Chris was a good listener and took his time. Clean office and office staff was kind. I would have preferred a doctor just for our needed tx.

Express care is less expensive than an urgent care and was just a copay on my insurance. I was told that they deal with less urgent matters and are comprised primarily of physician assistants and nurse practitioners as opposed to doctors. They do not have a lab and do not do UTI testing here (you must go to a stand alone clinic- not an express care inside a Walgreens). I believe my PA's name was Kyle. He and the medical assistant were so friendly and nice! They were able to flush my ear out and I was able to finally hear again! The only downside to the clinic is that it is a little small, so small that you might miss it. It is located to the right of the pharmacy. There is a tiny waiting area of about 4-5 chairs outside two exam rooms. I was just glad there is an alternative to urgent care where you have to sit in a waiting area full of sick people. Here you can schedule your exam ahead of time online and get in and out a lot quicker!

Patients and providers were going in and out of the two rooms, but no one acknowledged my family. At 7:50, and still without being greeted, my husband checked with the pharmacy and was told they are not affiliated with the clinic, but that someone should see them shortly. A little after 8PM my husband finally was able to talk to the provider who told him that their appt. system was down, and now that it was after 8PM they were closed and we'd need to reschedule her appt. What? Even if the system was down, it was obvious that they'd been sitting in the waiting area for over 30 mins. Disappointed and frustrated.

I…read morecouldn't get in to see my PCP so after an anxiety attack from my blood pressure being elevated (I continuously monitor at home 168/91) I went to the Urgent Care. Dr Leaf was very empathetic, and I feel like he did listen to my concerns. He prescribed me a short-term anti-anxiety medication to help get me through my mental anguish and reassured me that while my blood pressure *is* high that I am not "in crisis" and agreed that my anxiety about it being high was only making it worse. Here it is a month later and I am happy to report that my blood pressure has significantly reduced due to my anxiety being under control. I'm regularly getting 138/80 readings which are still a tiny bit elevated but nowhere near where they were which does make me feel a lot better. Thank you!

Blame the patient. Blame the insurance company…read more Take no responsibility. Because I couldn't get in to see my regular doctor, I went to UrgentCare for a rash I needed cleared up asap. The doctor was pleasant enough and I was able to get some meds that helped the issue (not completely, though, and it did return). The issue was the billing. Then the complete absence of customer care. When I went in, I asked how much the visit would cost and was quoted a number. I then verified this a couple of times, all with the same answer. So, imagine my surprise upon receiving a bill for almost double what I'd already paid! I called the office and was told they would *not* honor the quote I was given. When I asked why, I was told it's not their policy and that I should have read the policy document more thoroughly. (More about that below.) Eventually, I spoke with Dr. Leaf who apologized that his office staff did not provide the proper information and that he would work on training them better. OK, that's a good start. But what would he do for my situation? Would he honor the quote the office manager gave me (multiple times)? That's when he started getting pretty hostile. He changed tactics and accused me multiple times of misunderstanding the staff. Multiple times, I repeated that my husband was there with me and heard the conversation. When that didn't work, he changed tactics again and blamed me for signing the policy document saying that I should have read it more thoroughly. Here's what I pointed out to him . . . . When a person comes in to an urgent care center, their main concern isn't paperwork. Their main concern is getting help with an urgent medical issue they are facing, and they aren't always in a mental state to absorb the plethora of legalese built into a policy document. Knowing this happens was the main reason I asked for a quote - and verified it several times. He knows this too, but it's easier to take advantage of someone in a desperate situation. I pushed again and asked if he would resubmit the paperwork and honor the quote. Again, he refused, this time stating he couldn't according to his policy with the insurance company. Interestingly, when I spoke with an insurance agent (not a CS rep), she told me 1) yes, he could have honored the quote I was given, and 2) alternately, he could have submitted a corrected claim. Overall, I was shocked at the hostility I faced from the office staff who blamed me for signing the policy statement to the doctor who accused me of first misunderstanding, then not reading the document. And shocked at the lack of customer service. Sad that it came down to blaming the patient for trusting the office manager and an unwillingness to make the situation right.

They will do everything in their power to avoid doing anything for you while still collecting money from insurance for appointments. Have complex mental health issues? Hope you only need talk therapy. Their in-house psych refuses to touch complex psychiatric conditions that require 'restricted' medications. The PCPs I and my partner have dealt with refuse to touch psych meds. They don't care about suicide risk or self-harm, they will do everything in their power to avoid touching your care and they will not help with medications, referrals, or safe hand-offs. My partner's PCP actively argued with him and tried ending a video appointment early when he said he was actively suicidal and was having a panic attack. QA and "patient advocates" were notified - nothing. Chronic pain? After several escalations, we had a nice chat with the head clinician where we were told to our faces that we're "addicted to not being in pain", after the PCP refused referrals to rheumotology, neurology, and other related diagnostics for non-medical reasons like they're "overbooked", "radiation", "they'll try the same meds we are". A request for a pain management referral was redirected to a rehab clinic. Ongoing extreme pain associated with on-file and documented conditions yielded a naloxone prescription for 'pain relief'. Apparently we're drug-seeking tweakers, so we don't deserve to have second opinions or individualized assessments/care. Need testosterone but the Trans Care Specialist is already abandoning and abusing your partner for the same issues? Not our problem. Either keep using the abusive trans care specialist we have or we'll force you to go to OHSU for any trans care at all, period, even when we prescribe hormones to cis people without requiring off-site specialists and hoops. Because "I'm not familiar or comfortable" with doing my job because trans people are complicated and difficult to deal with.
