I expected Dr. Edmond Lee to actually review that hospital report and CT findings before forming an opinion. Instead he barely looked at it and told me I was wasting my insurance company's money by getting the imaging done in the first place. That is an incredibly dismissive thing to say to a patient dealing with a real, documented fracture with a missing fragment, not some vague complaint he gets to wave off. He did not take the time to actually walk me through what was going on with my foot or explain his reasoning when I had questions. It felt like he had already decided what he thought before even looking closely at my file, and I left with less clarity than I came in with. If you want a doctor who will actually read your records and take your imaging seriously, I would look elsewhere. 1 star.

So I went to see Dr Lee and presto, all gone! Reception was kind and ready with my paper work. Great experience and I would recommend Dr Lee to anyone with foot problem. Very personable also!

I recommend coming early as a new patient to fill out the in-take form. They charge a $25 fee for late appointments with a 15 minute grace period and no fee for rescheduling. I saw Dr. Wenjay Sung - he's fantastic! Dr. Sung is super knowledgeable, gave thorough recommendations, described cause and effects of conditions, and explained how my insurance worked in a clear/concise manner. I really appreciate how he took his time. However, appointment times are somewhat unpredictable in terms of when you'd see the doctor. I saw the doctor after 30 minutes of my actual appointment time, so make sure to plan for flexibility. Overall, this is a great podiatry that I'd love to come back to.

I found Dr. Maggie on Yelp after injuring my toenail, and all of the glowing reviews were spot on…read more I was even happier to find out she accepted my insurance! At first, it looked like I might have to come back because my gel polish made it hard to examine the nail. Instead of having me make another trip, Dr. Maggie took a closer look, realized the nail was lifted and no longer viable, and removed it carefully bit by bit. I was incredibly nervous, but the entire process was surprisingly quick and completely painless. She also took the time to trim my other nails and gave me helpful tips to prevent this from happening again. She immediately recognized there was damage to my nail matrix, and her confidence and expertise made me feel I was in great hands. What impressed me most was how thoughtful she was. She never rushed, explained everything, and genuinely cared about making the experience as comfortable as possible. Her office also squeezed me in for an emergency appointment first thing after the weekend, which I really appreciated. Thank you, Dr. Maggie! Looking forward to my follow-up appointment (even though I usually dread going to the doctor's.)

Update 06/10/2026…read more The clinic publicly stated that Blue Shield would correct the claim and issue a new EOB. However, Blue Shield's written response states that my podiatrist visit is subject to a $50 copayment under my plan, that no corrected claim has been received from the provider, and that no updated EOB will be issued. I am sharing this information because it differs from the information provided by the clinic.

The clinic has a very warm, family-friendly atmosphere, and everyone was kind, patient, and supportive. The entire team made what I was anxious about feel safe and comfortable. I lived with constant pain and tenderness from an ingrown toenail for over 20 years. Twenty years of discomfort, frustration, and failed treatments from multiple doctors left me feeling hopeless. I honestly thought this was something I would just have to live with forever. After reading so many positive reviews about Dr. Brittany Nguyen on Google, I decided to give it one last try--and I am beyond grateful that I did. Dr. Nguyen is incredibly compassionate, patient, and exceptionally knowledgeable. She listened, explained everything clearly, and treated me with such care and respect. Thanks to Dr. Nguyen, I am finally pain-free after decades of suffering. The relief is life-changing, and I cannot express how thankful I am. I highly recommend Dr. Brittany Nguyen and her team with all my heart. She did an amazing job on my toenail, and her staff are absolutely the best. My insurance company, UCLA Medicare Advantage Prestige Program identified Dr. Michael Avakian as…read morethe appropriate podiatrist to treat my feet (multiple broken toes) because I have bone cancer. He has stellar reviews. And I immediately understood why: he came himself to let me in the side gate next to the handicapped spot. He was surprised to see me with only one shoe. I explained that the pain was so severe that I could not get a shoe on my left foot and was wearing a Bomba sock instead. But from the moment I encountered the staff my " appointment " for which I had waited THREE WEEKS was a travesty. They had no record of my appointment (which had been made directly by my insurance company) nor could they find the materials I had texted to the office at their instruction 3 weeks earlier. It turns out, after a very unpleasant exchange that I had " texted " to their email address. They did, in fact, have it. Calls were made to the Medical group at UCLA (not the people who could help me) and finally I myself called the line reserved for Prestige plan patients (we pay a modest fee to the medical group to have help navigating the complex health system). Without reviewing my extensive records the representative (Brittany) could not help me immediately. I asked for a supervisor (Patricia) who for obvious reasons was apologetic but also unable to help. Since the staff had treated me like a criminal in the office--no appointment, no insurance, no right to be there (could it have been that they assumed only a homeless person would walk around with one shoe and one sock) I decided to leave and call my insurance company from home. Dr. Avakian, who had heard the entire saga from his office, followed me out to the street to apologize. He seems like a kind and competent man. But his staff is rude and careless. At home I was able to reach my regular navigator, Andrea, but my appointment in Westwood is not until January 2! By then my ties will either have healed or dropped off. This is the fault of modern healthcare not Dr. Avakian. His staff is a serious obstacle to getting appropriate treatment, but I am confident that if you can tolerate their rudeness your reward will be a capable and thoughtful podiatrist.
