The shoe associate couldn't answer 1 of my questions, seemed to know nothing about their products, and kept looking up on a handheld , their stock on shoes "I" asked about telling me every time they were out of my size, a woman's 9??! Won't be back, I see their business model now "quantity not quality". Soooo , I went back to REI because they've never let me down. "Abel" was freaking amazing. I ended up trying the "Alta Sand W Olympus 6", zero drop shoes. Tried them today on a shorter walk-6miles uphill. No pain and my toes could spread out like they were designed to do. Thank you Abel and thank you as always REI-Abq location

Just came to DICKS accompanying a last minute Christmas shopper (my partner). I was helping search…read morefor a very specific item/ brand/ color/ style. Unfortunately, we found the item in every size except for the specific one we needed. Then, along came Annette! I asked for her assistance and she went looking in the back and came back with extras to replenish the sizing. Except, I missed the update when my partner mentioned it was a different version of the item that we needed. Annette patiently went looking for the new item in the back. When Annette returned, she realized it was a slightly different variation than she had meant to grab. Annette left and came back every single time with a smile and offering to help us find other items. DICKS, if you're reading this, I think Annette needs a raise and/or promotion. Her willingness to go above and beyond was way more than I'm used to. Thank you Annette! DISCLAIMER: I'm not related to Annette, I've never met her before, nor did she pay me. I'm simply in NM for the first time ever. Guess I'm used to the South and Northeast

Be careful when picking up your gun from this store. My husband and I traveled from Santa Fe to…read moreAlbuquerque to pick up a shotgun he had ordered online and had sent here for pickup. Someone called him from a number that was very similar to the store number, but not the same. We got there a few minutes after the store opened and went to the back to the gun counter, checked in, and were helped right away. They went to look for the gun but couldn't find it, so they checked their computer and it showed that it hadn't been delivered yet, but would be there in two days. Great. We started to leave, but headed back to make sure they had my husband's correct info to contact him (because he hadn't gotten an email he was supposed to receive), and we decided to ask for the tracking number so that we could know for certain when it arrived. I looked up the tracking number and it showed the gun had been delivered two days prior--it was there somewhere. So we showed them, and they looked in the back for about fifteen minutes before someone emerged and told us they had found it on someone's desk. Whew! So then my husband filled out all his info for the background check and when that was all done we were told there was a seven day waiting period. Well, that goes against Federal law, but whatever. We came back 8 days later, when they called and said we could pick it up, and that went smoother, just took awhile to get helped. So moral of the story--check your tracking if they say they don't have your gun!

As I walked up I asked if they had cleats and the one talking could not stop for a second but another employee told me "they are back by the stairs". Didn't offer to help and just pointed. After looking around I left the store completely disgusted with their service. I was forced to return due to 2 other stores not having any in stock. I chose a pair of cleats and asked for football gloves. An employee tried to point in another direction and only agreed to show me when I asked if I could interrupt their conversation and have someone show me what gloves they had. Teen (or early 20s) employees should not be managed by another teen (or early 20s) individual. Learn what customer service is if you are going to be working retail. You are not paid to socialize! I would have rather spent my hard earned money elsewhere!

As we walked in he asked the lady at the register where the restroom was, rudely, she replied, we do not have public restrooms, so we walked right back out, loaded the baby, and went home. We will never buy from Big 5 again. When we told our family members my son said he stopped shopping there for the exact same reason. To us it was more about not having a restroom accessible to customers but to get the rudeness as well was just that much more disappointing and upsetting. I will be sure to spread the experience.
