I've taken my son to many doctors to figure out why he walks a bit like a penguin. When he was a toddler our pediatrician said he would grow out of it, year after year. When he was 10, I took him to Children's Hospital for another opinion, they said there was nothing wrong with him. He's 13 now and complained his foot hurt when he played basketball- just didn't seem right. Found Dr. Zorrilla. He took one look at my son and diagnosed the problem. Sent him to get x rays done and we're now on our way to inserts. Wish I could have taken my son here sooner. Dr. Zorrilla could have corrected the issue when my son was a toddler. But either way, he's got the knowledge and experience and I am grateful. Better late than never. read more

Saw Dr Zorrilla yesterday and I was very happy with the visit. The office staff and doctors' assistant Vanessa were fabulous. Dr Z worked on my feet and used a special blade to help me with a painful callous. We spoke as he did his work and I have to admit I didn't feel a thing as he cut away the callous. I was referred to Dr. Zorrilla by my primary care doctor. It's just down the street from the San Gabriel Valley Medical Center and the HealthCare Partners office. There was plenty of street parking and the building is pretty easy to spot; just look for the footprints on the side of the building. Our first impression upon entering this building was that it looked very dated. There was a sliding window that served as the reception area to check in, but there was no receptionist or a sign-in sheet. We just took a seat and waited until someone popped their head out the window and called us. Dr. Zorrilla was a very friendly person and has an extremely pleasant bedside manner. I went there to get adjustments for my custom insoles. He was a very cool guy and adjusted them to meet exactly what I needed to have proper arch support; no more painful feet. Overall, Dr. Zorrilla was a great guy and I enjoyed his personality. The reception/check-in could use some work, but it's the foot care that counts. And Dr. Zorrilla provided exactly what I needed to remediate my problem. read more

Liar and his receptionist was very rude. I went to see Dr. Zorilla and he told me I needed to order insoles from Amazon and that his office could make adjustments for me on short notice and I would start seeing relief. When I called to make the appointment for adjustments the receptionist informed me he wouldn't be able to do so for a month. I told her I was in pain and that he told me the adjustments could be done on quick notice. The conversation turn negative quickly and when I asked why he would lie to me she told me he didn't lie to me. Don't trust this guy I don't know what his issue is. One of the worst things a doctor can do is not have any sympathy for the pain a patient is in. read more

I would give it negative 100 stars if I could. Where do I even begin...I'm actually physically shaking having just gotten off the phone with the most ridiculous, outrageously rude, and completely non-sensical staff member I've ever had the displeasure of speaking to. Let me start at the beginning. I make an appointment and saw Dr. Z at his sg office through optum (my medical group) for my extremely flat feet and needed insoles. at the appt, he advised me to purchase a pair on amazon since it was most likely that my insurance (hmo) would not cover it and he was right. He then told me to make an appointment with his private office to get them adjusted once they came. He gave me a piece of paper with that info on it and sent me on my way. I called said number on the paper, told them i have purchased the insoles they arrived and needed an appointment to get them adjusted. I was told the earliest appointment they had was in 2 months so I took it. Come the day of the appointment, I show up and check in, holding a large bag with my roller skates, shoes, and insoles and told them i was there to get them adjusted. I waited in the waiting room then was checked into the patient room where my blood pressure was taken and then confirmed my adjustment appt. I then waited for over 50 minutes at which pt dr. z walks in and tells me this is the wrong office, there is nothing that can be done and that he can see me at his private office that same weekend (4 days later) at 12:30pm. I then waited another 40 minutes to get my co-pay back from front office. That thursday, 2 days before my new appointment at his private office i was texted by a random number saying my new appt was 12/4 (3 weeks later) i call to ask why this was and was yelled at, berated, and repeated cut off by staff about the fact that i caused a conflict of interest and was stealing patients from optum, that i needed to clear it up and it was all my fault that there is a hold up. She repeatedly told and I quote "I don't know what you did, i don't care what you did, don't tell me anything, it's on you" she also said "you caused a conflict of interest with whatever you did at your appointment and we have nothing to do with that." every time i opened my mouth to speak, she talked over me, repeating herself over and over, blaming me and refusing to provide me with any way to reach Dr. Z. I asked if I could speak to her she said "no". Can you at least say he's busy? can i have him call you back? I asked for email, she said, I don't have an email for him to which I asked....is that the truth? and she said email him from optum. I repeatedly tried to ask why I can't see him if I'm paying out of pocket and not through insurance, how there is still a conflict of interest since 1. the adjustment services can't be performed at an optum office (no tools there) and 2. I'm not paying through insurance anyway. But she would not let me get a single word out and even as I asked these questions deliberately talking over me raising her voice with each word. I don't remember the last time i spoke to such a miserable human being and would NEVER visit this office if my life depended on it. This was the worst medically related experience of my life and the phone call that took place just now 11/20 at 12:03pm was just the hellish cherry on top. I don't need to see this doctor this badly to need to put up with this kind of customer service. You should be ashamed of yourself. I've bought 2 pairs of insoles for nothing (months later, can't return) and waited months in pain thinking I'd be able to have correct insoles to help with my pain. Honestly, shame on you. read more

As others have noted Dr. Zorrilla is a very fine doctor, I haven't got a single criticism of him. I've seen him several times over the last few years. But as someone else noted the front office is chronically disorganized at best. You can't get to the doctor without getting past the front office. It's a hurdle, an obstruction. When you walk in the door you are faced with a walled off lobby. The receptionist is hidden behind a wall, you need to knock on a little sliding frosted glass window to get any attention. There shouldn't be a room divider separating the patients from the staff. The receptionist should be facing the front door waiting to welcome you as you enter. Not hidden as if a priest in a confessional. I politely complained to Dr. Zorrilla about how hostile one of his front office staff was with me. I also felt nickle and dimed by the front office. Excessive petty charges. But the situation hasn't improved, so I won't be going back. read more

Dr. Zorilla is down to earth DPM. I was very impressed when he evaluated my left foot. I initially saw Dr. Michael Avakian because he was in the network and fairly nearby where I live but his care and treatment wasn't up to par. This is the reason (second opinion) I went to see Dr. Orlando Zorilla as highly recommended by my outstanding Physical Therapist (Dr. Julie Gomez). Dr. Z gave me a customized orthotics and a ten day regimen of pain meds and now am doing very well. I am now back in the gym running on the treadmill with my orthotics with no pain. I am a marathon runner but did stop due to left foot pain. Now I can train again. The front office staff I agree needs more customer service in the beginning but lately I am happy with how they deal with me. read more

My husband has been a patient of Dr. Zorrilla for many years due to diabetic foot problems, and we have found him to be an excellent physician and surgeon. While other doctors were quick to recommend amputations of the foot (and lower leg) for my husband, Dr. Zorrilla worked diligently to heal his ulcerations and wounds. My husband was able to retain both of his feet thanks to the outstanding care he received from Dr. Zorrilla. He is truly an amazing doctor who has responded to us immediately at any time we have contacted him, including after office hours. He even made a special trip to meet us at his office on a Sunday when my husband had a problem, which shows how much he cares and values the well being of his patients. There are very few doctors who we would trust implicitly, but Dr. Zorrilla by far merits our trust. Special mention for his excellent staff, Brittany, Rosalinda and Letty, who are always warm and welcoming and have gone the extra mile by allowing us to reschedule appointments at the last minute and calling us to check up to see if we are OK between appointments. This is a doctor and office who truly take their profession to heart, and we highly recommend them. read more

My family and I have been treated by Dr. Z for decades for ingrown toenails, plantar facetious, and various other foot and ankle conditions. I trust Dr. Z's judgment and professional expertise. I have referred all of my friends to Dr. Z's office and everyone that I know has been just as happy as I am. I appreciate how thorough the doctor is and where possible he recommends the least invasive method of treatment apropriate for the condition. I have had my toddler treated by Dr. Z and was amazed at how cooperative my two-year old was. A few months ago Dr. Zorilla removed a very painful ingrown toenail of mine, in what was my first ingrown nail that actually required medical attention (usually they just go away on their own, but this particular time that was not the case). Naturally, being a very anxious and neurotic person (and after of course googling horror stories about the bloodiness and pain that these toenail "surgeries" cause), I imagined myself in tremendous pain, yelling and needing to be held down. My actual experience could not have been any more different; The actual procedure which just involves a shot in between your toes to numb the area, cutting down the side of the affected nail and removing the sliver of the ingrown piece, and in my case, acid to the area of the nail bed where the sliver was removed from to prevent it from growing back, was virtually painless and was no longer than 20 minutes from start to finish. The shot itself was barely a pinch, and my toe was completely numb during the procedure, so I literally did not feel a thing. Dr. Zorilla also made sure he sent me home with plenty of supplies (gauze, bandages, a cleaning solution), since my toe had to be cleaned and wrapped everyday for a week. Dr. Zorilla was very friendly, knowledgeable, and overall a great doctor. I unfortunately have to go back soon because of an ingrown nail on my other foot, but fortunately I don't have to be fearful this time :) One negative thing which is definitely outside of Dr. Z's control is that he is typically very fully-booked (double and triple booked, according to his receptionist); I had to wait two and a half weeks this time around to come in, which definitely isn't fun when you can barely walk on your foot because of the ingrown nail's fury. However, last time, the staff was able to "squeeze" me in the same week of my call. Also, one particular receptionist is typically very cold and rude. I'm a very nice and polite person, so I know it wasn't a reaction to my own behavior. I know that working in a "customer service" job is usually not the best, but encountering people who are regularly rude is sort of a bummer, especially when the doctor they work for is the complete opposite. I will sadly be changing insurance plans very soon and will no longer be able to visit Dr. Zorilla after my upcoming visit, but he definitely gives me hope that my future podiatrist will be just as great. read more

My wife was in horrible pain from an ingrown toenail and after a difficult time trying to get care from our traditional managed care system, we bit the bullet and decided to pay cash and get the toe nail addressed properly before a vacation trip we had planned. Fortunately, Dr. Zorilla was open on Labor Day and was able to squeeze us in. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and a great resource for discussion the treatment options. He got the nail root removed very efficiently and even provided guidance on techniques for better nail care. Since we were paying cash, I was very sensitive to the out of pocket costs which in the end, I was pleasantly surprised with the overall cost in light of the excellent service we received. I've taken my family to Dr. Zorrilla for 13 years. He has performed 2 bunionectomies on me as well as provided excellent service in terms of orthotics for me and my 2 children. He provides excellent and professional care and has a great bedside manner. He is courteous, smart and humorous. The kids love him! I have found this doctor to also be on top of his patient's file and also the changes within the healthcare industry. When I've asked questions, he always has a thorough answer. He does not hesitate and offer an answer that is unconvincing like other doctors I've been to. He will be honest and will not ask for something of a patient if it is not needed. Not sure about the dr. the but front office is poorly run. We paid over $1000 for services and feel we were nickel and dimed by them. When we asked for an itemized bill the manager said we could get it thru our insurance company. I have a high deductible so I paid out of pocket. They REFUSED to give me an itemized statement even when we showed up to pick one up. read more

I was there that day. What I find really funny sue s is that the office manager isnt married and has never spoken to you like that. There was a full room that day, we all saw her handle you with such a calm voice. No need to lie about what happen just because from what I read was that you didnt want to give up your insurance info for them to bill for whatever visit it was. So far the complaints ive seen are people who dont want to give the info for a proper visit. I bet that new MD has your social security number, and the dealership where you got your car from, and whatever credit card you might have, and your bank account and any hospital youve every been to. We all have to give up your social security numbers when we go to any doctors offices. Nothing's changed if you have children you give up your social when you take them to the doctor's office. Oh and just a side note anytime you swipe your credit card or ATM card that business get your Social Security number just saying. If you're so worried about giving out your social security number you do it very carelessly without even knowing it. So thank you for the unuseful review. Leave a more informative review to where it isnt you complaining about giving up insurance info that a office needs to bill. How is a staff terrible for doing their job. You wanted them to see you for free lol give me a break. read more
