By far, my favorite (and arguably the BEST) grocery store in Hong Kong for Western tastes.
Grocery shopping in HK is no easy feat. It will require multiple trips to a variety of shops around town depending on your needs and all of this without a car. But Oliver's has become my #1 go-to, trusted, quality grocery store. And I must emphasize how important and rare it is to trust the products in a grocery store in HK, especially all in one place.
If you are in the market for quality American goods, this is your best option. They have everything from bagels, jalapenos, Ezekiel bread, avocados etc. I simply enjoy walking up and down all of their aisles to see what they have. They once had an accidental yoplait yogurt so I had to grab it! Anytime I am on the hunt for a particular product from the US, I will come here to look first. They were really helpful around holidays (ex: thanksgiving) and anytime I've attempted a recipe from Chrissy Teigen's Cravings cookbook (no easy feat to find all of the right ingredients in HK, but I must do right by Chrissy!). And they also have flamin' hot Cheetos and fruity pebbles here, you're welcome for the tip. :)
The store itself is small, but mighty. I really think they deserve to occupy more space, they are THAT wonderful of a store! You can trust the meat at the butcher counter here: quality, imported and fresh. They have a great hot foods section with rotisserie chicken & roast beef, a bakery, a full service deli plus a made to order salad bar. They have a good selection of produce, but on a few occasions I've purchased items that looked totally fine but ended up not being fresh (ex:strawberries and cherry tomatoes).
Super nice staff and great assortment, I only wish they were bigger and open later. read more
