I stumbled across this place while driving down Rt.59. I used to take my little guy to Petsmart in Aurora, but I noticed he didn't seem to like it and would be really anxious when I picked him up. I wanted to try a new place and see how he liked it. I tried Central Bark. My dog really likes it! He gets excited when I'm dropping him off and he's no longer anxious when I pick him up. The staff was warm, professional, and clearly cared about the dogs as if they were their own. What really stood out to me was my dog's reaction. At other facilities he's hesitant, but here he was wagging his tail and ready to play the second we walked in. The next time we went back, he was literally pulling me toward the door, which says it all! The facility is clean, well-organized, and (big plus!) has an outdoor play area. My dog loves being outside, so having that option made a huge difference compared to other places we've tried. It's rare to find a daycare/boarding spot that checks all the boxes: safe, caring, fun, and reliable. Central Bark truly delivered. I'm so glad to be the first to share a review, because they deserve to be recognized. If you're in the Aurora area and looking for a place where your pup will be treated like family, this is it.

We thought all was well, the owner John Quinn assured us the dog would be removed permanently, but that wasn't true. My girl experienced trauma from the attack and I didn't want a reoccurrence so we had to withdraw her from attending. We just recently tried to take her to another facility, but unbeknownst to us she was removed from the system. Now the process has to start from scratch because the facility manager at Plainfield will not communicate with another facility to validate my girl. I don't want to speak ill of the situation, but my rating speaks for itself. My girl deserved better!

I have been a customer of Lucky Dog for 5+ years. Knowing small businesses need to be acknowledged and recognized more, I wanted to post a review on what a great experience me and Mongo have always had there. The manager Rick, goes above and beyond for customers, as well as for their dogs. He always has the dogs' best interest at heart. Every time I walk in, I'm greeted either by him or other staff, and feel like I'm always treated like family. Even if Mongo gets to go there for a few hours to play and not for a full day, I always make sure to get there before 11:30am or after 1:30pm. They are closed during that time reason being, all of the pups that are there, no matter what- get nap/down time during that duration to rest. I love that they do that. The groomer, Corinne is also amazing, and it's so convenient. I cannot recommend Lucky Dog enough

He was grumpy, unfriendly, rude, unwelcome, irritable, admonishing me for unclear reasons & had difficulty looking me in the eye, super, super weird, racist undertones, wouldn't recommend anyone with melanin coming here yikes. If you have the misfortune of meeting this character you'll Definitely see what I mean- I didn't want my dog or family to be subject to any of those vibes moving forward. We've had absolutely terrific experiences in the past (only looking for a new daycare due to a move) and have never encountered an individual who spoke/behaved like this & emanating such a super negative/surly vibe, especially a person who reportedly works with dogs, wowza! Clearly he does this for the $$, he didn't acknowledge my dog either until we were finally able to exit the place (also- the place STINKS a lot, was more than what you'd expect). I was already not feeling the best about the place given to several negative reviews- but this crappy experience sealed the deal. Also thought it was weird when the girl who checked my dog in was the same one who checked me out & said "they" should have told you we close at 1130am (?), umm is she referring to herself in the 3rd person, odd gaslighting meant to insult my intelligence? Appropriate training of staff including the head (as we all know those folks set the example, in this case a very poor one) highly needed, the so called managed def acts as though he is doing you a huge favor (ha! he may want to review how a business including a small one like this one works, we dogowners are definitely handing over cash for services). & msg to him: you're not a rocket scientist, please get over yourself *eyeroll*. For anyone in a similar situation Don't bother wasting time w/ this place- terribly rude, unprofessional, and their hours make zero sense (and are also not what's written online- manager again seems to concoct his own rules on the fly depending on who he's looking at, total discriminatory oddball).
