On one occasion, I had to fly back to HK on a very short notice and was not able to get a ticket with CX, my agent suggested AC instead, with no other choices, and I do not want to have a stop over in Tokyo if I fly with JAL, I finally flew with AC after many years. To my pleasant surprise, the Business Class with AC has improved enormously, especially with their Dreamliner 787, the seating arrangements are similar to CX, but I find that the seats are a bit wider and also the firmness is just right ( you can adjust the firmness to your liking with a touch of your finger on the control ). Service on board has always been an issue back in the days when AC received a lot of negative comments, but I find that flight crews are all very friendly on all my flights so far! ( should I keep my finger crossed? ). They make you feel at ease with their down to earth kind of service, they don't rush you or pester you, they let you relax and provide just the right level of service, this is the kind of service that only experienced staff can offer, I had been on airlines that "over service" which actually stresses you out instead! So, if you are ever thinking of flying Air Canada, do give them a try, they may surprise you with their very own Canadian Hospitality! OH remember to ask your attendant to make their "Signature Cocktail", then relax and sit back and enjoy!

Flight was leveraging a brand new Dreamliner that was merely a couple months old. Seat cushions were decent and the seat felt spacious despite using 17.3" width and 31" pitch in Economy! Wifi was available on board using a v2 methodology where time is the only unit of measure. (V1 leveraged a 100 MB fair usage policy in addition to time.) Surprisingly both eBooks along with Live TV were both available in addition to the standard typical movies, music etc. Highlight of the flight was the extremely talented cabin crew that made the journey over the top pleasant! Meal service was surprisingly decent for a mid-range International flight as it started off with some ham, roasted beef, cheese, and coleslaw. There was also a small portion of soba noodles, including a dipping sauce! The main entree was a fried chicken with some sauce and white rice roulade.

Everything from check-in to security and boarding was smooth and efficient, making our travel experience stress-free. One of our favorite features was the Sky Deck, located near the direction of Gates 13-22. The observation deck offers an amazing view of the airplanes taking off and landing. It was such a cool experience and definitely worth visiting if you have some extra time before your flight. We also tried the wonton noodles at the airport, and they were absolutely delicious! We didn't expect airport food to be that good, so it was a pleasant surprise and the perfect way to enjoy one last taste of Hong Kong. Overall, Hong Kong International Airport truly impressed us with its excellent facilities, cleanliness, efficiency, and unique attractions. We would happily travel through this airport again and highly recommend taking some time to explore it if you have a layover or are flying through Hong Kong.

This time, I had a connection of about four hours and was looking forward to having a meal and exploring the airport. Unfortunately, my departure gate wasn't announced until less than an hour before departure. Since this is such a large airport, not knowing where my flight would depart from made me hesitant to venture too far from the area where I had arrived. I kept checking the flight information boards, but the information for my connecting flight wasn't updated for quite some time. When the gate was finally posted, the signs indicated that it would take 20-25 minutes to get there. I then had to rush to my gate, even though I had initially thought I had plenty of time because of the long layover. One thing to be aware of is that the Sky Garden is also a designated smoking area. It looks like a pleasant outdoor garden, but I didn't stay long because of the number of people smoking there. On the positive side, I appreciated the availability of hot drinking water, which allowed me to make a cup of tea. The bathrooms were also very clean.

The next day, we were served diner 1h15 before landing that means we were starving for more than 9 hours. Yes 9 hours! What saved me not to faint were my sandwiches packed the day before. Yes I started not feeing well and was offered 2 sandwiches by the fight attendants in the meantime until the they would wheel the food. The movie selection onboard was very old and did not bother watching any. I made sure I wrote online 4 reviews hoping that the service in general would improve. If I would fly again with RJ? Yes because I know what to expect and as far as I would land safe and sound on both legs on my trip, this is fine with me. I traveled with my miles and prefer to chose a budget airline than BA or Iberia which charge exorbitant taxes and fees.

I hate layovers but this is one stop where I actually look forward to. I don't understand why the U.S. airports have not excelled in this area yet. Here are a few food places I recommend inside the airport: - located at Terminal 5, Level 1, we dined at Ryu Shabu Shabu upon landing. Luggages must be left outside the restaurant. Only in Asia can you feel comfortable doing this. We were famished since we didn't eat any of the airplane food. The meal set here was so satisfying. They slice large pieces of Wagyu in front of you. Dipping in that special raw egg with the bright red yolk was heaven. The broth is similar to a Sukiyaki. - Next door to Ryu, I got a hot Longan & Red Dates Nut Mylk. My son who is not into hot drinks took a sip and his eyes show how shockingly good it was. He couldn't stop raving about it. - Duddell's for its Michelin Starred dim sum. Their restaurant is located in Central but they have a spot here at departures hall. - I also highly recommend Yung Kee Restaurant at Terminal 1 (Gates 40-80) for some Roast Goose and Soy Chicken. Service was stellar. Tons of shops for those last minute duty-free gifts. I got a couple of cool magnets for my travel fridge collection. I swear, HK Airport has the nicest smelling restrooms. The sinks were so cool looking I almost took a pic. Lol. Don't forget to checkin to get your Yelp Hong Kong travel badge.

They do have regular cabins without clear floors, but none of us are scared of heights, so we happily chose the glass-bottom one. We bought our tickets early on Klook. It was much cheaper than buying them at the gate. We also chose to visit on a weekday, which was a great choice because it was not crowded at all. I still remember our last visit ten years ago was super packed, and people had to wait in huge lines just to get on. The cable car ride takes about 25 minutes each way. We only bought a one-way ticket this time because we wanted to visit Tai O Fishing Village afterward. It was a fun, smooth, and beautiful 25-minute ride. We loved looking down at the green hills, seeing waterfalls, and watching the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery come into view. Surprisingly, it was not hot at all, and it felt pretty cool up there on the mountain. It was truly amazing!

We got there around 10am on a Saturday and purchased tickets at the gate and didn't have a wait. Weekend tickets are more expensive, but we didn't have a choice with our schedule. I opted for the crystal glass cabin which I highly recommend for that full 360 degrees experience. The cabin has a clear glass bottom. The line for the crystal glass cabin is significantly shorter than the standard one too so avoiding the wait alone is worth it. Each one way ride is actually longer than I thought it would be so well worth the price. There's of course the giant Buddha to see at the top. There's also a few hiking trails. There are a lot of restaurant options at the top, but I suggest having lunch at their vegetarian cafe by the monastery- it's unique and delicious .
