and close to Avenue of the Stars, museums, and more. You can easily get lost inside, take a map!

A-YA! This place was so crowded on Xmas eve. Trying to get in and trying to get out were so hard. Like many malls in HK, it was pretty upscale. More upscale than your average American mall even. If you are at the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, then stop by this mall. We stopped and had a drink at a place inside.

Barbour City is a high end mall that is really close to the ferry terminal on the Kowloon side. This mall is huge and features mostly the high end designers. There's Fendi, Calvin Klein Jeans, and Dior to name a few. Le Cafe de Joel Robuchon is also located here. The place is beautiful, immaculate, and very expensive. It's easy to get lost in this mall. I went to customer service and they were very helpful. They gave me a map and the different routes were color coated. I asked if there was a food court in this mall. She kind of chuckled and said there was no food court in this mall. I guess it's too high class for a food court here.

Harbour City has the nicest and most helpful information guide standing in front of the map near the big entrance by the Star Ferry terminal! He makes you feel HAPPY that you asked him for directions. This huge shopping complex actually comprises of 3 connected malls (Ocean Terminal, Ocean Centre, and Gateway Arcade) and office/hotel buildings. It's so easy to get lost in here. They have everything from grocery store to high end boutiques. It might be a general Hong Kong thing but their Muji store here has a cafe for afternoon tea! The Cha Cha sweets by the City Super market sell matcha green tea ice cream. I also came across a MTR coupon machine here where you beep your Octopus card to take $2 off your next ride at the nearby MTR stations on the same day. It's not much but it's the little things that you suddenly discover that makes or breaks an experience. I love their small outdoor patios that come with a seats and views of the harbor. I do wish that they had more seats throughout the mall. PS during New Years season, they have a small parade and visit every single shop in the mall to wish the staff and customers a Happy New Year!

If you are looking for shopping for western brands in Hong Kong, this is the place to be. I wouldn't recommend it for local stuff though.

"Excuse me. Do you know where the Sincerity Travel is in Mong Kok?"…read more"It is right next to Argyle Centre." As I was trying to get my student card ready, I was in Mong Kok trying to find that place but I ended up getting lost somewhere and had to resort to ask for help. The way he told me where that was made it sound like everyone knew where Argyle Centre was. Well, not for me. I seriously had no idea where that was. I just kept asking everyone along the way. Thankfully I made it. Turns out Argyle Centre is one of those malls for teens. I realized that teenage girls love coming here and I can tell by the number of people in this tiny little small here. You can see all kind of shops and I seriously do not think that any guys would come here as most shops here sell heels, accessories, dresses and basically women's stuff. So to be honest, I was literally the odd man out surrounded by all those girls. Anyway, the stuff here is extremely cheap. Well normally for guys, my shirt alone would cost me a few hundreds, but here a dress only costs around HKD$50. Wow! Are you serious? Well, design and taste aside... you can still buy lots of cheap stuff here. However, I believe everyone knows this place better than I do. I am so ashamed to call myself a local at this point. So if you are looking for decent clothes at a cheaper price, come here then.

Argyle Center is teenage shopping heaven. It's shop after shop and floor after floor of trendy…read moreclothes and accessories, all at EXTREMELY affordable prices. And I can't stress this enough - we're talking earrings for $10, shorts for $30 kind of cheap! Argyle Center is about a five minutes' walk from the MTR station. It's pretty easy to find your way - or you could just follow that group of teenagers in front of you because that's probably the way they're heading. The variety of things at Argyle is endless. You can find anything from backpacks with huge dolls attached to them to bags appropriate for you to bring for work - that's how much choice you'll have there. The mall is obviously catered to teenagers, but I don't think anybody could possibly leave here empty handed! Don't worry, it's not just all clothes and accessories - you can also find really fun novelty items and gifts there, like drinking games sets, offensive but funny cards and prank toys. If you're a fan of Korean pop music, you'll be able to find some shops that sell Korean celebrities merchandise like badges and posters. A word of caution though: some of the things here can be pretty tacky and cheap-looking - you'll see a lot of bright t-shirts with badly spelled words that make no sense and bags with so many studs nobody should be let within a metre-radius of them. But once in a while, you'll see a decent looking sweater or a necklace that doesn't look half bad. Most shopkeepers are willing to bargain, so you can get things cheaper than they already are! If there's a defect in something you want and it's the last remaining piece, don't be afraid to ask for a discount - you'll almost definitely get one! At all costs, do NOT come on a weekend because this place will be super crowded! You won't be able to browse much because you'll be knocking elbows with others who are trying to get a close look too, and it really just isn't worth coming on a weekday. Come on a weekday because there will be significantly less people! The key to shopping at Argyle is to be patient - you'll see some seriously tacky clothes, and you'll be bumping into other people because the mall isn't huge - but persistence is key! Poke around long enough and I'm sure you'll leave with a couple of good buys!

Pros + Price: let's be real. You're in Asia, where are all those cheap deals? Mong kok is the place to go. If you're a bargain wizard, you will definitely have fun here. + Variety: from food, bubble tea and earrings to clothing, you can probably buy almost everything here. Minus...probably groceries. + Public transportation friendly Cons - "Trying it on" is unheard of if you're buying clothes. Better to prepared and know your measurements. It's like buying clothes from aliexpress, but you get to see it in person before you buy - Cash: you probably need to bring cash. Each stall likely has a different policy about credit or debit cards (let alone international cards). This is basically a girl's shopping haven. My heart goes out to your partner if you're bringing a dude along.

I would describe it as more of a building full with tiny tiny shops. Whatever you can imagine, you can find at the mall. There were electronics stores, clothes of all kinds, purses, food stalls, gift shops and much more. Here's the interesting thing, each of these shops were only about 50-100 sq ft in size. Now there is about 4 stories on shops just like these. 4 floors of mini shops, with the bra shop sitting next to a gift shop next to a closet that sells curry fish balls. Was it a ton of stuff to buy, no, not really. But it was interesting. It was just like a indoor "ladies street." (Read the other review) So please, if it's only once, come on down to check it out, you may find something.

If you're looking for Vera Wang, you probably won't find it here. You can however, settle for her…read moremuch cheaper sister, Fera Wong (just kidding, not a real thing). Chinese knock-offs get a bad rap, but why the hell should you spend CAD $200 on your bridesmaid's dress when she'll only wear it once and it's probably ugly anyway?? Golden Plaza is the place to suppress those wedding budget anxieties with a little strategic spending. Going in for a walk is an experience in itself. Your eyes will get assaulted with all types of colours and sparkles that span 4 floors...and it's overwhelmingly glorious. I've been here on multiple shopping/pick up trips and I will always love coming back. I won't lie, some of the styles are less couture and more your Chinese auntie's version of couture. But look hard and you will find some really exciting stuff at unbelievable prices. Custom ballgown dresses seem to hover around the CAD $500-$1000+ range depending on what you want. You can get simple chiffon/tulle dresses for your wedding party at $60-$100 easily. If you're an online shopper, you might get lucky on Taobao, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for and the prices ended up being similar anyway. Talking face to face with the shop owner and being able to pick out colour, style, and material was the way to go. Other than dresses for every occasion at every price point, they've got a million varieties of shoes (customizable), real and fake jewelry, decorations, suits, photo studios, print shops...anything wedding related, they got it. You can't take photos of anything though, so bring a friend for consultation. Customized dresses take a few weeks to complete. We all know anything wedding related is suddenly inflated beyond belief, so places like Golden Plaza are a godsend. You might not want to get a wedding dress here, but what about 5 bridesmaid dresses? Bring in a picture of a $600 Jimmy Choo shoe, lower your quality expectations, and get it done for 1/10 the price. Remember, the essence of Chinese knock-offs is that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". And, of course, arguing your way to a bargain! My recommended stores: Lung Fung Night Dressing Co.
