(This review is also posted under the "Langham Place Mall" page)…read more One of the major factors that we have been staying at the Cordis Hotel every time we visit Hong Kong in the recent years is its convenient location. The hotel is connected to the Langham Place Mall on Level 4 via a shelter walkway across Shanghai Street. Langham Place is the largest shopping mall in Mong Kok. The 15-floor (+ 2 basement levels) mall with 180,000 sq ft of shopping space has over 200 shops and eateries, and direct access to the Mong Kok MTR in the basement level, making it very convenient to stay at the Cordis Hotel. I can't believe that the mall is already 21 years old. It still looks modern and funky. It has a 9-storey glass atrium that makes it look very airy with natural light during the day. There are many eateries and a food court on Level 4, plus many more restaurants and eateries dispersing throughout different levels of the mall. There is a long escalator going up from L4 to L8, and then another one from L8 to L12. There are also shorter escalators going up the floors after the long ones. The best strategy to browse the mall is to take either the escalators or elevators to the highest floor of the mall (supposed to be L15), and then work your way down by walking. It took me about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to do so. But it depends on whether you have something to shop for, or just browsing. I like to look at the cute things in the gift shops or toy stores. In my trip back in March, 2025, I purchased a Lulu the Pig disguised as Ne Zha. It was so cute and a great buy, it was on sale for HK$100 (US$13), down from HK$700 (US$90). However, the rest of the merchandises were at full price. We like the restaurants at the hotel, but have also tried different eateries in the mall. There are so many different cuisines to try. In our most recent trip in October, I noticed a big sign announcing that "Din Tai Fung is coming soon"! For a DTF fan like me, this is really great news. It is going to be close by Orchid Padaria Café (one of our favorite Cha Chaan Teng) on Level B2. I really look forward to dining in there when it opens! The Langham Place mall is an air-conditioned oasis in Mong Kok. It provides free WiFi, free parking, and long opening hours. It constantly attracts a lot of people. If you are not used to places with dense population, I suggest that you don't venture out there on Fridays, weekends, or any holidays, so that it would not be too overwhelming. Give it a try on a "slow" day first. Have fun!

This shopping mall is uniquely designed. The bottom section looks like a normal mall. Then it has…read moresuper long escalators to take you to the top section which has a LEGO store and a bunch of other neat shops. The top section is also pretty unique. From the top of the top section, you can walk down in a spiral and make your way down to the bottom of the top section.

Within 5 steps of each…read moreother are little stalls, each with their own different products and a pushy salesman/woman. Pros + Price: let's be real. You're in Asia, where are all those cheap deals? Mong kok is the place to go. If you're a bargain wizard, you will definitely have fun here. + Variety: from food, bubble tea and earrings to clothing, you can probably buy almost everything here. Minus...probably groceries. + Public transportation friendly Cons - "Trying it on" is unheard of if you're buying clothes. Better to prepared and know your measurements. It's like buying clothes from aliexpress, but you get to see it in person before you buy - Cash: you probably need to bring cash. Each stall likely has a different policy about credit or debit cards (let alone international cards). This is basically a girl's shopping haven. My heart goes out to your partner if you're bringing a dude along.

I would describe it as more of a building full with tiny tiny shops. Whatever you can imagine, you can find at the mall. There were electronics stores, clothes of all kinds, purses, food stalls, gift shops and much more. Here's the interesting thing, each of these shops were only about 50-100 sq ft in size. Now there is about 4 stories on shops just like these. 4 floors of mini shops, with the bra shop sitting next to a gift shop next to a closet that sells curry fish balls. Was it a ton of stuff to buy, no, not really. But it was interesting. It was just like a indoor "ladies street." (Read the other review) So please, if it's only once, come on down to check it out, you may find something.

Chinese knock-offs get a bad rap, but why the hell should you spend CAD $200 on your bridesmaid's dress when she'll only wear it once and it's probably ugly anyway?? Golden Plaza is the place to suppress those wedding budget anxieties with a little strategic spending. Going in for a walk is an experience in itself. Your eyes will get assaulted with all types of colours and sparkles that span 4 floors...and it's overwhelmingly glorious. I've been here on multiple shopping/pick up trips and I will always love coming back. I won't lie, some of the styles are less couture and more your Chinese auntie's version of couture. But look hard and you will find some really exciting stuff at unbelievable prices. Custom ballgown dresses seem to hover around the CAD $500-$1000+ range depending on what you want. You can get simple chiffon/tulle dresses for your wedding party at $60-$100 easily. If you're an online shopper, you might get lucky on Taobao, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for and the prices ended up being similar anyway. Talking face to face with the shop owner and being able to pick out colour, style, and material was the way to go. Other than dresses for every occasion at every price point, they've got a million varieties of shoes (customizable), real and fake jewelry, decorations, suits, photo studios, print shops...anything wedding related, they got it. You can't take photos of anything though, so bring a friend for consultation. Customized dresses take a few weeks to complete. We all know anything wedding related is suddenly inflated beyond belief, so places like Golden Plaza are a godsend. You might not want to get a wedding dress here, but what about 5 bridesmaid dresses? Bring in a picture of a $600 Jimmy Choo shoe, lower your quality expectations, and get it done for 1/10 the price. Remember, the essence of Chinese knock-offs is that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". And, of course, arguing your way to a bargain! My recommended stores: Lung Fung Night Dressing Co.
