I'm glad though the seat reclined to a flat position. In addition to their lap belt, they have a shoulder harness which was pretty awesome to keep us secure during turbulence. The food experience was ok. I think they could use some improvement. Service was a hit or miss. Some were really welcoming and others kinda were standoffish. Their little bag of goodies is really nice though. Toothbrush and fresheners for the face! I loved that.

Cabin service itself was world class where the cabin crew greeted me by name with every interaction and were quite tactful and elegant. Shortly after takeoff, drink and nut service began, then a duck appetizer, and world-class Chilean sea bass over e-fu noodles. Sea bass was perfectly cooked and the sauce was spot on! I did sfo-hkg with spore airlines this time. I remember about 20 years ago, my mom took Spore Airlines back in the day when they had open 30 day return tix. She was unaware of the 30 day return (promo tix). She ended up havign to have surgery done on both her legs due to a severe vericose condition (she chronically stands 12-15 hours daily for her job). At the time, she was unable to return within the 30 days, so i had to contact their sf office to see if i could get an extension for her. I told them i could get her medical docs and md notes, if needed. However, the office said that wasn't necessary at all and just changed her date to when she would be released from the hospital. I was so grateful and thankful for their service. It was easy peasy. Now, 20 years later, i was pleasantly happy with their good customer svs at the hkg airport. The agent who helped me was jovial and pleasant and good natured. i had just deplaned from China Airlines and had quite a nightmarish experience from taipei airport to the flight, so i was so pleased when i transferred to singapore air at hkg to return to sfo. The very tough negative experience with China Airlines reminded me how it might be worth it sometimes to pay a little extra for a company that cares about you.

But we had a good experience and so I was happy to fly Xiamen again, a couple of weeks ago, from Haikou to Hangzhou. Despite being the most inexpensive flight we could find on the Haikou-Hangzhou route, it didn't feel like we were on a discount airline: The plane looked fairly new. A pretty good complimentary meal was served by domestic flight standards. All communications included English - despite the fact that I appeared to be the only "foreigner" on the flight. The Stewardesses were attractive (although their uniforms could have been more revealing). The landing in Hangzhou was smooth. And Xiamen flights add to our Delta Sky Miles accounts. From what I can see, Xiamen is as good as any airline. As long as their prices remain competitive, I will keep flying them.

The seat pitch was a bit tighter by 1-2 inches compared to the outbound flight from Chicago and I learned the degree of comfort actually depends on the version of the 777-300ER you get! Upon some subsequent research, there are 4 versions of the 777-300ER and only 1 version has the 33" pitch vs 31-32" for the other 3! Otherwise, food and service and entertainment were again quite fine except for one meal (a Korean-style BBQ beef with rice which was mediocre). Flying Eva will likely also mean a layover in Taipei and their international terminal is state-of-the-art, classy, and comfortable, and so that is another plus. Overall, I'll say 4.5 stars, a great airline, and I would enthusiastically fly with them again.

On one occasion, I had to fly back to HK on a very short notice and was not able to get a ticket with CX, my agent suggested AC instead, with no other choices, and I do not want to have a stop over in Tokyo if I fly with JAL, I finally flew with AC after many years. To my pleasant surprise, the Business Class with AC has improved enormously, especially with their Dreamliner 787, the seating arrangements are similar to CX, but I find that the seats are a bit wider and also the firmness is just right ( you can adjust the firmness to your liking with a touch of your finger on the control ). Service on board has always been an issue back in the days when AC received a lot of negative comments, but I find that flight crews are all very friendly on all my flights so far! ( should I keep my finger crossed? ). They make you feel at ease with their down to earth kind of service, they don't rush you or pester you, they let you relax and provide just the right level of service, this is the kind of service that only experienced staff can offer, I had been on airlines that "over service" which actually stresses you out instead! So, if you are ever thinking of flying Air Canada, do give them a try, they may surprise you with their very own Canadian Hospitality! OH remember to ask your attendant to make their "Signature Cocktail", then relax and sit back and enjoy!

Operating out of Hong Kong International Airport, it offers flights to over 20 destinations across Asia. The airline only uses Airbus A320 family planes and is famous for being the first in Hong Kong to let female flight attendants wear pants. I do admit I chose HK Express because of the limited edition collaboration with South Korea's JOGUMAN. The set included a yum Pandan Waffle with adorable JOGUMAN Dinosaur Stickers packet. I also ordered the delicious Pineapple Bun with BBQ Pork and both were paid online via the HK Express website. Just know in advance that booking tickets or food/drink items are in HK Dollars only. Overall it was an easy transaction. In the end, I will not hesitate booking with HK Express just note it's a basic no-frills airlines. It's perplexing to me to see those booking budget and expecting luxury! C'mon and wake up! If you want premium book on Cathay Pacific! Since my first flight I've booked HK Express four times for my short flight Asian travels. Tokyo to Hong Kong. Hong Kong to Taipei. Taipei to Tokyo. No movies, no extras per se, but if you want a safe efficient flight from point A to point B, I have zero complaints! Crew friendly & multi-lingual. And do expect minimal service unless you pay extra. No foods and drinks allowed on board unless you purchase their food, which is not bad at all. Egg waffle, French toast and Hainan chicken rice on board. That just sounds boujee to me lol. We had to take a shuttle bus at the gat then took the stairs to the plane, which is not uncommon for budget airlines. Staff were friendly. Overall I was happy with this airlines.

I flew this airline 4 times and my recent experience was from Hong Kong to Osaka Kansai. The good thing about flying with this airline to Osaka is this airline has its own dedicated terminal 2 in Kansai, so that means lesser chance of long queues at the immigration counters compared to other terminals. You will be impressed with the Japanese service and do try the inflight meal, either the bento set or the beef rice, they are very good. Seat configuration is the standard 180-seater on the Airbus A320 but it's comfortable. At that time, this airline was suffering a shortage of pilots. A good number of them were either on leave or quit the company. The airline has issued advance warnings to us about flight delays and cancellations and they have posted this almost everywhere online and emails to notify the affected passengers. So if you miss it, then it's your fault. Fortunately, this incident lasted for a short while and it was back to normal not long after. At that time, I booked 2 sectors with this airline, only my Sapporo to Osaka flight was affected but I could change it without paying a fee. Good recovery service from the airline, they notified me in advance and I appreciate that. Because of the incident, my Hong Kong to Osaka was delayed. Apologises were made even though I wasn't too happy but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, why? I manage to photograph the beautiful sunset view during the flight and I can't ask for more!! So sometimes there is a silver lining to a flight delay, stay calm and make use of what you have. Overall, needless to say, fly with this airline! The best Low Cost Carrier in my book.

Went to the airport way early for flight from HK to Osaka and could not find the checkin place for…read morepeach airlines. The monitors say it's in Section D (next to ANA...not sure if it's always the case) but no peach staff had showed up for work yet. Aside from a peach luggage measurement thing, it was not marked. I confirmed with a nearby airlines' agent that it was them. My flight was at 3:50pm, staff showed up at 1:15pm and began checkin service. They began by tapeing up the peach logo to the station. Lots of mainland chinese and hong kongese as well as Koreans go from Hong Kong to Osaka apparently; checkin agents are Hong Kongese. The flight attendants are Japanese but speak english and announcements are also prerecorded in Cantonese during the flight. The flight experience was not bad at all. Althought you do have to pay out of pocket if you want anything. Very good service and very clean for a low cost airline. Will fly again.

Everyone working at the terminals is friendly and helpful. The food courts and restaurants is a foodie paradise. It feels like you are dining at some of the best places with service to match. I hate layovers but this is one stop where I actually look forward to. I don't understand why the U.S. airports have not excelled in this area yet. Here are a few food places I recommend inside the airport: - located at Terminal 5, Level 1, we dined at Ryu Shabu Shabu upon landing. Luggages must be left outside the restaurant. Only in Asia can you feel comfortable doing this. We were famished since we didn't eat any of the airplane food. The meal set here was so satisfying. They slice large pieces of Wagyu in front of you. Dipping in that special raw egg with the bright red yolk was heaven. The broth is similar to a Sukiyaki. - Next door to Ryu, I got a hot Longan & Red Dates Nut Mylk. My son who is not into hot drinks took a sip and his eyes show how shockingly good it was. He couldn't stop raving about it. - Duddell's for its Michelin Starred dim sum. Their restaurant is located in Central but they have a spot here at departures hall. - I also highly recommend Yung Kee Restaurant at Terminal 1 (Gates 40-80) for some Roast Goose and Soy Chicken. Service was stellar. Tons of shops for those last minute duty-free gifts. I got a couple of cool magnets for my travel fridge collection. I swear, HK Airport has the nicest smelling restrooms. The sinks were so cool looking I almost took a pic. Lol. Don't forget to checkin to get your Yelp Hong Kong travel badge.

The security, baggage claim, and customs areas seem to be very efficient as well. The airport is connected to the city via an express MTR service and taxis. The taxi stand was easy to navigate and had staff to direct you to a suitable taxi for your group size/luggage. Overall: Very good. It's still an airport and undoubtedly there will be delays and irritating things that come with travel. But, it's a super nice airport.
