First, he ordered far more flooring material than necessary, showing poor planning from the start. Then, due to his lack of skill in cutting and fitting, he wasted a significant amount of that excess material. To make matters worse, he didn't even bother removing the old flooring--he just laid the new one directly on top. This raised the floor height unnecessarily, and instead of correcting the issue, he trimmed the bathroom door to make it fit. His work on the baseboards was equally sloppy. He clearly lacks the basic ability to measure and cut accurately, and he even managed to damage my drywall in the process. When I saw the poor quality of the job, I refused to pay until he corrected everything--which, thankfully, I insisted on before handing over any money. If you've already hired him, do not pay until all work is completed to your satisfaction. And if you haven't yet--do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. I would never hire Zach again.
