This place is awesome. I stopped by for a last minute gift for my former boss, and am so lucky I did. Ended up with a really unique vase with a wide variety of fresh hand-picked flowers- the selection there was great despite it being 3p on a Saturday! The flowers themselves were fantastic quality- my former boss specifically commented on how long they lasted. The price was really reasonable considering how elaborate the gift was. The store also sells other cool home goods like candles and essential oils, all curated from local businesses. The staff there were friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great ability to balance my preferences with their expertise, without making me feel either overruled or unsure of my choices. They gift wrapped my arrangement beautifully and with great care. What a fantastic addition to Halsted and the Bridgeport community. Zuzu's is awesome and the owner Magda is great! I just moved to Bridgeport and was looking for a place to buy flowers and greens that wasn't a Mariano's, Home Depot, etc. They have beautiful arranged bouquets or build your own option. I've gone in and given her a price and a color scheme and she works wonders! I'll take photos next time I'm there because the shop is decorated and arranged so beautifully. This review is far overdue, but nevertheless, we loved working with Magda! She is so creative and helpful. We had a limited floral budget and a big vision. She heard us out, heard our "perfect wedding" dream, and then took into consideration our budget. She gave solutions and alternatives to help keep us within our budget. The day of the wedding Madga was running behind schedule but she called well in advance to let us know so we would not worry / prep should we be cutting it close. Natalie and Zuzu's Petals supplied the flowers for our March 2014 wedding at the Patrick Haley mansion. At our initial meeting, Natalie sat down with us and was able to envision the perfect blend of flowers. All we provided was our color scheme! All centerpieces, bouquets, etc. were beautiful they day of the wedding. There was fresh rosemary in each bouquet which smelled amazing all night. The flowers were fresh, sturdy, and well put together. During the weeks leading up to the event, we had several changes and additions/subtractions on our end. Albeit a very late review, I wanted to reiterate how impressed we were with Zuzu's petals for our wedding. We ended up booking with Zuzu's Petals after our fabulous consultation that I mentioned initially. Natalie and her team at Zuzu's transformed our very urban venue into an indescribable event space. She took our vague ideas of having natural themes with the very odd chartreuse and royal blue color choices, and made the most stunning floral arrangements. She even purchased glassware to give the small votives an Asian/Moroccan feel. Needless to say, I came to Natalie with a lot going on in the way of a theme/look/colors. She took all of it and made it work flawlessly. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Thank you, Zuzu's, for the creativity. Thank you for being an incredible florist to work with, for taking all of the intricate and outlandish thoughts I had and making it all into the most amazing, visual experience at our reception. I worked at Zuzu's Petals for Magda in the summer of 2021 and was not paid after following up several times, asking about my payment. Then she laid me off and brushed off my requests to be paid for the work I completed. I still haven't been paid from helping with weddings, cleaning the store, washing buckets, and doing hours of work for Magda. Two other employees from the same time have also not been paid in full for their work for Magda. Please don't support this business. Magda put me and other employees in a really difficult position by refusing to pay us during a pandemic. Please shop somewhere that pays their workers for their time, it's the bare minimum. read more

i have never seen such gorgeous work in all my life. Take a look at the weddings featured on the ZZ webpage and you will see simple, elegant, and tasteful flowers. As a bride, you will encounter stress. Natalie and Dan listen and create your vision. When the flowers were delivered to my hotel room, I lost my breath as they were so beautiful. I wanted a wedding with peony on July 1st. Natalie made it happen (on a budget). Other vendors stated that peony in July would be very expensive. When I first went to visit ZUZU's, I explained that I wanted Pink Peonies on every table and a flower pedal runner in the grass. She said, "you want casual elegance." Wow, she got it in 10 minutes! Also, take it all the way and ask Natalie to put flowers on the cake. I did not have flowers on the cake and wish I would have. My cake was "just o.k." Knowing what I know now, I would have given her full creative control to add things along the way. I love flowers and knew I wanted to have them , but cannot believe how much they contributed to the day! :) Also, Check out what she does for the kids! I also loved her combination of simple pieces on the cocktail tables and more detailed pieces at the center of the dinner tables for the wedding. I couldn't be any more thrilled with ZuZu's Petals! We hired ZuZu's to provide flowers for our August 2011 Chicago wedding. My fiancé and I met with 2 other florists (both in the city) and then went for a shot in the dark by meeting with Natalie in Orland (we are both from Tinley Park). After looking at their website, I got a sense that ZuZu's wasn't your typical suburban florist that made bouquets exclusively with carnations and roses. Natalie's style is very city-chic and so tasteful! I immediately felt comfortable with her and could tell she understood my "vision" (even though my description of what I was looking for was pretty vague and I knew nothing about the flowers that I liked). She was also fantastic about working within our budget (even below it!), which was incredible. While her services may be more expensive than other suburban florists, she was a good value in comparison to the other city florists from whom we received proposals. Within 15 minutes of our meeting, I had a proposal in my email inbox (we literally were still on our way back to our city residence). She is extremely organized, juggling lots of changes here and there after we considering how many candles we wanted, how many tables we had, what types of flowers I wanted in my bridal bouquet, etc. When Natalie dropped off the bouquets for me and the ladies, I was so thrilled! The colors were so bright and amazing! The flowers were breathtaking! Our centerpieces at our reception were also great! The pictures speak for themselves. I would definitely agree with the above review--Natalie was so easy and awesome to work with. She was responsive, prompt and professional from day one. The flowers were GORGEOUS on my wedding day (exactly what I had wanted and more!) and were reasonably priced (bonus). She even included an extra boutonniere for my groom (who ended up needing it since I picked a delicate orchid which got smashed accidentally!). Zuzu's Petals came highly recommended to me which is why I am so bummed with the poor customer service and professionalism. I was in touch with Magda since the beginning and we set up our initial design presentation. My fiance and I drove down to the store for the appointment and when we got to the store the assistant said Magda wasn't there. Not knowing the reasoning behind her no-show and if it was an emergency or not, we were understanding about it. I proceeded to email Magda 3 times to try and reschedule. My fiance called the store. We still have not heard from anyone at Zuzu's Petals since June 28th when we were stood up. Bummer! read more

My flowers were never delivered to the church, personal flowers were all in poor condition/dead, my bouquet was not made to specifications, and corsages were dead. They did refund me for the flowers that were not delivered/dead but it was VERY disappointing to walk down the isle blind sighted and have no clue that none of my flowers were there (no one even told me beforehand that they wouldn't arrive). Though I did get an apology, I still have no clue what happened to cause all of the problems with the flowers. read more

I met with the owner for about an hour to discuss the floral design for my fall wedding. I thought the initial consultation went well. I was happy & excited with all of her ideas. I was told I'd receive a proposal via email within the next few days. Despite making several attempts at phone & email inquires, I never heard from her again. I'd rather receive a "I'm sorry, I no longer can do the wedding," than experience a complete vanishing act. It was disappointing. read more

Holy cow Natalie and her team are amazing! I first learned about Zuzu's Petals from a family friend who had used them for her daughter's wedding. She said that they were great to work with and their prices were extremely reasonable. Natalie was SO great to work with. I initially sent her my vision via email. We later set a meeting time and worked through some of my designs in an hour's time. I showed Natalie some examples of what I liked and explained the vision I was going for. I left her with some creative freedom, knowing that SHE is the expert. On the day of my wedding, I was completely SPEECHLESS! Her final products were WAY more amazing than anything I found on the bridal sites, pinterest, magazines, etc. My country charm/vintage/apple orchard wedding was classy, beautiful and totally magazine worthy! ;) The guests were totally blown away, and we received SO many compliments.
