Bike tour led by Anne :)
    Cherrie T.

5 star experience! Although I was quite exhausted after this 4-hour bike tour, our guide, Anne, made this tour extremely fun and memorable! Thank you so much!! She was very patient with all of us who cannot bike lol. It was actually quite fun learning the hand signals and how to ride with different gear levels. She also took the time to explain the historical significance and threw in fun facts about each of the places and architectures we visited. My friends and I joined the tour during the May long weekend. Weather was perfect with a nice breeze. I had a chance to see many beautiful parts of Montreal on wheels ;) Gay village was absolutely gorgeous with all the pink decors! I love the parks too with all the greens and flower blossoms. Fun fact - drinking in public is permitted in their local parks... yay lol. We also had a quick lunch at the 24-hour St. Viateur bagel shop, which was included in the tour. Bagels were so hot and fresh... they were fantastic with some plain old cream cheese ;) I had a great time! Anne was funny, passionate and full of energy :D After the tour, you're welcome to keep the bikes for the day and return it before the bike rental shop closes. I would highly recommend this tour for those who love adventures and the outdoors! This is definitely an great way to explore the city :) P.S. Make sure you put on sunscreen!!

We ended up just doing a one hour bike rental from Ca Roule Montreal, but that was more than enough for our family (2 adults, 2 kids). We arrived right after they opened and there was already short line in front of us. When we came back to return our bikes, the line was through the store! This place is BUSY! I definitely recommend getting there close to opening time if you need some specialized bikes (ride along and a trailer) as we did. There seemed to be a lot of "regular" bikes available, but the specialized equipment they only had a limited amount available. The gentleman that helped us was very friendly and helpful. He showed us some places on the map that he thought would be of interest to us. And he also made sure to mention that one of the islands that we could bike to might not be the best because it was heavily under construction-a tip that we very much appreciated. They offered and provided locks for all of our bikes. No extra charge. We brought our own helmets, but they had helmets there if you needed. They set the bikes up for us. And made sure we knew where the spare tubes were (hey, stuff happens, right?), and they made sure that we knew where the shop number was in case of any emergencies. We went off and enjoyed our ride and came back within the hour. The line was quite long, but they honored our one hour time. We really enjoyed our ride around Montreal! I would highly recommend Ca Roule Montreal if we ever return to Montreal. I would even consider taking a tour with them. The staff was friendly, the prices were reasonable and the location was truly perfect.

First of all I can think of a better way to see you city then biking you're up close and personal but you still covered a good man a territory. Second of all having a great bike guided tour is an essential part of that. These guys are everything you read in the reviews - professional, great guides, great bikes and just a Tonna fun. If you want to do a bike tour in Montreal I can't imagine it would be better than the guys we had this morning. Highly recommend- they've earned their rating on trip advisor.

Frederick, our guide, took eight of us over a 7 mile tour of some of the classic neighborhoods of Montreal. His love for his hometown truly shines. We took about three hours because he made a point of showing us some classic Montreal native spots such as an immense farmers market filled with luscious locally grow produce. If we were staying long enough to cook, I'd be heading straight back there tomorrow . Frederick is a certified guide and while his knowledge is near encyclopedic, he never drones. He always invites questions and made us laugh a lot. Ask him how poutine got its name. He created a perfect blend of peddling and savoring He spaced out our rest stops in such a way that we were never bored with resting and nor fatigued with pedaling.

I had a great time with Frederic, who told stories while we immersed ourselves in Montreal's history. The handmade bagels were the best--so good that I could have enjoyed them without cream cheese. Compared to a lot of new coffee shops brewing new wave coffee beans that tend to me more fruity and acidic, this one brews old school italian coffee. This gives a much richer and round coffee with chocolate and nut flavor which I love. No art foam on their coffee but who cares, just simple good coffee at its best. I held off on a negative review for nearly a year, giving the benefit of the doubt. I purchased a Schindelhauer bike from them and the online payment system calculated purchase and shipping (great price). This was a mistake with the payment system and I called the next day and we figured out shipping. The bike arrived damaged unfortunately. I took dozens of photos and tried to submit to ups directly. Unfortunately a damage claim has to be submitted by the shipper. This involved UPS and a shipping company they use called freightcom. Velo lifestyles blamed freightcom, so I reached out to freightcom.... They blamed velo... you see where this is going. Keep in mind this is nearly a year into this! I had an unusable bike until the manufacturer actually sent me a fender to mount. I originally had tried to bend the damage away from the tire to make the bike usable. I give credit to Schindelhauer for providing the part... it really wasn't their issue. Velo put it off so long I emailed Germany and got it myself! They now claim that they no longer ship to the United States due to shipping issues. I would avoid purchasing from this company due to a shady handling of the shipping claim. They seem nice on the phone and might be a good option if you pick up in person. I can speak to my experience with them. I would avoid any business that won't support their customers or stand behind a sale.

He's pretty open and will meet you pretty much anywhere. Marko's style: Marko is awesome. All you need to know! But seriously - Marko is a local photographer who's really enthusiastic about his craft and this comes through in his teaching style. He's incredibly patient and can easily adapt his style based on the level of knowledge of those partaking in his photo walks. The walks typically last about 2-2.5 hours and throughout, Marko will often stop to offer up tips and tricks, whether these be about exposure, composition, lighting or how to frame a shot in a unique way. I've been practicing photography for about twenty years and I totally left this walk with some new knowledge under my belt, and a renewed I desire to get back to SLR. Marko really knows his stuff and I plan to do a 1:1 with him when it's warmer. Ok, a LOT warmer! Verdict: If you're newbie looking to learn about photography, or a seasoned pro looking to hone your craft, Marko will cater to your level, and you'll walk away knowing it was money well-spent.

This morning I woke up pinching myself to test and see if it was all just a dream, or if we had really experienced such an incredible time. I am the primary family photographer; my husband is a fully functional photographer, loves to learn and was happy to join me in the adventure. Marko began with a 30-minute clear, easy-to-follow mini-lecture on basic exposure and camera techniques. While most of this was not new to me, it was good to hear it stated in such a clear, concise way. Then...the tour. Oh...my goodness! Marko totally not only knows photography...he knows how to TEACH photography. And Marko knows Montreal! He is an instructor who is keenly aware of just the right pace, suggestions, critique, and encouragement his students need. He has more love and enthusiasm for what he does than should be legal! If you spend a couple of hours with Marko and your heart for photography hasn't grown five times bigger...you may want to take your pulse to check if you HAVE a heart. Whether you are a beginner, or feel like you have a fairly good grasp on basic photography, exposure, composition, etc. - this is a tour that will change the way you use your camera as well as change the way you see your world. Marko is an experienced, professional, and excellent photographer - and an energetic teacher and coach. To top it all off...this morning I had an email from Marko with links to TWO of his e-books. They are both excellent and are filled with photographs taken by Marko. Exposure Exposed is 100 pages of pictures and easy to follow instructions, tips, and clearly explained techniques. These just add to the treasure! Our day ended with our heads and hearts full - and with the joy of having made a new friend. Thanks, Marko!
