3/26/22 430pm I love this place. Packed to the brim but they carry work boots up yo a size 17! I come here for the American made Carolina boots. The guys here know their boots and can help you out! Come in and check them out! They also sell CBD accessories that you need for sure from the leave to the creams which definitely work for people who have joint pain. The price is worth it! They have a great selection of smoking accessories, their incense smell amazing and actually last and fill a room up like they are supposed to so come check those out too. As much as I wish I could say I recommend these guys still sadly I do not. I bought a pair of boots advertised as waterproof with a stitch soul from Carolina. Chad said they have been selling the boot for a very long time so I trusted it. I have also bought another pair of boots from here before which were so incredibly uncomfortable, but I chalked that up as not the sellers's fault but the maker of the boots fault this time after a number of days with wet socks I decided to bring the boots back because they are backed by three month water guarantee (had the boots around a month). After dropping them off for the water test, they called me and said there was no moisture, It was my feet sweating so the older guy in here proceeds to tell me that I need an insulated boot and a wool sock which to me makes no sense why would I need another thermal barrier if my feet are sweating so much to make me think that water is leaking into my boots? He told me I have no common sense got very rude and disrespectful with me on the phone and I absolutely will not be shopping with these guys again. He told me the water test was ran with my boots in a bucket of water with a piece of paper in them to me that is not even comparable to the simulation of a job site. He told me I was an idiot and he has been doing the stuff so long that I should just take his word for it. Absolutely horrible business. read more

I've been a customer of ZZ Boots having purchased several pairs of boots dating back to 1999 having been a current resident of Columbus for the past 25 years. I just recently purchased 2 pairs of climbing boots for my cable job and a beautiful pair of Los Altos western boots that were on display. Quite literally the worst boot store I've ever walked into. The guy who walks around and helps is nice, but the man who barks orders (I would assume Roger based off of replies to the bad reviews) ruins everything. Dark, dingy, and crowded and the attitude makes it even worse. Unprofessional and rude. Don't waste your time here unless you want Harley Davidson, boots from the 90's, or things that look like they could be dry rotted and to be treated with a poor attitude. read more

I'm really happy I decided to go into ZZ for a pair of work boots. I was able to sneak in before they closed at 9pm during the week, and snag a solid pair of Carolina's for my delivery job. The middle aged man behind the counter sized my feet, even though I stated I was a 10.5. I'm actually a 9, and grateful for the passion of the trade by these guys. A ok old school shop. Tons and tons of boots here, but you'll need some help finding them. There is also a smaller variety of chaps, vests, jackets...and of course the 'lace' adult side. Prices seemed high but admittedly I don't shop for boots everyday. They also don't offer military discount. A lot of USA made and name brands. Staff was polite and very helpful finding stuff. Little too cramped and unorganized for just browsing for my taste but left with what I needed, would recommend for a visit. read more

The place is a mess, the people that work there are a bunch of miserable hillbillies who think they are real tough guys and the quality of the merchandise is garbage. I bought a pair of work boots here, the dickwad wanted to charge me like $25 bucks to measure my damn foot and the shoe came apart maybe a month after I bought it. Look at the picture. My next pair I got at a Timberland store. They were friendly, store was visually appealing, and the shoes don't fall apart. Oh and they didn't charge me to measure my god damn foot. I hope this place goes bankrupt and closes real soon and the jerks can go get a job at McDonalds because that's all they are good for. I've talked with the wild man (the owner) as he frequents small businesses in surrounding counties and supports them! My dad drove up there with my brother and bought a pair of boots. He found out he had been wearing the wrong size his whole life. They fitted him and he said a lot of the leg pain he's been experiencing is lessened since getting fitted. The owner is a friendly guy and I really enjoy talking to him when he stops in my bakery. 5 stars! read more

I thought this place was great. Not in love with the fact that it's basically also a sex/smoke shop but whatever. I went in looking for women's steel toe work boots, guy there took time to help me. They have signs everywhere that basically say "LET US HELP YOU PLEASE" and I genuinely appreciate that as someone who always tries to not be a bother to employees. I drove all around Central Ohio looking for motorcycle boots, including the big motorcycle dealerships you might think of, as well as big box hunting/fishing and some of the high-end boots stores with names comparable to the Detroit hockey club. Nope. Only once I went to ZZ Boots did I find EXACTLY what I needed. I've only bought boots from them since, and have never regretted making that drive. Is it fancy? Oh heck no, it's jammed to the rafters with boots, and they definitely know boots. If you're OK with humble appearances and somewhat cranky but SUPER-informed staff, then you're going to get the boots you need. Not only do they have boots, but belts, chaps, hats, all kinds of other gear for bikers and more. I'd note that this isn't just ZZ Boots, it's ZZ Boots + Wild Man's Leather & Lace... so the cashier area is in the lingerie section. You might leave younger kids in the car while checking out. I've never seen anything pornographic there, but it's definitely in the sexy outfit/lube kind of category, which might shock the prudish. Don't let this deter you. This place is a dive in appearance with stacked boxes of shoes and leather goods in the back. The changing room has old lingerie models cut out and taped to the wall and a black light for a little something special but it's all about finding a pair of boots or shoes that fit and they have them. Robert helped me and let me tell you that he knows his inventory. Yeah, I asked about the gray haired older party guy running around and he's the owner and we all know how owners can be. This place is a hot mess. A guy I'm assuming the manager or owner told us to get out of the aisle and no one was allowed down that aisle and the fire department would shut him down if they saw us in that aisle. It was because the boxes of boots were stacked almost to the ceiling and if the boxes fell down it would be an avalanche. The reason we went down that aisle was because we were looking for boots and it wasn't roped off. He was rude and it was so weird that we got the hell outa there after less than two minutes. I think the older gentleman is the owner. The guy is good. He looked at my boots and told me how old they were and what I needed. He is definitely a veteran he talks like one. I appreciated that. Ended up purchasing his recommendation. 3 days later my lower back pain is gone. My feet don't hurt after walking around on uneven terrain. Definitely going to keep buying from them. read more

Went their today to look for a new par of western boots. I have walked out of my other ones. Went to the store to find it's stacked to the calling with boots in narrow aisles kinda like a episode-out of hoarders. The scraggly long-haired gray rude guy sucks. I told him I was looking for a specific boot I Gave the model and make of it and he said they don't even make them any more. I told him I can get them on amazon but I like to buy local and keep that money in town. I showed him and he flat out said amazon is lying to you. Just a very rude person. Called ahead for a black felt, flat top western hat for a birthday gift. When I went to pick it up, Mr. showed me a cab driver hat, so I showed him a picture of the style I wanted. I notice he wasn't wearing a mask but I had mine on and would social distance. He then walked me to the only black felt hat they had in the store. It was black with a pinched front and a leather band around it. Not exactly the style but I decided to go with it since I needed it the next day. We walked to his register to ring it up. I noticed there was 2 white stains on the band and asked Mr. if he can take any off for it. He said no, took the hat turned his back to me. When he handed it back, the stains were gone. As I looked closer, I noticed a gray smudge near the front and made him aware of that as well. He took the hat, licked his thumb, wiped off the smudge and handed it back to me. I told him I needed to make a phone call about it and went to my car. I left after calling another store that had the hat. I don't recommend this store until we are out of the pandemic. Horrible service! I've bought boots there since I was a teen. Some 20 years of patronage. I took my daughter there and bought her a pair of boots. The sole came off of the boots the first day she wore them to school! I drove 45 minutes to the store w the receipt, box and boots. They refused to return them! They tried to say that my daughter caused it. Ummm, no! A brand new pair of boots shouldn't fall apart in one wearing. I just wanted to return them. Finally they offered for me to leave them so the boss could look at them. Or I could come back in 3 hours. Leave the boots and leave w/o a refund? I don't think so. Then they offered to "fix" them. No, I want my money back. I don't want to worry when the other boot will fall apart or the glue you'll slap on will fail. Now I'm out $160. Horrible service! read more
