Tim's Contracting

Tim's Contracting

This company is a fraud, and so is Tim…read more After picking this company from a list of contractors on Google, Yelp, and Yellow pages, I scheduled a meeting with Tim for July 24, 2020 to review the scope of the project and to estimate the costs. We wrote up a contract, and I paid half of the contract amount up front, with an agreed upon start date of August 10, 2020, and completion by the last week of August 2020. I text Tim on August 7, 2020 to confirm the start date was still on target, but received no reply. There was bad weather in the area on August 10, 2020, so I thought that may have hampered the start. I texted again on August 10, 2020 asking if the start would be the following day, but also got no reply. I phoned a couple of times that day as well, and received no answer. At that time, I became suspicious, and began my own investigation into Tim (should have happened before the contract signing and payment made). I came across the BBB complaint dated March 2019 that detailed a situation exactly like mine where half was paid and Tim disappeared. This is when I knew I had become a fraud victim. I have continued to attempt to contact Tim, to no avail. My money has been paid but no work has been done, and no communication has taken place. Tim has a pattern of fraud, and cannot and/or should not be trusted, and should be arrested before more victims are made. August 23, 2020 Update I contacted the Racine Police Department around 12:00pm on August 17, 2020 to report I had been defrauded and to point out the pattern of fraud perpetrated by Tim. My information was taken by an officer, and I was told he would attempt to make contact with Tim. At 1:12pm, Tim texted me indicating that he would in fact finish the job by the contract end date of August 31, 2020. The officer called me about at 2:00pm indicating he had just spoken to Tim, and wanted to confirm that Tim and I had an understanding that the job would be completed by month's end, and I confirmed that with the officer. A visit to the property on August 21, 2020 indicated the job had not yet begun. After some research, including public records, I located another one of Tim's 2018 victims and was told by that victim he has received calls from 20-25 different people over the past couple of years expressing concern that they had been victimized by Tim. August 31, 2020 Update As of end of work day on Monday, August 31, 2020, no work had been started or completed by Tim on the project, and no refund had been received from Tim to me.

Forced to drop stars. Context:…read more First job (concrete slab) was as initially described. But upon completion back in September, Dan stated he would seal at no cost "a month after" - that didn't happen. His commit to doing so is the only reason we didn't do it. As a result, it got beat up with the constant weather events and will need to be resurfaced. But second: we contracted with him to do a gutter replacement well in advance of the forth coming rain. It took almost 4 months before he showed. He offered a discount off of the price; then when he finally did show, he only removed some of the existing gutter and left without installing any new. He even left his ladder behind for some reason. Multiple emails for followup status have gone unanswered. It's the lack of communication and unfinished task (which can cause roof damage) that forces star drop. Previously he had indicated that they moved "far up north" - so it's possible he needed to change his service area but hasn't. That's on the business though; if you accept a job and money for the job, you complete the job as agreed. Which might mean something as simple as booking a hotel nearby for a week until the job is done or something.

Infinity Roofing. Recommended to us by a friend, Infinity has become our go to for those projects…read morethat I just won't be doing myself. I'm an electrician by trade, there are many things I will do, roofs and doors aren't on that list. Our first project was quoted by a salesperson named Aaron and it was a rip and replace of our roof. He was a good guy and came in and gave us a solid deal with all the service and upgrades I was looking for. Financed this venture through Enerbank USA and paid it off interest free in the years' time allotted. Our latest venture happened through a simple phone call. We had just dealt with the seriously cold Polar Vortex and noticed some issues with our doors. Infinity happened to call us to check on our roof and during this conversation, I had requested anyone with experience with doors. Well guess what, they do doors! About a week later a salesperson named Mark came out and gave us, the Provia doors booklet and a bit of homework. He then came back and we proceeded to build some doors, three to be exact. Again, we will be going with the 12-month interest free financing. We are excited as can be to get these new doors installed and seal this house up. In the business of home remodeling, there are many fast wheelers and dealers out there. We personally have found Infinity to be more of a partner than just a contractor in our home ventures. You really get what you pay for these days and pay for what you get, so why not deal with a company that has your back? I'll throw some pics up once our doors are installed. It was a little pricier than we initially expected but I am expecting the quality of the goods to be second to none. Another plus is not only did we get a deal for the time of year we are purchasing but we also received a nice loyalty discount of an additional 5% since we are on our second project with Infinity. That's what's up as every penny counts!

Each time they ask me if the work is acceptable, and then make me take pictures to explain the problems (again). Please be prepared for this type of workmanship and customer service.
