I like this place and it's been a wonderful kids activity for summer. Two games of 5-pin bowling, bumper guards up on the gutters, and 3 pairs for shoe rental comes out to roughly $25. The staff has been on the (bowling) ball every time we've been! Some mechanical issues have been a bit of a drag with pins not resetting properly, but someone usually fixes it pretty quickly. The lounging areas have been relatively clean except for the last time which I think just hadn't been attended to yet. Seems to be a favourite of big groups like kids day camps and groups for disabled adults. We were introduced to Zone Bowling through a birthday party with a small group of kids and that was honestly an ideal experience. Love that all the food establishments are attached so there are many choices right there. read more

The game itself was fun and simple but it was hotter inside then outside on a summer day. Entire team dripping with sweat. Get the AC... Also, the pub area no longer exists so there's no option for staff to bring alcoholic Bev's and/or food to your table anymore. Decent bowling place next to SilverCity. Parking is available in the lot surrounding the building. The interior is a bit cheesy with the cheap disco lights. Not sure if it's every night, but they also had the whole cosmic black light thing going. There's also a coin-op arcade near the entrance. Staff were friendly and helpful. There are lanes for both 5 pin and 10 pin, which is actually quite nice. There are plenty of restaurants attached to the side, with interior entrances to the bowling area. Pretty nice for staying fed. Machines still look super dated with the 1990s cartoon graphics, though at least they use LCDs instead of CRTs. There are also some large screens showing music videos, which provides a bit more entertainment. The floor quality seems pretty decent. Not a bad place to chill while waiting for a movie next door. read more

Update: I have emailed, and messaged on fb and no reply and no refund as promised!!!! After an hrs wait we were put on lane 10. When we got to the lane there were no balls. We went up to reception and told them. They said they'd send someone. 15 mins passed no one came. We went back up. Some worker came and took two balls out for us. Which kept getting stuck underneath where the balls come up. 2. We went back up tell reception about this issue.... At the same time I told them that the gutters up is not working on lane 10 could they change lanes for us. They put us on lane 9.... I have a 5 year old who was struggling to roll the ball straight so would consistently get gutter balls. 3. We get on lane 9 and have to go up to reception again because gutters didn't work. They told us to wait 2 more turns and if it doesn't work to come back up... We waited two turns and still no gutters up. 4. We went back up to tell them about the gutters. The manager came over and lifted the gutter blockers... They then would not drop for anyone else's turn. I explained to the manager we're having a really horrible experience and he said either we could take the small fixes that he's doing which is lifting it and they can either stay up the whole game or down the whole game. Or I can get a refund. I said I would take the refund and he said perfect I'll meet you up front. When I got up front he explained that the policy is to send a refund in a cheque in the mail so I can't even take my children to another bowling alley to give them the experience that I wanted to for Family Day weekend. You guys have no problem taking money from customers but you guys will not give the money back when you guys can't provide a service that we paid for.... A cheque in the mail is absolutely ridiculous. I asked for a manager the guy said he is the manager I said we could have just switched Lanes to another Lane but you wouldn't provide us that you'd rather us leave and he said well I can get you in lane in about 10 minutes which at this point we had our street shoes on and we were ready to leave. He kept telling me that what happened is not his problem and not his fault. Miserable Staff Our group was 4 normal dudes and for some reason the staff were so wound up about us. We asked to play for half an hour while we waited for our movie. The lane was buggy and the staff wasn't thrilled to hear about it, we had not even bowled one ball. The problem fixed itself, they didn't say a word. Teen girl at the counter was particularly rude. This is my favourite spot for bowling. (Even though its owned by same owner as REVs Bowling. First, its just 15 mins drive from my house. Second, its in plaza where there is cinema and lots of vietnamees pho places which makes it my perfect evening spot. Watch movie- eat pho- playbowling- drive home Third n most importantly , it fits my pocket. $6.50 for a game of 10 pins which gives each player 20 chances to strike. Food and drinks available to purchase . I never had anything so cant comment. Couches to sit are comfortable, lots of bowls with different weights. Small kids play area. 2 table hockey tables is another reason of coming here quite often. As u know i give bonus points for very clean washrooms but there is not only clean but big too. One of the newer bowling lanes that I have seen, thinking about when was the last time a bowling lane was built? I am not the biggest bowler, I wouldn't say I am a bowler at all, but it is nice to be here, not just for the bowling, but for all the other things you can get here. This is a 10 pin bowling alley, with all the funky colored neon balls, and the nice lights to make it look like they probably have a disco night here and there. They have nice visable screens with scores for each lane, and cartoon graphics (the way to go to entertain the kids), the music in here is pretty good too. The real draw of this place is the food, as the eateries here have doors to access them from the parkade, and also within the bowling alley. So you want bar food, they have a pub area right inside the alley. You want mexican, there's a Taco-Del-Mar here, you want bubble tea go to Pearl Fever, you want sushi, I Love Sushi is there, and there are even more places. Also, it's right next door to the Coquitlam Silver City, so it's pretty convenient to come here after a flick. read more

Good for kids parties. The loss of star is for the fact we had to wait, with about 10 preschoolers, for the people in our lanes to finish up. About 15 minutes behind the schedule. It is hard to keep kids waiting for that long. Overall, fun lanes and lots of options for food, drinks, games and there is even a nail salon there! Every time I've been to this bowling alley, there's been some kind of technical issue on my lane. Last time the balls stopped coming back through the feeder so we had to pause our game to call someone over to fix it. Other than that, they have a good selection of balls (variety in weights) and the connecting Big River Restaurant will bring food and drinks to your lane. They have decent specials available but regular price for bowling is $5 per game and $4 for shoe rental. A fun place to go with friends or family and if you get tired of bowling, you can always walk across the street to see a movie. read more

The service was TERRIBLE... The lady forgot about us several times and was pretty damn rude to boot.... The food is WAYY overpriced, and possibly the worst food I've ever eaten in my life!! For a bowling alley, I'd give it a 3.5. It's relatively new, and has many lanes. A large parking lot is available. There's a pub attached here as well. It's usually quite busy here, so there might be a wait sometimes. There's 5 pin as well as 10 pin bowling here. Shoe rentals and a game is around $10. We came here once, without socks, so they also have a socks vending machines selling socks for $3 each. They also serve alcohol here while you play (makes the game that much more fun) but you have to drink behind the line. As well, you can order food that's regularly served on the pub menu. Try the garlic fries, they're pretty amazing (And bring gum.) read more

This place is located beside the Cineplex theatre in Coquitlam. It has 38 lanes in total which is pretty big compared to the bowling lane in my neighbourhood. Since it was a Friday night, all the lanes were taken except for few lanes at the end. 2 games and 2 shoe rentals cost us $34.00. I am not sure whether that is what the going rate is for bowling game. You can order food and drinks while you are bowling if you push a call button on the console. This seems pretty convenient as they also bring over the food/drinks. There are other options for food as few of the restaurants located in the same building have access door through the bowling alley. Only thing is that you aren't allowed to bring in outside food or drinks into the playing area. If I lived in the area, I would be back. read more

This place is nice as it combines both 5- and 10- pin bowling. However, you are going to pay more than a pretty penny for it! I cannot get over how expensive this place is... What's funnier is that they have an awesome selection of restaurants and drink places located in the same building but you are NOT ALLOWED to bring them to the table at your lane. Seriously, you have to buy your food or drink from the nasty Big River, or whatever it is called. The 'service' that the restaurant offers at the lanes is actually laughable. It took 25 minutes for someone to finally come and get our order. I was about ready to smuggle a Bubble Tea in... This place gets 3 stars because they are convenient, and it is easier to get a lane here on a busy night than at Rev's (where bowling is much more reasonable and the service is excellent!). read more

Zone Bowling is fun! They have 10 and 5 pin so whichever your heart desires! Plus, they serve food and drinks. What I've had as far as food and drinks has been decent! It's reasonably priced, you can find cheaper but it won't be as nice a venue. Plus, they have cosmic bowling which is with a black light and music. It's only at certain times though so phone ahead if you want to go specifically for that reason or what to avoid it. Also, they have nice couches to sit on while you wait for your turn. :) A small warning: When paying for your bowling the debit/credit machine asks for a tip! REALLY? You haven't even bowled yet, so are you tipping the desk person who has helped you for 30 seconds? Seems wrong. Definitely, tip the servers if you get food or drinks though! read more

Bowling was good, if not a little expensive. Service at their restaurant was AWFUL. Had to wait a little bit for a lane, no problem its Friday we get it. They suggested heading to the bar for a drink and some food. When our food came and our lane was ready, server said to let the front desk know to radio them with our lane number and they would bring our food. We did so and 15 mins later we are still waiting. Went back to the restaurant and our food and drinks were still sitting on the table - when this was pointed out the waitress rolled her eyes at us and said it wasn't her problem, she wasn't our server. Zone Bowling offers both 5 pin and 10 pin bowling. They are located right across from the Cineplex Theatre, so if you're on a "date" and things are going well this could be a good place to go after. The complex is also surrounded with a few restaurants (I have no clue how good they are, so yelp them). this was the worst experience ever! we got torn up shoes, an uncleared and dirty unsanitized area. we asked multiple times to have it cleaned and all that was done was a bunch of spray all over everything. nothing wiped down properly. then every frame we bowled the pins didn't worked. asked multiple times to get it fixed and nothing. then they had the nerve to say they don't refund!! i work hard for that $50 i used to try to give my family a fun night. this was by far the worst ever experience. i left and did t even play. what a scam. rip off. the. they say you cant even call a head office. you have to email for a refund. awfull experience. wont recommend it to anyone. don't go here. garage customer service. tthis place has really fone down the tiolet. its sad. the ownership should be embarrassed with jow this was not handled properly. you would think you would try harder during covid. what a joke!!!!! shame-full!! read more

Terrible service. Told staff machine was not working. Repeatedly did not count score correctly, kept putting pins back up that were knocked down. Didn't count strikes. Staff replied with, oh I will keep an eye on it. Tons of free lanes, they could have easily moved us. Old half eaten food left from previous players not cleaned up. Was given shoes with a huge hole. Although this establishment is new and update the employees are rude and disrespectful. I had gone there with my 7 year old daughter and my 17 month old son. I was not in line just trying to see if my group was there. An old man came up to me in a very rude tone told me that the bowlers must be 5 years old. So what are you telling us parents: do not bring children 4 and under are not allowed in your establishment, that mothers with new born babies going to a birthday party at your estblishment are not welcomed. As a league bowler at another bowling centre, I was happy to see the deals that were available. The downside is that every time I've been there with a friend, taking advantage of the Tuesday special, with the exception of one or two visits, the staff roll their eyes and take forever to address issues we've experienced, and that's when there aren't other people at the counter waiting to get to a lane. A couple of visits, my friend or myself were up to the counter to report technical issues or other glitches, which leads back to the staff comment earlier. Another problem was that they don't remind patrons enough about lane courtesy, or putting other patrons on lanes other than beside the ones we were on, running the risk of collisions, especially when it's young kids on the next lane. This weeks visit, we had to give up on enjoying our afternoon of bowling as the next lane would not show any courtesy. At our league centre, the staff there are always on top of any issues, including lane courtesy. My rating is due to last visit earlier this week, not for overall during summer, which is a 2.5. Aside from that, the food available is good and good selection as well, with a couple of restaurants brining our order out to the lanes we were on. read more

I have been to quite a few different bowling alleys and they all have been satisfactory, except for this one. The evening started with a 10 minute wait to just pay, the cashier could not figure out the family all paying together in front of us. Not to mention, her co-worker standing behind her never once offered to help us until the other transaction had been finished. Once we had paid, things only got worse. We ordered 4 beers (one for each of us), it took another 10-15 minutes to get them and the server only brought 3. She came back shortly after acknowledging her own mistake (she was the best we had all evening). A few frames into our second game we ordered 3 more beers, we received a bill, which I paid (now in hindsight I should have looked it over) I paid for someone else's food. I pointed it out to the server who brought me management. This took another 10 minutes. She offered to give be a 4th beer and leave the bill as is, I was fine with doing so as I understood a refund and such would just be messy (that was my second mistake). A server brought over two beers, we reminded her that we should be getting two more, she said that she thought we already had one. We let her know we should be getting two more and she returned with one. She gave us some reasoning as to the bar having last call and we would have to pay for it in the restaurant. I asked if she could issue me a refund since I didn't order a cheeseburger and paid for it but didn't get the beer I was offered to cover the difference. She snatched the receipts out of my hand and said " we will see" Next thing you know some bigger blonde lady is yelling at me, accusing me of calling her server a b*tch and that I can finish my game but to never come back. I spoke to the cashiers at the front desk and asked what that was all about. They let me know that they had lots of issues with that manager and her behaving that way. I was offered free games from one of the gentlemen who was supervising the bowling alley (thank you, but we will never use them). He gave me contact information for people above him to correct the billing issue. 2 weeks later, I have a response. After sending my e-mail twice. The e-mail accuses me of being intoxicated (off of the two beers I had been drinking that night) and that I had been extremely rude to the staff that evening. This came from the Director of Operations. No phone call to hear my side of the story, just accusations based on what his staff had told him. I have been told not to go back. But I plan to visit one last time, this time in restaurant where I will get to enjoy the service of the lady who yelled at me in front of my friends. She can expect her bill to be paid in coins, and with no tip. ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. I only gave it one star because I had to so I could write this post. And Dennis, the Director, must not take much pride in his establishment to allow his staff to behave the way they did without him present. read more

DO NOT BOOK YOUR KIDS BIRTHDAY PARTY HERE! We tried to have a birthday party at the Zone today. Big mistake! They get one star for being relatively clean, but other then that; the service was the worst I have experienced in quite awhile. These people are militant about "no outside food or drink", so when you book a party with them, you are entrusting them to be good hosts and provide food and beverages in a reasonable and timely fashion. Our party was booked from noon till 2 pm on a Sunday. Other then one other party going on beside us, the alley was empty. Our guests arrived and we started our games at noon... the front of house manager helped us with that. There were staff around, not doing much by what I saw. They were not helping customers. For example, it took the servers 45 minutes to come take our drink orders. This was after I spoke with the staff and manager (again) regarding the hold up and general lack of service. "Sorry there was a mix up and we are under staffed." Did I mention the alley was empty...! We kept having to prompt the staff. My impression is they clearly did not care, because the behaviour and service did not improve or change. The food arrived at 1:45 pm and we sang happy birthday at 2pm... as the kids were going home out the door...! Not a fun party, and parties should be fun. Well let me start off by saying how much I suck at bowling, and how I have always sucked at bowling ( I mean always ). Then let me tell you how much I love bowling, I mean really love to bowl (throw out a Saturday night of partying to get a few frames in kinda love). Now I suppose the criteria for what makes a great bowling centre is pretty easy to meet. Got pins? check Got bowling balls? check Got a chunk of wood to throw balls at pins on? Check. Alright your a bowling alley !!! Aside from that though they are fully licensed, the staff is really nice and funny, and the amenities surrounding cater to pretty much anyone. So there ya go you got it all. They do have a few kinks to work out as far as the bowling goes if you have (and I don't know if you know bowling or not but whatever google it) 4,7 - 4,8 - 5,8 - 5,9 - 6,9 - 6,10 .... well I wont go through them all but if you have a pin up with a pin behind it after you first throw, more often then not when the thing-a-majober comes down to reset the pins it will more often than not knock the back one down for you (or for them). So its a love hate kind of thing. Either way I'll be back again and again and you should go too!! read more

We wanted to go bowling somewhere in Coquitlam and decided to give this place a shot. They have 5 and 10 pin bowling. There are food shops in the building complex. There is also a Cineplex movie theatre and Cactus Club down the street. The nice thing is they also have pool tables and air hockey tables. We will be going back. read more

Lets face it, Bowling is bowling. It's everything else that I give th 1star for. This place has some of the worst bar service I have ever experienced, and I wasn't expecting much from an alley. Our drinks took about a 1/2 hour to get to us and they weren't even close to what we ordered. The second time they brought us our drinks they were terrible, and its a drink I often order with very common ingredients. The worst part was that the manager served us the second round and said that we would not be charged for the round of wrong drinks that we sent back, as if he were doing us a favor. Horrible went a few times with my 2 year old and they had shoes that fit. Found it odd it was full price for a 2 year old mid day on a week day? Even though it's expensive my son loved it so then we went back for a third time and they said sorry no kids under 5? I asked why they said it was their policy I asked if they had kids size eight shoe they said yes... I asked how is that supposed to fit a 5 year old? WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN HISTORY. Let me start off by saying I do not write reviews or like to fuss over things like this but thanks to Zone Bowling Centre at Coquitlam, I experienced THE most horrible service I have ever received in my entire life. First off, the actual bowling is ok. A little pricey but whatever. What ticked me off is the food service. Place an order that takes almost 45minutes to arrive, at which point our first game was almost over. Waitress brings over the food and then SPILLS IT ALL OVER THE TABLE. She murmurs a quick apology but did not even have the courtesy to clean the table. She returns soon after with my replacement meal and serves it on the messy table that she refused to clean. Like this wasn't bad enough, how on earth do u serve food without a damn drink or napkins????? The drinks I ordered with my food NEVER arrived. So I'm sitting there munching on some dry ass food, on a messy table with no paper towels to wipe my hands with and it so happened to be chicken wings I was eating. My friends ordered some alchohol at the beginning of our game. The server disappears and never shows up again. Towards the end of our game we had to go look for him and ask whats holding up the drinks. Again he SPILLS OUR DRINKS and says he would return with another one. Which he never did. Finally at the end of our second game some lady shows up with the drinks and has the nerve to charge us for such shitty service. This location needs to GET IT TOGETHER, I would never recommend anyone to this place, not even my worst enemy. And y'all need to give your rude and lazy servers some proper training cos clearly they can't do anything right, They have ONE JOB: SERVE! read more

The service at Zone Bowling is horrible and if I was the owner I would stay and watch a Saturday shift as it is one big line up with one cashier working and 2 girls in the back not doing much. I asked a girl why the other cash wasn't open and she replied with a smug we don't do that even though the line up was at least 10 people and as I said 2 girls behind counter doing nothing. One of the rudest customer service I have ever seen. I would go elsewhere however I am bound here by a league. Don't waste time coming here unless you want to wait in line. I don't want to be rude and all but I usually go to Rev bowling and after yesterday night I will keep going to Rev. I came to the zone yesterday thinking and hoping it would be a fun night out with the kids however did not leave a happy camper. The person that helped us with our shoes and lane was alright , we ordered our food 30 min before (costly for half nacho order $16) as per a previous review (it was not great ive had better :( ), another lane had just came and ordered their food and when our food came out the server gave it to the other lane when me and my kids were waiting prior. No apology the other lane continued to eat we then got our food later and well I guess I could have passed on the nachos.....We played our 1st game then I went back to pay for the kids second game and the game shut off after the 7th game. I then grabbed one of the employee hes like is the lane ok to sell? I said yes when we are done but we are still on frame 7 he then said he would go check..we patiently waited for 15 minutes at least then got upset told kids lets go home...When we went to give our shoes back I asked the employee again DID YOU GET A CHANCE TO LOOK WHY OUR GAME SHUT OFF ON FRAME 7 he said no i didnt have time I have to wait for these two lanes to finish prior to helping...Like seriously?
