Zuly's is by far my favorite New Mexican restaurant I've ate at, the owner Chalako is awesome and extremely polite every time! The food is always amazing, and in my opinion the best chili cheese fries in the state, his chili is just phenomenal! It's a cozy little restaurant with nice outside dining as well, over all a really nice ambiance. Drove from Taos just to eat here based on the reviews and it did not disappoint! Breakfast enchiladas with bacon were on point. Two hour drive to the airport, 2.5 hour flight and another two hour drive to Zuly's and it was worth every minute. If you are anywhere near Dixon NM you have to try this place. The roasted flavor to the green chile and the smoky flavor of the red chile really is like none other I have had anywhere in New Mexico (really, anywhere). I have been here 3 times over the years. Zuly's is a solid local cafe with an equally solid and extensive menu. I have mostly tried the the NM items and can vouch for their goodness and "authenticity". In fact with the red and green chile in particular, theirs is equal to the spot(s) in Santa Fe that garner top ratings in the best of Santa Fe in the local SF Reporter's annual Best of Santa Fe issue. Second night we each had a "gyro" sandwich ($18,50 each) were offered fries which on the wall menu appeared to be included but were charged $2,50 extra/person That plus one beer came to over $50 for two. read more

Small Cafe with nice picnic tables outside and low cost interior seating. But fantastic food! Definitely not fast food; it took over 20 minutes for our food to come. Beef in tacos were chunks of beef, surprisingly, and my veggie sandwich was ciabatta roll with melted mozzarella and tomatoes, mushrooms, summer squash, onions and bell peppers sauteed in a mild Chile sauce. Lovely little place in Dixon! We stopped by to get takeout. The menu and signs were clear, ordering very easy and prompt service. I got the Huevos Rancheros (vegetarian) and my partner got wings, tacos and Ice Cream! Everything was yummy. Only reason for 4/5 stars is that they put cheese on the tacos and the menu doesn't mention it. They do have well spaced, shades patio seating also available, but no indoor seating. How can this place get the "positive" reviews it does? Owned by a husband and wife team, the husband is much, MUCH more approachable than the wife, Zuly, by unmeasurable magnitudes. I can only assume that since this eatery is the only one of its kind for miles, it's by default. I will say the food is very good and consistent. We have been served, too, by a daughter who obviously takes after her father, and is also outgoing. Zuly, however, needs to go to charm school. She comes across as very condescending and frankly, grumpy; an unwelcome attitude for a proprietor in this part of the state. We've even heard her, in Spanish, give her husband a tongue lashing. And we weren't eavesdropping. It was loud enough to hear without trying to. Unprofessional if even in a small town. Also, hours of operation are inconsistent. Another NM business ripe for competition. Bottom line is that I do not patronize establishments where the help, especially an owner, is unkind. Perhaps she needs to open her eyes to the gifts she's been given already in abundance. read more

My grandma loves to eat here and I bring her here every time I come to Dixon for a visit. It's located in an adorable casita converted into a restaurant. You know this place has passed the test of time because they have been around for years. Other restaurants have tried and have not succeeded in this very same spot. I love to get thier shrimp tacos, very tasty. Also I have tried a salad from here and everything was very fresh, not to mention a generous portion. Its kind of like a self service location where you place your order at the front but then you grab your own utensils and napkins. The seating here is great, they have plenty of space inside and a nice patio for the warmer months. They have a good variety in their menu featuring some traditional new mexican plates as well as american food. read more

I was traveling in the area with family and we stopped in for lunch. There were 6 of us and the cafe was not full at 1pm. We all enjoyed everything we had, the lunch special was a red chile sauce cheese enchilada, a crispy pork taco and veggie chili tamale with rice and bean. Wow tasty! Best enchiladas I have had in quite sometime! We are staying at a local airbnb (which is also awesome) and were tired from our drive. Take out and a quick run to the co-op for some essentials made for a nice relaxing night. Zuly's had the right amount of spice/heat and price is reasonable. Glad I got the full order....would've eaten the leftovers for breakfast, but there weren't any! The Dixon co-op salsa is also to die for. read more

I work up in Embudo from time to time, doing research in the area. I've eaten breakfast at Zuly's a bunch of times. They are lovely people and serve really excellent food. I think the quality of their green chile is really high. I pretty much always get the huevos rancheros green, so maybe I'm not qualified to give them five stars, but I will, cos that knocks me out. I'm going to get them to cater a meeting for a whole bunch of researchers, and they have been really accomodating and helpful, so on that scale too they are a good outfit. Eat there. read more

I love this place. My aunt and uncle live down the street from this restaurant. I have eaten here several times and have never had a bad meal. Everything is fresh and made to order. Last order was a burger. I don't like my burger to moo so I always order well done. Well done to me is not burned. Here they know this little fact. Burger is cooked thru, no moo, but not burned either. Salads are huge, fresh, and tasty. Tacos are also delicious. Dh who doesn't eat rice, ate his rice with his meal. That speaks volumes for the chef at this restaurant. Great food, wonderful establishment, great customer service, and ice cream. Have not had the ice cream but it sure looks good! Delicious! We were staying in a rental house nearby and our only complaint was that they weren't open on Sunday so we could have one more breakfast burrito before we left town. The chorizo burrito was full of wonderful flavors and a green chili that was the perfect combination of spiciness and pork flavor. We can't wait to go back! read more
