None of us were familiar with the area or restaurant. So let's do a "why not"?!? Lunchtime makes this a popular spot! Many locals- both adults and kids were on their lunch breaks filling up the tables. We were lucky to be seated right away at a round table! The little things, but it did make our conversation so much easier! Our server spoke clear English and was nice in helping out with menu items as well. Drinks were immediately served, as we were all thirsty and we gladly sipped our ice cold Singha beer! A small pitcher of water was also on the all the tables which was so much easier than asking for a water refill 10x in the miniature cups. Our 5 dishes came out quite quick for the amount of people there which was a nice surprise! We ordered a little bit of a few things so all could share family style. *Fried rice (in a pinneaple) with shrimp- (definitely the show stopper with a beautiful presentation. Taste was good but nothing over the top. A little sweeter than I was expecting. *Shrimp spring rolls- nicely cut up and perfectly cooked with a fresh filling * Regular spring rolls- hard to go wrong on these and very flavorful and delicate *Kale dish with pork- not like the kind of kale I was expecting, but pleasantly surprised, very good and crunchy with a nice sauce * Curry dish- I don't recall the actual type of curry but it wasn't the normal ones like red, green or yellow. It wasn't my favorite but it was ok. I wasn't keen on the meat which was in it. My verdict: it was way more food than the 5 of us could handle but we thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and company. If in the area again, I'd definitely come back to try my favorite, pad thai! Plenty of seating, clean restrooms, great service, good food/presentation and decent prices! (Also to note, the seating is outdoors but today the weather was great with a less humidity and they also have plenty of fans.) It was a great "Why not?!?" Life should be about more of them!

If you are looking for good Thai food for cheap Mango Tree Cafe is the place to be. A lunch set…read morestarts at $58. If you want milk tea or coffee with your lunch set it is just $8 more. The food is delicious a little bit spicier than I expected but nothing I can't handle. Mango Tree Cafe receives 4 out of 5 stars for having average service, cheap prices, and delicious food! And not to mention, it is very Instagrammable!

I am a little hesitate to write a review for this place because I do not want it to start…read moreattracting crowds of people especially local tourists. But on the other hand, I want them to do well and stay in business so I can continue to come and get my fix of Thai food...... It's sure a hidden gem, perhaps the best Thai food with a reasonable price tag in this city. No Thai restaurant in Kowloon City can compare......the lady behind the stove really knows what she's doing. Of course just like another restaurants not everything on the menu is good. But her ground pork with Thai basil, green papaya salad, spicy vermicelli salad, salt coated grilled fish....are the closest things you can get outside of Thailand. You can even order your green papaya salad with raw baby crab if you dare. If you know your Thai food well and don't see what you want listed on the menu, do not be afraid to ask....if she has the commodity on hand she will made it for you.
