Of the three dishes I had here, my favorite was the grilled pork neck, followed by the tom yum with the green curry at the bottom (because it is on the sweeter side). Since there are so many food options just a stone's throw away from every other restaurant, I'd dine elsewhere before deciding to come back again. MY ORDER x1 Tom Yum Soup x1 Green Curry x1 Grilled Pork Neck TOM YUM SOUP: ($136HKD =$17.58USD) I have no qualms with this Tom Yum soup. While not the best Tom Yum soup I've had in terms of depth of flavor, it was still very tasty. I appreciate that it was full of ingredients like mushroom, fat headed shrimp, tomatoes etc. I also enjoyed the splash of coconut milk on top. GREEN CURRY: ($118HKD = $15.03USD) If you like sweet coconut curries, you'll enjoy this. Filled with Thai eggplant, basil, mushrooms and your choice of meat, this was definitely a bang for your buck. Curries are an amazing pairing with rice, if only the rice ($15HKD = $1.91USD per bowl)bowls were cheaper here. Since I'm not a fan of sweet curries, I probably won't order this again, but I will note that this curry was not as sickeningly coconut sweet as the curries you'd find in the U.S. GRILLED PORK NECK: ($118HKD = $15.03USD) The fatty neck was grilled in a sweet and savory barbecue sauce and would have been a bit too decadent if it weren't for the vinegary dipping sauce it was served with. Even though the lemony fish dipping sauce is sour enough to make you wince when consumed on its own, together they make this dish. This also comes with a couple shrimp chips...that taste like pork floss (unfortunately, I don't know what this is). ENVIRONMENT: Nice and modern looking, this restaurant was apparently remodeled with an upper and lower level. Expect to eat with light tin utensils atop of tin dishes. The air conditioning, while initially an excellent respite from the sweltering heat outside, was a bit too strong for my liking as the food cooled down too quickly, but it may have been set so high to accommodate government mandated indoor airflow. CONS: - pricey compared to other local restaurants - air conditioning was too strong TIPS: - while i thought the green curry was too sweet, it may just be that I find all coconut milk based curry too sweet

Many people in Hong Kong say "It's so hard to find vegetarian options in Hong Kong!" Lo and behold…read morethis wonderful nook hiding in Thai-town, Kowloon City. Perfect for the vegetarians in Hong Kong. The menu is jacked with hearty curries and tasty stir-fries. I would totally make this my regular if I didn't live so far away and poor. To be honest, the price is pretty decent. The shop is run by Thai people so you're in good hands. It's the perfect place to unwind from a busy city in Hong Kong, as they don't rush you out the door when you finish. One thing to note though is that some dishes originally have meat in them, but they use a soy substitute. Tom Gai Gai, for example, is just lacking that flavor so I'd avoid ordering a chicken dish (no chicken) and expect it to taste like chicken. If that makes any sense.

The food here is delicious - don't miss the fresh spring rolls or the pomelo salad. What's great…read moreabout the curries and other mains is the huge number of vegetables. Chinese vegetarian restaurants often focus on one type of meat substitute, but the dishes here have a wide mix of veg alongside the vegetarian duck, scallops or whatever. The only thing I dislike are the drinks, as the water here has a slightly strange aftertaste. Note that this is a small, hole-in-the-wall type place; it would be pushed to fit twenty, and the tables spill out onto the street. I usually don't wait long for a seat but at peak times there can be a queue. They do do takeaway, but might not accept orders if it's a very busy evening.
