They advertise 24 hour emergency service but never responded to me. I called about a leak and the woman who answered took my name and number and said she would send it to the technician and he would call me, but I never got a phone call. Apparently, the only thing that got their attention was the negative review I left on Google. A got a response and was asked to call them, which I did. I called 3 times and they didn't answer...then someone calls back and transferred me to the "owner". He admits that there was a problem with communication and the tech never got my message. But he seems annoyed that I left a negative review and implies that I'm being unreasonable because he saw my history of reviews on Google and I have "high expectations". I am a customer and the customer is the reason why businesses thrive so to imply that a customer shouldn't have high expectations when you advertise "quality" service and the customer is paying their hard earned money is absurd. The alleged owner apologized in a very sarcastic tone and even questioned why I would leave multiple negative reviews. Seriously? His company dropped the ball and left me high and dry during an emergency situation and they were expecting praises? The nerve! Part of being a business owner means you have to own your mistakes instead of guilt tripping the customer into thinking they are unreasonable. I didn't even have to call them back to report my experience. I thought I was doing them a favor, but to add insult to injury to the owner had the nerve to be cynical and condescending. Everything I said in my negative review was TRUE. He could not dispute the facts, yet he's annoyed with my review when his company engaged in poor service. How is that my fault? All I tried to do was give them my business. I stand by my statement that the one star review was well deserved. After talking to the inconsiderate owner though, zero stars is more appropriate. read more

Zoom responded to my sewage backup on Friday. The tech had the snake to the street but couldn't clear the line. His manager arrived on Saturday to give me their option. He suggested installing a clean out connection by the street so he could send in his camera to find the problem. A $6300.00 cost. Recently the gas company replaced lines in the street in front of my house. He couldn't/wouldn't say that my pipe was likely crushed from the work they performed. Zoom came on Tuesday to install the clean out which they did, but the camera became submerged and couldn't see then their high pressure hose got stuck and couldn't be removed. Still no confirmation. Next step was to dig up the street on Wednesday to find the problem and repair for an additional $14,000 plus. I called the gas company on Tuesday, their rep showed up on Wednesday morning. Zoom began to dig up the street. The sub-contractor arrived mid morning and was willing to have Zoom continue and make the repair then reimburse me for Zoom's cost. That was until they heard what I was being charged. The sub said the charge was exceeding overpriced and the they would make the repairs. I stopped Zoom, who hadn't yet found the problem, and they filled their hole. The gas company sub-contractor dug a different hole, found and repaired the pipe. Zoom was paid $9,500.00+ for Wednesday's work. I recently found that Zoom damaged one of my sprinkler pipes that I now have to pay to repair. I contacted them and their response, per the contract, is that they are not responsible. I paid them over $16,000.00 and they basically accomplished nothing. Now they will not help with the repair of the sprinkler pipe they destroyed, I have photos. Don't take the chance with Zoom. BTW, the Zoom manager told me that Zoom had to hire an attorney to get paid from a client whose attorney told her to hold payment for work Zoom performed. I can see that happening. read more

I was scheduled for an estimate through Tony on Yelp. My appointment was scheduled between 9-930am. I changed my schedule around to make this work. At 9:35 nobody has shown up to my house so I called and spoke with Donna who said David was supposed to come to my house and put me on hold to see if he had left yet. She placed me on hold and then disconnected the call. I called back and Tony answered. Tony took my info and then transferred me to David who told me that Donna gave him my name with the wrong address. I had set the appointment up with Tony through Yelp so I'm not sure why fingers were being pointed at someone else. David tried to take my information, however, I politely declined and advised him that I will find someone else to do the job for me. If this office is this unorganized with scheduling an appointment, I can only imagine what it would have been like to have them do the job. Glad I learned about this and had this experience before I was further into the job. If you use this company, hopefully your experience will be better than mine. read more

Don't waste your time I contacted Ray the plumber and was advised that their drain clearing division is Zoom Drain and that is who I was talking with. Don't waste your time. I have a clogged main and gave a detailed discription of what needed to be done (easy rooter clean out) and I asked for a ballpark price. I said I understand that it is a ballpark and if the situation differs from what I discribed then the price might be different. They refused to give any type of ballpark pricing. They said they must come to the house before they give any quote (even a ball park). When I questioned why they could not even give me a general idea of the cost they started yelling at me! Our experience with Zoom Drain was fantastic. Although delayed John and Alex kept us updated on their arrival time. They performed a video scope of a drain in a house we are about to purchase. They diagnosed the problem showed us options and we hired them on the spot for the repair of the clogged main line. They were professional and efficient. These guys were great! I was having flooding in my basement - a plumber came out and looked and snaked it but it didn't solve the issue - i had flooding after the next rain due to sewer backflow. With the rain and the fact that it drains from our roof into the sewer system, we started getting a little rain water coming up through the floor drains in the basement. Then, on a Sunday, it got much worse and it wasn't just rain water coming up from the sewer line. We found Zoom through Guarini Plumbing in Jersey City, a sister company to Zoom, and they dispatched Keneth on Sunday afternoon. Keneth was professional, competent, and solved the problem. He took the time to show me on the video camera down in the pipes some other issues I may need to take care of in the future. I would definitely use Zoom again. read more

Our sewer line backed up and I was initially given an estimate of $42,000 by one of the big-ticket Plumbing & heating outfits in northern NJ who wanted to tear up my basement and replace the entire 90 foot line. After a second and third opinion, I contracted with ZOOM DRAIN who did a thorough review of my issue and recommended a procedure called de-scaling whereby the pipe is cleaned and scraped (as opposed to replaced). My main line drain was clogged. Called Zoom. Two young men arrived about a hour late. They attempted to clear my clog. Unsuccessfully. I told them they were in the wrong location. He informed me his experience led him to believe he was correct. It was not. After trying for about a hour. They gave up. And I was charged over 500.00 for absolutely zero results. I called the company and spoke to the owner. He said he would get back to me. I never heard from him again. The technicians informed me my pipes were collapsed. And the next step would be to excavate. Without any other type of inspection. Nothing could be further from the truth. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my pipes besides a clog. I ended up clearing it myself. My drain is working fantastic now. Don't waste your time. Call Roto Rooter or a local plumber. Do not waste your time or money with Zoom drain. Complete scam. I've learned a expensive lesson. These calls should call themselves "Zoom Cash". Because that's all they did. Zoom with my cash and left me still with a clogged drain. Horrible service. read more

These guys are quick and they have just about everything on hand that you need to get your problem solved. In a tight spot especially for a landlord you can kind of justify the cost. I say kind of because holly he'll they are expensive. Expect to pay somewhere around 730 for a sewer line hydro jet. All in all I'm satisfied with the service but I'd say they are a bit too overpriced. read more
