Came here on a weekday at around 6pm. My friend and I are new to running and wanted to get our feet analyzed to understand what shoes would be best for us. We saw two associates were helping other customers so we waited near the treadmills and computers. After 15 minutes we were starting to wonder how long it would take to get some help. We noticed a few other people in the store were also waiting to be helped. One of the associates came over to help their customer get an analysis of their feet, but never acknowledged us or let us know that they would help us after helping their current customer. After over 30 minutes of standing near the analysis equipment and not getting any recognition or assistance we left. In that entire time they only helped the customers they were with when we first entered the store. We ended up going to Columbus Running Company and had a wonderful experience! So if you need shoes beware of when you come here because you might be waiting a long time before receiving any assistance, or just go somewhere else read more

Pros: Staff were very helpful and explained where to find everything. Discount section has really good deals on sneakers. Lots of parking. Had some cute activewear. Cons: Sneaker selection was much smaller than anticipated. read more

I stopped in at 2:27pm on Sunday and didn't have much luck here. This is just my experience and this one visit so maybe your experience will be better. In the end, I ended up walked out and decided to take my business somewhere else. No one greeted me when I walked in or ever asked if they could help with anything or if I needed help. I looked at several different types of shoes in the men's section and came here as I was looking at Brooks website and they said it was in stock here. I will add too that there is no pricing on the shoes which is a bit annoying. I was at station #3 in the men's section looking for help. I saw there were folks being helped around me but not all the employees were busy and I just stood around at the men's section. After about 5 more mins of waiting then a group came in and someone greeted them from across the store and said someone would be right with them still never addressing me. I decided at that moment I had spent enough time and decided just to go. Guess another pair of shoes just wasn't meant to be today. On my way out I was finally acknowledged as an employee said have a good day sir from the down the way. Not good on service but this could just be a chance encounter. I was really hoping to have a conversation on the types of shoes recommended for long walking, and what I should be looking at and the price points. I'll have better luck someplace else but a very disappointing walk-in experience for me. read more

The customer service is extremely poor. They store employees including the managers do not answer the phone. They will tell you they do not have time to answer the phone. What a terrible experience in this store and never had such a horrible experience with any other sports shop before. The staff didn't have any clue about anything they sell, very incompetent and fooling us by hiding a lot of info including pricing to finish the sale and get a commission. The staff treated us with a lot of disrespect and scolded for no reason. Will never go to this store and don't recommend to anyone who has a self respect and value their time and want a peace of mind. Been shopping at the Hilliard location since 2018 as a VIP member. The customer service at this location continues to decline and today was by far the worst it has been. Only two women working, both failing (or actually caring) to acknowledge the order in which customers arrived to determine who was next. After they finally stated that there was one person in front of me, and then later helping that person, one of the women proceeded to help someone who arrived after I did. I gently reminded her that I was next, and her response was, "I'm doing the best that I can," and that the other customer who had arrived after me knew what shoe he wanted. I'm not sure why that made a difference in the order of which they determined to help people, but obviously this kid did not know what shoe he wanted because after she brought it out to him, he was indecisive, so I was left waiting longer. By this point it had been approximately 30 minutes I've been there and it was obvious that neither employee really wanted to help me. I mean the store had only been open for about 45 minutes. It was obvious they weren't interested in helping me,so I left empty handed. I had a similar situation there a few months ago and also left without being able to purchase shoes, but at least the guys working were polite & acknowledged they were busy. Like at this point, I realllllly need new running shoes!!! From reading some of the other reviews, it appears I am not alone. The employees at this location are definitely on the struggle bus with no end in sight!! read more

I arrived at 6:25pm ready to buy shoes. After waiting 30 minutes standing there holding the two pairs I needed to try on in my size to make my decision, the employee finally approached only to say the store was closing and I'd need to come back another day. Despite being there well before closing, they refused to help. Another waiting customer and I left. I went to Columbus Running Company and bought shoes that very same evening. I've bought two sets of shoes from here and I enjoy them both. Associates are very knowledgeable on what you ask for. I say I needed cushioning for loooong distance and they grabbed the perfects sets of shoes to choose from. Getting the VIP was great to get some money back for socks and miscellaneous items. I attempted to return a pair of shoes to this location that had been bought on 8/19/23 on 8/21/23. The shoes sat in the box in my car for the entire duration as I had ordered a different pair the same day. Jake the associate told me that I had worn the shoes and could return then only if I signed up for VIP and they deducted they amount from my return. Photos of the "worn" shoes in question are attached. Took the shoes to the worthington location and they returned with no issues. Just seemed like Jake wanted to scam me so he couldn't meet his numbers. read more

What a GREAT customer experience. We had a TERRIBLE experience recently at ROGUE FITNESS so this was a nice change (see review of Rogue Fitness). We were greeted with a smile as we entered and ask immediately if we needed help finding anything. The young lady was GREAT and very helpful. We ended up buying Things here that we intended to get at Rogue Fitness, but we certainly didn't get ANY help there so we ended up spending our money here and were glad we did !!! My search was to find HOKA athletic shoes on display and in inventory. Road Runner retail store had them and a good variety. I was very happy with Jeff, who was on the retail floor. He showed me the entire variety of HOKA they had. And while I didn't purchase (looking for yellow), I did grab a pair of OCs in white, black, and orange! #WhoDey! I am not a runner, but I sure saw all the things runners would look for in shoes and equipment. I even joined their Discount Membership club so I can get 10 - 15% off purchases. A strange warehouse looking sports, no running store that didn't have much to choose from. The selection was small and this was their grand opening over here in Hilliard. There was no sign on the building so if you didn't know the exact address you would not I ow it was event there. It's hidden up against 270 and between JD Equipment and Dave and Busters. We went for the big grand opening event, which was neither grand nor big. First of all they don't even have a sign on the building yet, so good luck finding it. Even the interior seemed unfinished. Maybe that's just their look, but when I compare to the photos posted here by the business, it doesn't seem to be their normal look. They had Dave and Busters there giving away some coupons and trinkets. Also a raffle for some kind of prize basket. There were some snacks to go along with that. We thought this was a sporting goods store, but it's really only clothes and shoes. read more

Jessie was amazing from the beginning. She figured out and helped guide me to the best running shoes for me. They feel like two clouds. If you are looking for new running shoes, stop what you are doing and go to Road Runner Sports. I had an incredible experience here when I was looking for new running shoes last month. I started running last year as a way to lose weight, and I found a passion for running. I have completed two half marathons this year, but I never followed a training program, followed running blogs, went to running specific stores... nothing. I previously just purchased a generic pair of running shoes at Dick's Sporting Goods and started running. Kim, the employee I worked with at Road Rummer, helped teach me so much about running during my hour long visit. She informed me about the type of shoes that would be a good fit based on my electronic foot scan/video of me running on the treadmill. She gave me information about compression socks, showed me around the store, and she was seriously the most helpful sales associate I've ever encountered. During the course of 1-1/2 hours he patiently evaluated my footgear needs through a color video recording while I trained on their treadmill, followed by being precisely measured on a stationary electronic machine. c) Next, Jacob carefully questioned me about how frequently I work out, on what preferred places and road surfaces, and my personal preferences for sneaker fit and support. c) Then we progressed to a preliminary selection of the most appropriate sneakers culled from five [5] major manufacturers, AFTER I was meticulously measured and fitted with new RoadRunnerSports Custom Designed Max Cushion Memory Foam Arch Support Inserts [nb, first they are heat treated in a specially designed machine; then, I stood on them for a specified time so that they would precisely mold to my soles and heels!]. d) We carefully evaluated each pair of sneakers after I 'tested them' in the store, finally agreeing on the ASICS GEL-Kayano 27 model. e) Results: now when I complete an hour or more of swift walking I no longer experience any knee, foot or hip discomfort/fatigue! This is a very nice, clean, and spacious store with a wide variety of sports products and clothing. I purchased a pair of shoes for boot camp from their online site and they were too small, so I went to the store to see if they would allow me to exchange them and it was not a problem at all. They had a great selection of shoes and the sales person and the assistant manager were very courteous, helpful, and are very knowledgeable about their products. Brought a friend in for foot analysis for inserts and shoes. I'm on my third pair of inserts and they have helped tremendously with shin splints, stress fractures, sciatica and bursitis. Since using customized inserts i have been able to complete several half marathons, as well as hike the Grand Canyon and Mount LeConte pain free!! Highly recommend the foot assessment and customized shoe inserts! Isaiah at the Hillard store helped my friend and I in this past visit. He was great!
