What a perfect place to wash your pet! I was driving through town and after a day of hiking I needed to give my dog a wash. I called to make a reservation to hold a tub for my dog and the gal (the owner) was so sweet and nice. She said "I can't wait to meet you and your pet." She had the best customer service. When we arrived, the building looked brand new. Really well taken care of, cute little decorations in the front yard. When we walked in we were greeted with a smile and friendly welcome. She baked a variety of treats for the dogs and even had treats for the humans. :) She gave us heaps of options for shampoos and conditioners. They have a great selection which include oatmeal, shed control, sensitive skin, softening, and much more. All of these items are included in your 1 hour wash. She also has nail clippers, brushes, and other misc items. The tubs are nice and big, great water pressure, towels and blow dryer are also included. I am SO happy to learn about this place! I have a very old, cranky dog with arthritis who I can no longer take to get groomed so I do it myself at home (and it's terrible at home). This place has EVERYTHING you need including soap, brushes, dryer, towels. I love the raised tubs so I don't have to hunch over and there's a ramp so my old lady can easily get in there. The place was super clean and the service was friendly. I can't believe I didn't know about this place before. (Only thing I didn't love was how cold the hairdryer was. Maybe me dog doesn't care but I couldn't imagine blow drying myself after a shower with cold air. Brr) Overall loved it and would definitely recommend! read more

Came here for the first time today! We just adopted a new dog in December and it was time to get her a bath! She's a large greyhound so we could probably bathe her at home but it would be tricky. We came midday on a Tuesday so there wasn't really anyone there but that worked for us because our dog is super anxious and terrified of tile floor. The staff was really friendly and helped me get my dog inside. She gave me the run down for how everything worked and I got started. They have aprons there for you so you don't get wet. Just don't accidentally wear long sleeves like I did lol. I also appreciated that they had ramps so I didn't have to lift my 70 pound dog up into the tub. We used the shampoo and conditioner and their towels. My dog was a little scared of the blow dryer so we skipped that. They even had treats for us at the end as well! read more

This place is great for my big puppy Cookie! It was our first time here and it was great! The owner was fantastic she gave me a little tour of the place and showered me how to use the stations. They provide shampoo and conditioner there. I opted for the whiting shampoo which was an extra $5 but the that was okay since the price is so affordable compared to me actually letting a groomer bathe Cookie! The water is warm for your dogs, and the high power blow dryer is amazing! Not to mention you don't have to bend over to clean your pup! This place is awesome! Took my dog for a walk this morning and he jumped in the river and smelled. I usually wash my dog with the hose but since it's cold out we needed to go somewhere indoors (without clogging my shower ) $15 for dogs under 100 lbs, $20 for dogs over 100lbs. Update: The air dryer is great! I didn't look closely enough the first time I was there but the dryers have a dial that you can set for low, medium or high and everything in between. Once I set it to medium-low I was able to use it on my girl and got her all cleaned and dried in less than an hour so I definitely recommend this place! read more

Needed to get in a good deep cleaning before it got much colder. Good news is that the cold wind didnt matter. I took in my Husky and for $15 I got to use all the facilities. Tub , shampoo, conditioner, brushes, towels, air dryer. Lucky for my ol'baby they had ramps to get in and out of the tub so no jumping. Put on the apron and away we went. Now shes all fluffy and smells better. Good to know that they have nice clean tubs with warm water for my baby. Will be back. read more

Our Black Lab Kozmo is so nice and clean with his shampoo and blow dry. So much easier than trying to wash him at home.

I can't say enough about Canine Clean's customer service. On Christmas Eve I let my white and black Great Dane outside to only find him covered in mud 5 minutes later, 1 hour before guests were to arrive (and I was making the meal)! We called Canine Clean 2 minutes before closing, and owner agreed to stay open so we could get our dog clean! They saved our lives (or my life I suppose...). Besides the great service, the facility is very clean, organized, and best of all, our 150 lb dog fits in the tub! Thanks Canine Clean!! read more

My second visit here and I love it. I've never been to a self-serve dog bathing place before, but it's definitely what I'll be doing from here on out. Several shampoo options, towels, a dryer, brushes, etc all right there. Only thing to know before you go is that you need to call ahead if you want to reserve the big dog tub. My dog is about 115 pounds of bath resistance and we had to make the normal (non-big dog tub) do our first time we went--it works, but the big tub is definitely preferable. read more

We recently relocated from Minneapolis with our two Shelties, who are tough to keep clean. In Minneapolis, facilities similar to Canine Clean are all over. We were concerned we would not be able to find them in Des Moines. Well we did, and Canine Clean is even better than those in Minneapolis. Excellent tubs, nice and high, so your back does not get sore, all the shampoo, conditioner, towels, etc. that you need. This is a wonderful place, very colorful and a very good owner.
