A nice place to rent bikes along the trail
    Jason O.

I was in Montreal on for a business trip and wasn't able to bring my bike along with me. Fortunately I found Ma Bicyclette and was able to correspond with Stephanie before my arrival and send them all my measurements from my bike so they could get everything set up. When I arrived they were slammed with customers so it took a while to get my bike but that was cool. I brought my own pedals, and they were able to quickly transfer them to the bike. Regarding fit they were not sophisticated to get all my measurements transferred but they were able to get the bike dialed in close enough. Important tip! They do not have Garmin mounts on the bikes so if you want to use your computer bring your own mount! I had to carry mine in my pocket which was not terrible but not ideal either. Ma Bicyclette was certainly the best option to ride next to bringing my own bike. The equipment appeared fairly new and operated flawlessly. Carbon Cannondale with Shimano 105 not too shabby! The location is perfect, just a short walk from the rail and situated right on a great bike path!

We just took a cycling vacation to Montreal. What a wonderful city. So much to do, so much to see, so much to sample. And, so bike friendly. We planned to ride both the Tour la Nuit (a night ride) and the Tour de I'lle (the largest single cycling event in the world- about 30,000 cyclists) and we needed bikes. So, we rented a tandem from Ca Roule (another bike rental place) for the la Nuit tour and rented hybrid bikes from My Bicyclette for the I'lle ride. Our rental choices were planned more for our off-the-bike site seeing itinerary than anything else. Dealing with Ca Roule was disappointing (badly maintained bikes & bill inflation) but renting from My Bicyclette was an excellent experience. Dave (the owner) is an obvious biker and was very flexible with our changing needs. (We first reserved bikes for a one day rental, than changed the rental to 24 hours. Since we only needed the bikes for the Tour, Dave accommodated us by allowing us to pick up at closing and return the next day for a one day rental charge.) He made our bike rental easy. The bikes were Rocky Mountain hybrids, male and female, fairly light, well maintained and... they shifted smoothly. An important but much overlooked feature when renting bikes. We were fitted according to height. The only downside is getting there. But it's actually easy, take the Metro to Lionel-Groulx station, walk a few blocks past Atwater Market, across the blue foot bridge and turn right. Then check out beautiful, friendly Montreal on a GOOD bike.

Perfect location for bike rentals. You can take a long ride east or a shorter ride west into Old Montreal. Rentals include helmets and optional lock. Staff are friendly and helpful. Scenery is lovely. Recommended!

Great service in English and French. We rented a family bike to ride around with my toddler, and I would definitely rent here again

Cool store by the Lachine Canal. Really friendly staff and the bikes are so much better than bixi rentals.

We biked a bit under 14 miles--along Canal de Lachine, out to René Lévesque Park & back--and the bikes performed well.

If we were staying long enough to cook, I'd be heading straight back there tomorrow . Frederick is a certified guide and while his knowledge is near encyclopedic, he never drones. The gentleman working in the shop was very kind and offered to have my bike ready by the end of the day as it was simply a problem with the chain (This came to a complete shock to me as I have often waited up to a week to have my bike fixed). He also offered to stay an extra 20 minutes after closing so I could stop by after work to pick it up. A+ for effort service-wise. The cost of fixing my bike was a bit steep I won't lie but I guess what can you expect when you get day-of service. Regardless, I am not sure that the work done was worth what I paid but this place was certainly good in a fix and I will negotiate better upon my next visit

Compared to a lot of new coffee shops brewing new wave coffee beans that tend to me more fruity and acidic, this one brews old school italian coffee. I held off on a negative review for nearly a year, giving the benefit of the doubt. I purchased a Schindelhauer bike from them and the online payment system calculated purchase and shipping (great price). This was a mistake with the payment system and I called the next day and we figured out shipping. The bike arrived damaged unfortunately. I took dozens of photos and tried to submit to ups directly. Unfortunately a damage claim has to be submitted by the shipper. This involved UPS and a shipping company they use called freightcom. Velo lifestyles blamed freightcom, so I reached out to freightcom.... They blamed velo... you see where this is going. Keep in mind this is nearly a year into this! I had an unusable bike until the manufacturer actually sent me a fender to mount. I originally had tried to bend the damage away from the tire to make the bike usable. I give credit to Schindelhauer for providing the part... it really wasn't their issue. Velo put it off so long I emailed Germany and got it myself! They now claim that they no longer ship to the United States due to shipping issues. I would avoid purchasing from this company due to a shady handling of the shipping claim. They seem nice on the phone and might be a good option if you pick up in person. I can speak to my experience with them. I would avoid any business that won't support their customers or stand behind a sale.
