Within an hour (since he was already on a call close to our house) Jack arrived and found the blocked pipe leading into our septic tank. Made the necessary fixes & cleaned out the backed up pipe instantly. He advised some recommendations to help keep our tank working in pristine condition for a VERY reasonable price.. We were expecting this call out would have several cost hundreds of dollars. I would highly recommend Jack and Anglin Septic Service to anyone that needs their septic tank looked at, pumped or worked on.. Prompt & reasonable - what more can you ask for in someone who is coming to look at your poop tanks??!!

I used Lewis Crafton five years ago to replace my septic pump and he did a fantastic job for a fair price. When I saw some issues with one of my lines recently, I had to call another company because Crafton was busy. The other company came out and shut the line off and I didn't see him again, for the next year. I wanted to close out the permit so I called the company who started the job, and he would not commit to a day, or even a week. So, I called Lewis Crafton again and he was over the next day, assessed the issue with the county inspector, and the day after the job was completed. It was a fairly major repair with two lines having to be replaced. They worked non-stop and caused minimal damage to my yard with their heavy equipment. I hope I never need septic work again, but if I do, I will only call Lewis Crafton.

The service manager Alex came to give us the estimate on replacing the drains and other repairs. He ws professional at the house, and checked the pipes. He emailed me an estimate that was very good and said if I had further questions to let him know. I emailed him back with a question on the bid, and then emailed again because after he left the pipes started making terrible noises. I asked him if he had moved anything under the house. He did not reply (it was on a thursday that these emails were sent) By Sunday night I was totally freaked out and sent another email stating I had sent 2 prior and that I needed to know what he had done under the house. He emailed me back defensive on Monday and explained that it coudln't be his fault, it was water pressure. It was strange, but I responded with ok, how do we fix it? He did not reply again for 3 days. He then replied (and I have been without drains in my kitchen/laundry for over 2 weeks now) that he would not do the job. When I asked why he explain that he was offended by my accusations and that they have worked with other people before who were dishonest and would try to blame the plumber for other problems that may arise (basically saying I would do that) and that he was anxious and uncomfortable doing the work for me. I would gladly provide a transcript of these emails. I was shocked that I would be accused, yet be called the accuser. The owner apologized for the manager's lack of response but agreed that he not do the job. Well yeah, I agree too. It was a very hurtful and upsetting experience. Starting over.

Almost all of them were…read moreunable to come out without a service fee, but Frank offered to send someone out to quote it without a charge. That was the first thing that won me over. I don't understand when service professionals can't give you a best case/worst case without seeing the issue or at least do a complimentary quote to win the business. I know that it costs the business money to send someone out to quote it, but that to me is a business expense or should be at least applied to the job if move forward. My concern is that I wouldn't be able to afford the fix and wanted to know what to expect and be assured it was competitive. I hate the idea of paying a $60-90 call fee to get a quote and then potentially not move forward with the service. Seems like a risk if the quote came back as something I just could not afford on site or if it was not competitive. I understand that there are a lot of variables so it's necessary to scope the situation out, but it just doesn't seem like a good way to win business or build rapport. The good news and the point to my short rant here is that Frank at GNC did not charge me to send someone out to look at the issue. GNC was easy to communicate through via email, another bonus for me. I submitted email forms to many and most had a call center call me and leave me messages - not a great way for me to communicate during the day, I much prefer email, so that was a plus too. The plumber showed up on time and were very professional and friendly. They took a look and provided me an estimate. The estimate was higher than another plumber who had been out before to fix the same issue last year, but I felt a sense of trust with Chris who was sent. He was great, explained everything that was going on, and with a smile. I decided to move forward with the job same day, I didn't need to shop around, the experience and trust level was there. When he opened the wall, he identified areas where the last plumber (the more affordable one I mentioned) could have done better to mitigate risk of the hose bib from freezing again. There were a few things that could have been better attended to and Chris did just that. He took every opportunity to do the best work he could do to help keep the bib warm next winter. I was very nervous going into this because I have had poor experiences in the past. I will recommend GNC to anyone of my friends in need of a qualified and caring plumber.
