The owner said that we were not going to be a good fit for them and she offered to give us a referral, It was to a groomer 39 miles away. We thought if we made an early appointment, they wouldn't be backed up and our dog would be there at the most for two hours, so we made an appointment for a month later. When we showed up, we learned that she had cancelled it without notifying us. Turns out she was right - she wasn't a good fit for us.

They have absolutely horrible customs service. The one in Des Moines would give a call the day before your appointment every time. Never missed a confirmation call at all. Then switching to the one at Ankeny they never would call the day before. So I would try and check my calendar and call to make sure we were still good to go. Then one day I didn't catch my calendar the day before and call and I missed the appointment. So I called and apologize and let them know that I was sorry I missed the appointment and they said we called you the day before and confirmed and I advised them I had no reminder call. I informed them that I take half credit for missing the appointment but I'm used to getting the reminder call cause they do it at the other location regularly. So I feel like they should be half responsible. She said that it is a curtesy that they call anyway and that if I miss the appointment that's on me. So she said if I wanted to rebook I had to repay the full booking fee! So I asked for the owner I. So the owner called me and was rude and said that they would credit the booking fee but one of my three cats would no longer be able to come and get groomed because she was an issue. This after bring up that the Ankeny location was having tons of issues. Lucy had a small lump, behind her left front leg. We took her there for minor surgery to have it removed. Little did we know, they no longer have early morning surgery, as in the past..so Lucy, who gets anxiety, didn't have surgery till late morning..I get a call about 10:30 did I want the growth biopised, from an un-named employee at $200 cost..I am thinking small bump..no thanks, whoever it was hung up..11:45 no call from ANYONE how Lucy was. I called and they said she was done with surgery, but we couldn't get her till the vet called us..1:00 I called again..the vet was "in a meeting" and could not be disturbed..we could still not get Lucy..1:45 we came to pick up Lucy..the receptionist was totally snotty, said the vet's "meeting" could not be interrupted..she brought Lucy out, handed her over, and said you can take her outside now..No indication, if she needed pain meds. So at 2:45 I called again, and got a different employee who was nice..and said Lucy would be fine for the day with out pain killers..NOW it would be 4:30 to 5:30 before the vet called..$600 charge..The vet called at 5PM, and said that she could "watch" the patients while she was in this meeting to see that they weren't having problems...When we picked up Lucy..she had a VERY large incision on her side..NOW at 5:00 the vet tells me it was fibrous and that is why it was so large..YET SHE DID NOT PERSONALLY TELL ME THIS WHEN THEY CALLED ABOUT GETTING A BIOPSIE. at 10:30..some office worker did not explain it was worse than thought. WHEN DR BARBARA was Lucy's vet, if there was surgery, it would be early, they would call you when surgery was done, call you the next day or so, to see if the dog was ok..NONE of this now, plus doing surgery, and then scheduling a 2 hour meeting..instead of contacting people is not right..they might still be ok for routine check ups..but surgery, our experience was not good.

Seemed like it eWorld be a great place to go to for dog care. Searched vets and was impressed. Will be transferring care there when I get home from hospital. Nice to hear a person on the phone that sounds like she is smiling and happy to talk to you and answer your questions without sounding like a robot with no care. A place to go where you would feel like you and your pets matter.

Every single time I come here to get something weather it is grill pellets, dog food or something else seasonal, including propane tanks refilled, everyone is very friendly even if they are busy. They always seem genuinely interested in me as a person and never forget to ask if I am part of the reward programs. I often check the app on my phone and their inventory usually matches up and pricing is accurate. The prices are fasir, although on some items seem high, it is sometimes worth not going to the bigger stores. Great job Ankeny TSC - your employees are awesome!

Placed an order online for dog food at 8:15am. I went to pick up at 1pm and logged in online and…read moreput in the request for curbside pick up. After waiting 10 minutes I tried calling and never could get someone to answer the phone. Finally someone answered. In all the curbside pick up took 30 minutes. I should have just gone inside myself to purchase the dog food rather than online with pick up.
