The kind woman on the phone said they do not take kittens but would be happy to help if Alicia the groomer consented. She did, so I brought my kitten mango in. Not only were they so gentle and kind, they made sure to get to know mango and my's backstories. I even heard the groomer make it a point to meet the parents of other dogs she has just groomed to ensure she was 100% happy. I was nervous mango wouldn't like it, but she was so calm and sweet with them. I expected to pay about $20.... but nope! FREE OF CHARGE because all they wanted was for mango to get home okay. The owner didn't care sent me a note 7 days later and put the disclaimer in my face. She sent me the disclaimer that I signed and said this can happen if a dog goes longer than 6 to 8 weeks without a haircut this is unacceptable. It's one thing to make a mistake, but it's another one not to admit it. Thank you for your delayed response. 1.) She did not have any issues before her grooming appointment. 2.) Vet sheet attached. They said she has wounds from being buzzed in two places under her butt and tail. As we knew. Her tail $ butt was red, inflamed, chunks out of her skin and miserable all week. They said her glands were also irritated from it and expressed them while we were there. 3.) She now has: Some medicated wipes B. A prescription cream C. two pain & inflammation pill prescriptions : Gabapentin & Carprifen for cuts on her bottom & under her tail. 4.) She has stayed in her kennel without wanting to come out for 6 days. 5.) For the last 7 days she has been shaking, twitching, sleeping and not wanting to see any of our family members and needs help eating & drinking. I'd watch the part of the tape when they are grooming her underside, butt & tail. She is red, raw under there and goes bananas when we apply the cream to the wounds. They didn't let me watch the tape, nor care if I brought her in to show them. "No comments." If you'd like me to bring her in to further show you, I'd be happy to. This definitely happened at Shaggy Chic by her groomer(s). Please refund our visit. This is unacceptable. Or pay our vet bill, reimbursed to us. $123

I screwed up our last appointment and thought I booked in DSM, but really I booked in Ankeny. I was so bummed because 1) the wait to get into Smitten Kitten is long and 2) I didn't want to lose my hefty deposit ($70) Their employee, Carrigan was so helpful & she helped me get things straightened out and was able to reschedule me:-) After I expressed that it was a human error(on my part) and I wasn't just a no show, Carrigan was helpful and professional about communicating with the owner and myself. I would recommend Smitten Kitten:-)
