Pho is so good! Chicken is a bit oily for me but it crispy enough. Pho soup and noodles are both good and tasty!

Cute dainty spot, reminds me of Vietnam. Delicious authentic pho (they do not have tripe or tendon). Hu Tieu Nam Vang (dry) is also good. My 6 year old daughter enjoys their chicken pho. They also serve homemade ice tea that seems to be the best cooling drink for hot days. If you have room for dessert, definitely try their che troi nuoc - sweet and warm made with tapioca stuffed mung bean.

We had a thrilling day at the Pride Parade and needed some sustenance to get through the rest of the night. My friend led us to O Mai and it was literally perfect, and totally hit the spot. The lovely servers were very accommodating about finding our group some tables to sit at without a reservation. I ordered the pho ga (chicken noodle soup) and the chicken was juicy and flavorful. The broth was great, not too salty- and the portions were really generous. There are little sauce caddies so that you can make everything spicier if desired. I really appreciate restaurants that are generous with tap water- they even offered us a carafe with mint in it. I'm really looking forward to coming back on winter nights when the pho craving hits. Thank you, O Mai, for a great, no-fuss dinner!

    Delicious Pho!!!

The best viet place I found in Amsterdam. The beef carpaccio and lotus root salad are delicious and fresh. Very authentic. The beef noodles are good too.

This restaurant was a spontaneous find. The inside was quaint and small. The stairs to the bathroom were very steep and very European. Staff was nice, however, the menu was very limited. Almost everything has pork in it, which I do not eat. They were very accommodating and made me a vegetarian soup with tofu. The broth was good flavor, but overall I have had much better Vietnamese food. A co-worker of mine got the chicken curry lunch special which he said was good. We however did not receive knifes or forks and the chicken was bone in wings. I had to go rummage through the service well to find some forks. I wouldn't go back here but the experience was not unfortunate. -Forever Foodie - Ela

Bánh xéo (crispy Vietnamese pancake) of lovely Ô Mai.

Ai, ai, ai. O Mai God. This must be the best Vietnamese restaurant in town. Love the raw beef drenched in lemon & the spring rolls with chicken and taro. All hands up for the bánh xéo (crispy Vietnamese pancake). Such a joy to eat: shrimp, pork and herbs wrapped in a rice flower-coconut milk-turmeric pancake. Close to movie theatre Tuschinski. The ultimate movie night: a love seat at Tuschinski & dinner at O Mai. http://www.amsterdambitestodiefor.com/savoury/crepe-mission/

The staff was very friendly, which makes me want to give them another star, but the food and service was really just good, not great. Sat outside to enjoy the weather, but maybe they were really busy inside? They forgot our drink orders and brought our dishes out at different times. The food was good, but we were left awkwardly taking turns eating and watching each other eat.

My impression of O Mai was initially positive. It's small and homely, a perfect getaway from the insanity of Rembrandtplein. The wall is adorned with multicolored paper birds, the furniture Ikea-esque with a small serving bar in the center. Great for a couple or small group of friends to enjoy an evening. The food was delicious. I ordered #32, cold vermicelli with grilled pork. It came with a chili fish sauce, one of the better sauces I've had in my visits to Vietnamese restaurants in my travels. The pork was grilled just right and very flavorful. The service was friendly enough - as an American I'm used to being served in record time. This is not that place. My waiter, despite his youth, explained the sauces and dishes to me in detail (my expectations of a younger waitstaff is low based on prior experiences). He was very polite and patient, albeit his sense of urgency was lacking - I'm spoiled in this regard, I know. #murica Definitely worth a try if if you're in the mood for some good eats near Rplein and want to avoid the crowds. I'll definitely return.

Well. I grew up in small town in the middle of nowhere where my mom cooked me potatoes with vegetables and a piece of meat everyday. So how was I supposed to know that the weird looking salad were the veggies meant to go into my beef noodle soup? Still a great ffffccckknggg soup, by the way! Wasn't it for my small town ignorance this could've been a-ma-zing. I had some chick spring rolls on the side, which were awesome too. For desert I went with the vanilla cake with caramel. Decent piece of bouncy cake with a nice caramel sauce that lacked just a little salt. Talking about weird looking.... My friend had the rice balls with bean paste in some strange white liquid. Check the photo and you probably get the problem with the visuals. Tasted good, though.

    So gross ..

I order dinner from here last night and a huge dead black fly was in my shrimp salad roll. First and last time I will eat here. How disgusting. If I could rate this place a negative I would.

    Pho is yummy!

I've come in a couple times and have tried the pho and bánh mì. They are both very good. The prices are pretty decent and the staff is friendly. I really enjoy this place and look forward to returning!

Pho is the main reason why I go to vietnamese restaurant. This place has pretty decent pho. I would say above average. It was funny that outside seating has a clear wall and next door was a sone what famous coffee shop. I would come back in the future, next time when I am back in Amsterdam

Great option to try something new and different. Recom Tucked inside Food Hallen among a variety of tempting spots, Viet View immediately caught my eye. I went for the Steak Bowl, and it did not disappoint--bursting with flavor and gone in what felt like seconds. A fresh, unique twist that stands out among the usual options. Definitely a great pick if you're looking to try something different.

Viet View is a Vietnamese style food vendor with a little bit of a twist on the original recipes…read more They offer banh mi (sandwiches), bun (vermicelli bowls), and cha goi (spring rolls). Their prices are a bit on the higher side, but after receiving my banh mi and seeing the shear size of it, I understand the prices and believe they are appropriate. I ordered a pork belly banh mi with chili peppers included, and I was surprised by how big it was and how close to the traditional banh mi it was. The real difference would be the use of the chili peppers vs. jalapenos (maybe that's just an American thing) and the shredded pork belly versus cuts of it. Regardless, it was delicious and filling without feeling too heavy. Definitely recommend.
