Let me preface this review by saying that I am not a runner. I stopped by to look for new sneakers to wear for walking. It was extremely busy on a weekend and you take a number near the entrance to be helped by a staff member (like at the deli counter). Although they had several staff members working, they seemed to be struggling to keep up with all of the customers waiting to be helped. They carry a few models each of several different running shoe brands (Hoka, Brooks, etc) and also have a small selection of Birkenstock and Oofos shoes. The selection is not huge, but the shoes are good quality. They also carry running accessories and Vuori sportswear for both men and women. I would say if you are looking for the latest Nikes, this is not that kind of store. If you are a runner, this is a specialized small business that would be worth a visit.

Listen Burt (left foot) & Ernie (right foot) have been on fire! I am flat footed and I have plantar fasciitis. When I walk for 10 mins it feels like my foot has been stretched Somethen serious. My calf AND my hip starts to hurt. I wear crocs because it is easier for me and narrow nikes because thats what I had in my closet. After taking a walk today to get my health on track, I realized that I needed shoes that would make me feel comfy. Pros: The store and associates were amazing. I walked in and was helped in under a min. The scanning technology that they used to record my feet was pretty dope. I also loved that they watched me walk on a treadmill. They provided Burt & Ernie with 3 options and I ended up picking out the Saucony size 11.5 shoe! These jokers are so comfy and I feel like I can walk a mile with Jesus lol!!! Cons: not the best looking shoes for a 33 yr old. BUT, i'd rather have comfort over beauty at this point lol. I RECOMMEND them!! Oh oh oh, to put the cherry on the cake, they value diversity and aren't ashamed to let you know. They have a visible sign on the outside of their store that says the value ALL races, genders, orientation etc. I likey!!!

Expert Customer Service! I needed new workout shoes and wanted expert advice in understanding new brands, technology, and styles. I went to Front Runner (Lane Ave) vs 'the mall'. Been a HOKA enthusiast but seems their designs have changed over the last few years and KYLE, my fitness-kick consultant, was super helpful. He presented ~ 5-6 different brands to help me narrow down the selection based on fitness needs, comfort (& also to fit custom orthotics). He was informative and patient while I went thru the trying-on and walking-about process.... Ended with 2 pair of of BROOKS GLYCERIN! THANKS KYLE! If you want real expertise in understanding your fitness shoe lifestyle - stop in and check out Front Runners knowledgeable team.

I don't know where to even start! I LOVE Front Runner. I wish I could give this review more than 5 stars. Everything about this experience from start to finish was excellent. Absolutely perfect. Seriously, other businesses need to take notes because this is the type of quality service customers desire. I went to Front Runner looking for the perfect running shoe. I arrived around 3pm on a Wednesday and was helped within 5 minutes of arriving without having to ask. Chance was so kind, patient and extremely thorough with my evaluation. He was knowledgeable, asked the right questions and then directed me to the Fleet Feet technology to gather my specific measurements. This technology scans your feet and then provides information on size, width, arch and much more regarding both feet. After your scan, you run on the treadmill and watch the recording back to identify potential areas of concern. You also get an emailed copy of your results. Super cool! After reviewing all of the data, Chance gathered 6 pairs of shoes to try out. I was able to run on the treadmill with each shoe to see how they felt. After each run I told Chance how the shoe felt and he knew exactly which shoe to try next to fix the issue I had. Again, his patience was incredible! Not once did I feel like I was being rushed or that I was annoying him with my pickiness. 12 pairs of shoes later we finally got the perfect match. I am so pleased with my experience at Front Runner. I had a great experience with this store back in 2007 and am even more pleased today. I live out of state but would travel back just to get this stellar customer service and customized experience.

Duly impressed, yes yes. Let it be known that I'm a runner, but not much of one. I mainly run inside, and I'm not super awesome at it. But hey, a girl's gotta be healthy, right? Anyway, I just stress fractured my heel (win) partly because of my ridiculous underpronation issues and partly because I've been too cheap to by new running kicks since... December 2008. And I run regularly. Yup. Headed to Front Runner on Christina C's recommendation. My ponytailed gentleman shoe-helper was pleasant and very helpful. He watched me walk, examined the bottom of the shoes I was wearing to see the way they've worn, and let me try on three different sizes each in four different brands of shoes before settling on some classic Nike Pegasus 27s. Apparently I've been wearing the wrong size shoes all these years. Who knew? (My ponytailed friend did!). Anyway, I recommend and will return to Front Runner for all my running needs... once my heel heals. HEEL HEALS! HAHA! :D

I love front runner's staff! They are all so nice and helpful finding perfect shoe for me everytime! :)

Three things stand out to me about this Dick's store location…read more 1. It is busy all the time. Any day of the week. Any time of day. 2. It is very clean and merchandise is always nicely arranged. 3. Online order pickup is great. They always have your order ready on time and you never have to wait long at the pick up desk. Considering how busy they are (see #1), I am always pleasantly surprised by this.

Hadn't been to this store in eons. I was desperate to find a pelvic and/or thigh/groin support…read morebelt/strap. I already scoped out another store, but found nothing. It popped in my head to try Dick's. I thought for sure they'd have one, considering it's an athletic store, and huge at that. I am a 53-yr-old woman with RA and fibro, and I severely strained the thigh, back, pelvis and groin areas. I had to use my cane to enter the store; I grabbed a small cart to lean on, as well. The guy standing near the entrance said hi, but didn't ask if I was looking for something specific. I looked around, lost, so looped back to him and asked where support belts and such would be. He told me they were located upstairs. He then mentioned an elevator, and pointed in the general direction. I knew I couldn't take the escalator, because I needed to lean on the cart at that point. I searched all over for the elevator, and nothing. I finally looped back around to the restroom sign, and eventually realized a small makeshift sign was taped to the wall, noting the elevator was down the corridor. It was very generic and not noticeable from afar. The elevator is way in the back, hidden, old, worn and it reeked inside. The #2 button was taped over, and only #3 or #1 could be pressed. I don't know why there is even a #3, but I chanced it anyway. It took me to level two. lol I finally found the wall where all of the braces were attached to, albeit quite far away from the elevator. The area is quite congested, and not really made for a cart to traverse. I was relieved to find the wall of braces...only to be let down. Out of all the rows and rows of braces, straps, support this and that, not one single item for the pelvis and/or groin. I didn't even see a spot where it's supposed to be, so I suspect they don't even carry them in-store. Additionally, I noticed there were no price labels anywhere, so it was a complete guessing game as to cost. In severe pain, I had to wobble away and get back to the 2nd floor. I took the escalator, and left the cart there. I didn't want to get back into the smelly, clunky, old-sounding elevator again. A young female employee saw me when I got to the bottom, and asked if I found everything I was looking for. I said, "No..." She just chuckled and said, "Oh..." I then replied, "I couldn't find what I was looking for..." She didn't say anything back. No offer to help, find another employee, etc. After going to a 3rd store, I gave up. I just ordered online and I get my brace tomorrow. I was just hoping to have one today, and maybe even try it on, to ensure it fits well, etc. Such a shame that Dick's didn't deliver. A huge store like that should have them as a no-brainer...and on the 2nd floor to boot. You'll have people coming in probably in pain, so why put them on the 2nd floor? lol Makes no sense. The employees need to be more connected and interactive. Lastly, that elevator is horrible. And please make signs which direct you from the point of entry all the way to the elevator! This is basic 101 stuff.
