I love this beach too much, I mean TOO much... SO much I prefer not yelping about it because I don't want you to know how UNBELIEVABLE your life can turn into a fulfilled dream of peace, tranquility and quite. Quick tip: Don't bring an iPad, phone, nor a watch. Let the Mother nature share her soul.

One of the most if not the most beautiful beach I have visited. Far away from reality and civilization lies this unspoiled less traveled decadant getaway. Located on the east coast of the small one sity island lies the beautiful white & light sand that is like powder under your feet. Over half a mile long it is off the beaten path as most visitors go west to visit the eternally long and gorgeious Flamenco Beach, you will often find yourself alone staring off into the distance. The island's smaller sister Culebrita, a wildlife refuge island, and even St Thomas is easily visible on any day. To get there rent a golf cart or Jeep and drive just a few miles east on the windey PR-250. Don't be afraid of the giant hill as golf carts will still easily make the return trip. BE SURE TO WEAR INSECT REPELLANT FOR MOSQUITOS AND SAND FLEAS.

RISE AND SHINE! The best spot in culebra to watch the sunrise if you're one of us and love a good sunrise and the photography that comes with it wake up early 4:45am catch the blue hour right before sunrise, and breath in the magic of this place. Not the best place to get in the water but for beautiful pictures at sunrise, this is your spot!

Great spot for a relaxing escapade. We were lucky enough to be the only two people when we visited... Sunset was amazing.

There were a few boats but it was very chill and relaxed. I was with my family, uncle, and a cousin and his family and some friends. We didn't bring any snorkeling gear and I forgot my GoPro so no underwater pics. Next time.

It's almost a certainty, but if you list the top 5 beaches in the world, one of them will always be…read moreCulebra's Flamenco Beach, BUT..... . . . I found a beach that's EVEN BETTER: Playa de CoreyG (I proclaimed it with this name since it appears to be a nameless beach) What do you think of when thinking of the lovely Flamenco Beach? o White soft sand o Crystal clear waters o Warm comforting water o Peace These are all great and good, BUT y'know what? Playa de CoreyG is even BETTER---because it has all of this x10! This beach is TOPS in my book because of its seclusion. The beach is just off the small island of Culebra on the even smaller island Cayo Luis Pena. The only way to get to this beach is by taking a boat (I kayaked) from Culebra, and going to the other side of the island (it's less than a mile away.) On the other side of Luis Pena, you will round the corner and find one small sandy nameless cove. Go past this one and go to the next cove. This beach is a bit bigger. Ride a few waves in and you will be at the world's BEST beach: Playa de CoreyG. The beach isn't very wide, but there's more than enough room to lay down your towel and soak some rays, read a book, or take a nap (don't forget sunscreen!). I spent a few hours here. While here, I was followed by another couple. They dropped off their kayak and did some snorkeling. The water is magnificent--super clear & the sand is nice and soft with very little rocks to worry about. There are views of even smaller islands off to the north/west. This is what I imagine Flamenco Beach was like before it became discovered, touted, & touristy. I should have stayed longer, but I wanted to circumnavigate around Luis Pena to get back (BIG MISTAKE). First off, paddling around the rest of the island is long! Secondly, when you get on the other side of the island you run into some rough seas (wind & waves will pound you.) Two & a half hours later and 10 blisters on my hand, I made it back to Culebra. In hindsight, I should have just stayed on my beach longer and went back the short route. It's OK. I will be back. My beach beckons.

It has two main beaches, Tortuga Beach and Playa del Sur (South Beach). Tortuga Beach is by far the more popular beach. Many consider it to be Puerto Rico's best beach. I love Flamenco Beach, but I won't argue with Tortuga's beauty. It also has a natural pool. Playa del Sur is great in its own right. It is smaller and has less beach, but I find it has better snorkeling. It is also more secluded and quieter. Tortuga Beach's biggest problem is it is so popular it can get too crowded. Unless, you have no other option, I would say suggest avoiding this beach on the weekends and holidays. It becomes a marina, so many boats. That also means somebody is more than likely to fill the air with music blasting from their stereos. Their inner dj fills them with the need to make sure everybody on the beach knows what they are jamming. If you are interested in sampling both beaches, there is a trail that crosses the middle of the island d and connects both. I believe it is takes 15-20 min. Another hike I strongly recommend is the hike to see the ruins of the old lighthouse. It takes about 15-20 min and is an easy hike. Best to wear shoes or sandals that aren't flip flops. But if flip flops are all you have then it's fine. My wife hiked it in flip flops. You will notice a dried up lake in the middle of the island. The view from the top is spectacular. There is the lighthouse itself, but the real prize is the view. You can see the whole island and beyond. Breathtaking. There is Cayo Norte, a smaller island, to the north, and some other tiny island's. To the west is Culebra, maybe even Vieques on a clear day. South is the open sea, and to the east, on a clear day, you can see St. Thomas. Excellent photo and selfie ops. As you cross the middle of the island, on either hike, you might hear or see goats or deer. Culebrita is a must visit of you are staying a couple of days in Culebra. The only way to get there is by boat. If you don't own one or have friend that does, you can always male a reservation with a water taxi service or charter an excursion. There are a couple that offer rides to Culebrita, and other places such as Cayo Luis Peña (great for snorkeling). H20 Water Taxi, Cato Norte Water Taxi, and blue Water Excursions are some examples. The each have a Facebook page with more info, as well a a Yelp page. You can always ask local businesses about other services and/or their recommendations.

On the second day, we returned to our campsite from the beach to find it completely stripped. There were marks on the ground from our tent having been dragged a very long distance. We went to the office and no one was there. The doors were locked and our tent was visible through the glass. The office had all of our contact information. The woman who checked us in (and as we found out later, stripped our campsite) did not speak English. She had all of our contact information on the form (which was in Spanish), including our phone numbers and email addresses. Clearly she did not understand what was going on and instead of contacting us or even just approaching us at the campgrouns, she chose to wait until we were at the beach to take all of our belongings and leave for the day. We were left with no food, water, tent, clothes, medixation, etc. that we needed. We waited for hours for her to come back, but she never did. There is no contact information for their office listed on the signs. We had to pay for transportation back to the town and find a hotel late at night. The next day, another employee let us take our belongings back and apologied for the other staff's lack of understanding/communication. This is when we noticed they had completely destroyed our backpacking tent (entire inside ripped out and several supporting poles broken in half) and that we were missing clothes and had other items damaged beyond repair. All of this aside, there is no more drinkable water here. Only one shower nozzle works (always a VERY long line). And the main bathrooms were only open on two days for a couple hours. They really let this place go downhill which is very disappointing, as my family always enjoyed it in the past. We recommend the hostel, which is the same cost as camping $30 AND comes with showers, working restrooms, clean sleeping areas, and staff that wont harrass you and treat you like total dirt. Save yourself the stress and enjoy your vacation.

Laura, her husband, and their son Damian were passionate about what they do and I absolutely enjoyed my time with them. It was my first time snorkeling, so you can imagine it was a bit scary for me. However, Laura and her family made me feel safe. They helped me adjust my mask until it was perfect and always checked on me to ensure I was safe and having a good time. In addition, they take photos for you and point out the turtles, sting rays, puffer fish, and other rarities so that you don't miss them. They also take photos for you so you don't have to carry your own camera. Booking a round trip ferry ride with C.I.A. is convenient and saves you the hassle of waiting for tickets at Fajardo Ferry (separate review). Booking with them guarantees you a RT ticket; you'll receive a text with details on getting your tickets. When you get to Culebra, Laura meets you and drives you to Tamarindo Beach where the fun begins! For the SeaVenture package, you start off with a short kayak to your snorkeling destination. You snorkel for a while and then kayak back to shore. Here, you'll have a lunch provided to you by Laura and her family. There's fruit, juice, soda, water, and these amazing sandwiches that are seriously to die for! Laura says it's made of blended cheese, ham, and peppers (I should have asked for the complete recipe!). After lunch, you snorkel in a separate area where the beautiful turtles hang out! This was my favorite part! You will be informed as to how to behave around them to avoid scaring them away. After this excursion, Laura drives you to the famous Flamenco Beach and picks you up in an hour (depending on when you finish the SeaVenture). She takes you straight to the ferry and you're off to Ceiba! All in all, I would definitely snorkel with C.I.A. in the future!!

I called them up to get some more details and make reservations. Damien Sr was very helpful in getting our ferry tickets even though we gave them a short notice. We needed transportation but ended up renting our own car, because they needed a min of 8 people to arrange transportation. Taxi is 20$pp, so paying 160$ for just the two us didn't make any sense. We were greeted by Laura at the Culebra terminal promptly on time. She drove us to Tamarind beach for snorkelling trip. The trip took a little while to start, we had to wait for some other guests to join us which a little bothersome as we were raring to go. Damien Jr explained the basics of kayaking and the tour details. The tour is split into two parts 1) Kayaking for 20 min to reach a good section of the reef and then snorkeling. 2) Snorkeling in another section to see the turtles and some coral reefs. They provided food/refreshments after we got back from the first section of the trip. They also took lots of pictures which was great. We saw a lot of fishes, sting rays, turtles, different kinds of corals. I would have liked to know more about the different kinds of fish and the coral that we saw. We spent a good amount of time in the water and after that Laura dropped us off at Flamenco beach. Flamenco beach was awesome, it has turquoise blue water and white sand, we spent around an hour at the beach. We left around 4 to catch the ferry back to Fajardo terminal. We had a great experience! Double thumbs up!
