Do not recommend. At best they are ok, but inconsistent at worst you'll leave sore. I visited both locations. The original location gave an ok massage. It wasn't great, but it was fine. Although it did end a little early. Afterwards the masseuse offered me a glass of champagne. She told me they would give it to me when I went to sit down. When I got dressed and walked out (they don't have changing room so you do have to get dressed in the room you're getting the massage in) I walked into a lobby and their relaxation room was completely dark. My friend did not come out yet and I asked if I could sit. They directed me instead to a chair next to the manicure chair. I wasn't even offered water... We weren't given champagne and we weren't given a chance to relax after our treatment. I've gotten a ton of massages at very high-end spas and cheap places as well, and I have never not been given water. However, this masseuse offered me champagne, & I was then given nothing. As my friend came out, I noticed that all of the other workers were standing around with their coats on ready to leave. We didn't book the last appointment of the day, but I guess they didn't have any other appointments after us so we had to cut our visit short & just leave? One of the things that drew me to this place was their cute relaxation room & I thought it would be nice since we were celebrating a special occasion to enjoy a glass of champagne together in it. Their second location is a lot smaller. But we were welcomed into the relaxation room... It isn't quite as nice, but at least we weren't kicked out onto the street! Now let's talk about the services... again I came with a friend and again we both got massages. However, my friend had a different experience than I did. She got a much more professional European style massage where the masseuse asked her about trouble spots, asked her if her pressure was good & made sure she was comfortable the whole time. I on the other hand, got a much less professional experience. The room was so hot. It felt like a sauna. Now granted you do want it to be warm & comfortable, but this was a little too hot, especially when they put all the blankets and everything over you. Moreover The masseuse didn't ask any questions. She just went to work at maximum strength & when I said something about the pressure she was confused. Majority of the massage was done with her forearms and elbows digged into me & left me feeling really sore. The music went off halfway through the experience so I was just listening to her breathing during it. I did have to ask twice for the pressure to be slightly softer, particularly with her elbows digging into me. Overall, the massage left a lot to be desired & I even thought of ending it early as it wasn't great. But more so I felt a little disappointed to find that we had extremely different experiences. I would compare my friends experience to more of a professional higher end spa (just the practices of the massage itself... Obviously not talking about the facility) while mine was more of a quick no-frills one that you would get at a much cheaper price point. While not all together completely unpleasant the whole time, I did find myself, wondering when it would be over (not something I've ever thought during a massage before!!!) & now my shoulder is a little sore from it. I really think I now need a massage from getting my massage. Would I recommend ZZ... Not really, no. Honestly, it's a mixed bag- You don't know what you're gonna get. Out of the 4 massages from both locations... Only 1 I would consider good (according to my friend), 2 were just okay, & this last 1 was honestly bad. I wish I had a better review to share. I was really hoping to say the second experience was so much better than the first. But alas, the massage part was worse (but I did forget to mention that the service was much better. The receptionist was much more friendly at this location. ) Maybe if I had the technician my friend had this would be completely different review! At the moment, I don't plan to go back after these 2 experiences... I do feel like it was a little bit of a waste of time and money and honestly, my back hurts now! I didn't want to be mean during the last massage, but I actually was contemplating getting up and telling them at the front This was not working for me. (I couldn't think of a way to tell the masseuse how to make it better. What was I gonna say, change up your whole style?) - but it really wasn't good. I was gifted a 90min massage bc there was a $50 special for Black Friday and it was amazing. Apparently you reserve your service and they pick the location for you however if you want to change locations you can call and ask. We arrived and were let up by the door person and were greeted so warmly upon arrival. The waiting room is a little small but the faux foliage and the fountain makes the space so cute and serene and really semi private. Plus, they don't make you wait for long. I got Joanna, who I think is Russian and she did not disappoint. My massage seemed a little short (I didn't time it per say but I checked the time on my way out) but it was effect so I couldn't complain if I wanted to. She was so attentive and knew exactly what I needed after my initial consultation on problem areas. My lower back an ld shoulders thank her immensely! Don't waste your money or time or energy . I had a birthday gift card package booked here, and honestly, I dont recommend . The booking process is not smooth. You cannot easily book directly through the website, and when you call, it is difficult to reach someone. I had previously used part of my gift card for a massage at a different location on 36th street, and found the service underwhelming. There wasn't a good first impression. When clients arrive, they are usually offered champagne or a mimosa and chocolate. I was told to sit, but I noticed that every guest who arrived after me was offered this by the front desk. The same staff member walked past me several times to offer other guests, but I was never offered anything. It made me wonder whether it was reserved for a particular kind of guest, or whether I needed to make a certain type of payment first. I eventually went to the front desk to ask if I was entitled to it, and she said yes. I then had to ask, "Can I get one too? Because I still had money left on the gift card, I decided to return with an open mind and try a different location., I booked a Swedish massage and facial here ,after a long flight, hoping for a relaxing welcome back to New York experience. The massage was very disappointing. It did not feel relaxing, intentional, or therapeutic. It felt more like my skin was being rubbed than my muscles being massaged. There was no real kneading, no focus on pressure points, and no attention to tension areas, even after I repeatedly asked for more pressure. My feet still felt tense afterward, and there was no meaningful foot or head massage. Although I have immediately booked a massage somewhere else. The facial was better in communication, but still disappointing. I booked because I specifically wanted steam and extractions, which I mentioned over the phone. After exfoliating, the esthetician went straight into extractions. When I asked about steaming first, I was told the steaming machine had not been available for a while, and the only available one was being used by another esthetician. That should have been communicated before the service. She also used a vibrating metal spatula type instrument on my face without explaining it first, and I had to ask if my face was being shaved. The worst part was the front desk. After both services, I went to pay my remaining balance. I was already dissatisfied, she asked how it was nonchalantly, I hesitantly said "Great" with a smile because other customers were around and I did not want to discuss my dissatisfaction publicly. She handed me the payment machine and said in a snappy tone that it would ask if I wanted to tip or add a custom tip. I usually keep cash for tipping when I am happy with a service as I love to hand it directly to the staff, but with how the front desk spoke to me about tipping , turned the machine toward me, and stood there staring while waiting for me to tip, I felt uncomfortable. I entered something just to move past the awkwardness. Immediately after I pressed the machine, she said in front of everyone, "Is that all you are tipping? You are tipping just mentions amount ...?" I asked, "May I know what the problem is? Have I paid for the services or am I owing?" She said yes, I had paid. I asked, "Does the payment come with gratuity or a service charge?" She said no. So I said well, I have made my payment, we are good. Then she asked me in front of everyone, "Are you from here?" I said no. She continued, "Do you live here?" I said no. Then, "So you are just visiting?" I said yes. At that point, it felt like I was being interrogated in a detention cell, over an optional tip. That was when I knew I was not giving a cash tip. I will not be intimidated into tipping for a service I already paid for, especially when I was not happy with the service. No guest should be treated this way because a spa calls itself luxury or best rated. Luxury should show in the quality of care, communication, professionalism, and guest experience, not bare minimum service topped with mimosa and chocolate. read more

The entrance is really unassuming but once you enter you get hit with instant relaxation vibes with the calming aroma, music, and atmosphere. All workers are so kind and calming. Always went here for their two person massages and only thing I notice is the quality of the massages varies from person to person and each time it was either too hard, too soft, or techniques of massage was quite different so definitely recommend doing research if you prefer something specific. Otherwise their dessert cheesecakes are soooo good and perfect ending to a spa day. There's also sometimes complimentary soaps and I've collected a bunch over the years, they smell so great! I've been to 56th and 36th locations many times. Receptionist turnover is fairly frequent so don't get attached. The prices can't be beat with the deals which tells me to make sure to tip well. I booked the Couples "Pamper Us" package for my girlfriend's birthday and paid an additional $30 to schedule it on a weekend. We later had to reschedule to a weekday, and when I called to change the appointment, I was told I would receive a refund for the price difference between the weekend and weekday rates. On the day of our appointment, I reminded the front desk about the refund, but I was only refunded $1. The staff explained that after tax, the difference came to just one dollar -- which makes no sense, as I had already prepaid for the full package through their website. It felt like they adjusted the numbers simply to avoid refunding the proper amount. I was also told I would receive an email explanation, but I never heard back from anyone at the spa. Having to discuss pricing and refunds in front of my girlfriend completely ruined the birthday experience I had planned. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed in how this was handled -- both the lack of transparency around pricing and the poor communication afterward. The spa is conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan, but feels very serene inside. First, we were welcomed into our semi-private section in the lounge area, where we were offered champagne and mimosas before it was time to head to our room for the 50 minute deep tissue massages. The massages were excellent and it was a cute surprise for the masseuses to end it by handing us a rose. We then headed back to our lounge section to enjoy some delicious cheesecakes as well as more drinks. They even brought out a tray of soaps with scents from around the world for us to smell and choose 3 each to take home as a spa gift! Upon walking in, I could tell that this spot is much better than the rest for a massage on Classpass in the area. For 30 credits I got a 50 minute Swedish massage and was offered room temp, cold or lemon water and was sat in one of the many private seating sections covered by lots of fake plants, fake candles and a huge tv screen that had a pixelated video of the beach. The bathrooms are also very clean, have humidifiers with essential oils running, and individual towels to wipe your hands after washing instead of paper towels. The masseuse herself was great and she took great care of me. I will definitely be a regular at ZZ! read more

We checked in and was quickly guided to our room, it was decorated so cute and romantic for Valentine's Day. Hilda was my masseuse and she has hands of an angel! First she asked what parts of my body I wanted more focus on. She went straight so work and made me feel so relaxed My favorite part might be the hot towel towards the end of the massage. It was truly relaxing. Then we had a little sit down private area. We were given cake, a rose, candles in water, and a drink of choice. Everyone in ZZ Day Spa was so friendly and kind. Was loving this place until today when I was told I owed $430. I had bought the subscription package with automatic payments every month but today was told my card had not been going through yet no one contacted me prior or any time I came in for a treatment for FOUR MONTHS. This ended up costing me a ton all at once, a major dent in my finances and even more upsetting given I had just come out of a session that started late, was less than the 50 minutes advertised plus the 1st time no one offered a drink (didn't want anyway but please offer) prior even though I arrived early. Granted I was offered a freebie to compensate but I believe that was part of the initial package anyway ("birthday gift"). The staff is generally very good but watch out for the billing issues and make sure you get what you pay for. read more
