Just scrolling through the first page of reviews I'm seeing some really good ones and some really bad ones. I guess mine is going to be a really good one. We had dinner at the Railhouse Restaurant (separate review) and we had planned on just going into the bowling area to check it out after dinnner, but the waitress gave us each $5 in arcade tokens (comes on a gift card thing) and off we went. I'm not a huge fan of all those games there, I typically find them too hard, not fun, and you never win any significant amount of tickets. This arcade had the same sort of games (Kung fu Panda game I'm looking at you) but some of the ones I liked were the Deal or no Deal, skee ball, basketball hoops, and they had a knock down the clowns game but it was super popular so we didn't play it. We spent most of our time on the penny pusher game. We ended up loading $10 more on one of our cards. We spent about 1.5 hours there. It was a lot of fun! Yes, it was super crowded and at times hard to walk around the games and the people since the games are very close together. But it was a Saturday night, what do you expect. There were also a lot of kids there, but duh it's a place for kids. So what if they are a little rambunctious, deal with it. I actually was more annoyed at some of the adults there than the children. Will possibly return for the arcade and to try laser tag but not the bowling because it didn't seem like the best deal to me. They are also getting an escape room this month and we love escape rooms so we will probably check that out as well. read more

do not attend if manager bo is working...he needs extensive hr management training. he approached my group as if he was a patrine and not of management material. my group had a whistle that only blew for the 1st 6 lines and only if someone got a strike. we made a fun game put of life stresses. bo came to my lane 4 like a customer and said you are annoying and to stop blowing the whistle. i asked him which lane he was in because the first 4 was in on the game! he told he it doesn't matter stop it or get out. long story short mr. bo has serious issues outside of a whistle. since this is a very trying time around the world you would think the staff would have better support from their management team. read more

Went here with a group for The Office trivia on 2/26/19. It was a very interesting place that I thought was neat at first. The bar service for the Rail Bar was awful (both at the bar and at a table), my brother sent his burger back because it was terrible, and the trivia host was extremely rude. The trivia host made an offending comment about the visually impaired and accused us of cheating in front of the entire bar over her microphone. We absolutely have nothing to gain from winning bar trivia and if it was such a problem that our friend (who was not playing) was working on his phone at the end of our table she could of asked him nicely to take his business elsewhere. We will absolutely avoid this bar going forward. read more

Came out for a family night with about 10 of us including kids. Played laser tag and needed to split the payment for it between two parties..the manager made it seem like a problem and Told is we were "making her head hurt" mean while they made the mistake not us. Went to bowl and ordered food for the whole family in the beginning...didn't get the food until near the end of our game...they shut our game off and sold our lane to another party after a hour..JUST as we received our food and asked US to move to the bar with our 5 KIDS who had not even begun to eat yet. Manager was unapologetically indifferent...very unacceptable experience...do not recommend going with your family. read more

We called ahead of time to inquire about the wait for a lane to bowl. The person on the phone said that there was no wait and lanes were available. We drove ten minutes to bowl, and upon arriving the person at the desk told us it was 1.5 hour wait. INCOMPETENT EMPLOYEES who don't know what they are doing at the risk of losing business. I would just love to give a round of applause for Zone 28 for helping myself & a group of my classmates last minute with the booking of a large group for a reunion when our other venue cancelled on us very last minute. The manager (sorry, I forgot your name!) graciously offered the VIP section for our party as well as being able to provide drink tickets all at last minute & during a busy Friday at that. Took my girlfriend and her little cousin and grandmother and friend to go bowling. Got a lane for a hour. We had fun bowling. However the place was packed and we were going to order food at the lane but no one came around until our time was up in about 20 mins. So we waited to go sit in the restaurant. Finished bowling and went over and were standing there waiting to be seated. No one was helping us someone said just grab anywhere open. Well anywhere that was open have dishes stacked. We went outside waited 10 mins went back in and found somewhere to sit. At this point only saw 2 girls working. They kept saying some one will be here to help you they both did. So two girls working both saying they other one will help you soon didn't make sense. So we gave them 15 mins and no one came over to take drink orders or anything. We gave up and left. Maybe on a night during the week would be better but Saturday night good luck trying to get anyone to help you. read more

If we didn't ask for service, we would have been ignored all night. Apparently they are understaffed, which is difficult and I am sympathetic, however, they could have checked on us without us begging them to serve us. read more

As much as I hate to give a place a bad review, Zone 28 really didn't leave much of a choice. Besides the food and the one employee there that actually knew what she was doing and went above and beyond in attempts to make up for the slack of everyone else, the place was a joke. My boyfriend and I had a bartender that was rude to everyone except the three college aged boys who were paying her undeserved compliments. Because I asked her for a drink she didn't have the ingredients to make, somehow that warranted an attitude that she thought legitimized her behavior. Horrible service too. And moving on to the main event, bowling, we arrived at 10pm, all of the lanes were open, yet we were given the choice to only bolt 20 minutes, or to wait until 11pm. Never heard of such a thing. We were then given a lane that hadn't been working all night, yet they somehow I guess felt that it would work for us, which it did it, so they switched us over to another, that didn't work for awhile either. The whole night was like pulling teeth trying to make things go smoothly, it just wasn't worth all the hassle. My advice, I can't be the only one writing a review like this, the place sucks. Do yourself a favor, Drive the extra minutes to go somewhere better, you'll thank yourself, trust me! read more

Came here to bowl with my friends we paid for an hour of a lane to bowl. Ordered food and we did not get our food till our bowling was over. They brought it to us and we started to eat. In the middle of eating they told us they had people waiting for a lane and made us pick our plates up and all our stuff and god sit in the bar..... the servers were rude as hell to us. read more

Simply terrible, the kids had fun but I did not. We were the only ones there on the day that we went. There was no music playing and a lot of the games were broken and keep money from the kids. I had high hopes for Funfest because I remember going here on school field trips and having a blast. This place is in need of some serious repair. Everything seems really out dated and used. Like the owners are just too cheap to replace or fix what needs to be fixed. The bowling is very expensive here. I had to pay $70.00 for bowling they charge extra for using the bumpers. Funfest is gross and run down. I am giving two stars because the pizza was good and it's very spacious inside. read more

Super fun! This place is always clean and welcoming, and their bar is amazingly well stocked for a bowling alley. They have TONS of beers on draft. The only downside is that it is a bit pricey. read more

Poor service. Got ripped off. The bumper cars and laser tag were not open. The machines kept eating our money and coins. When we showed up they gave us a bowling lane that had about 11 people still at it and it took them about 20 minutes to clean up and then took that off of our time. The pins were not setting up properly. The service was terrible in the food area. They took our drinks without asking. We spent a lot of money tonight and it was not worth it at all. I felt very ripped off and not was not treated fairly at all. read more

Our group got there at 11:00pm . For some reason, they charged us $22.00 each for the all-night pass, but it didn't start until 12:30. We just had to sit around for an hour and a half since everything was closed. Weird? Yup. Will we go back? Nope. read more

I am not from this area, but my company hosted their annual Christmas party at Zone 28. I was pleasantly surprised when I got there to see that it was an indoor activity center, restaurant and bar. Our company was there for about 6 1/2 or seven hours during which time we were able to bowl if we wanted to or play the arcade games. Everybody seem to have a lot of fun playing the games. However we also had a catered lunch there as well. The food was mediocre at best. There was nothing special about it and it was not well prepared. We had a prime rib that tasted like an over cooked hamburger, stuffed chicken breast that was drowned in barbecue sauce (Who puts bbq sauce on stuffed chicken breast?) Plus the catering staff waited until containers were completely empty before they came in and replaced them with fresh containers of food. There is nothing worse than having to scrape dried mashed potatoes from the corners of a pan in order to eat lunch. And about a third of the dishes in the stack of plates were very unclean. Obviously their dishwashing unit was not working properly! The activities were fun but the food I'll give it two out of five. I would definitely go back if I was going just to have drinks and play, but I will probably never eat there again. read more

One of the nicer bowling alleys on this side of the city, but there are some major staffing and logistical issues. Even on busy nights the bar is usually staffed with only one bartender and it takes quite a while to be served. Melissa was also one of the rudest bartenders I've ever dealt with, very bad attitude and doesn't seem to know pleasantries such as "please" and "thank you." The check-in process for a lane is also unusually slow and convoluted. They have a special that starts at a certain time on weekends but require the lanes to be cleared before it begins?? Even if you don't mind paying the normal (higher) rate, you're required to give up the lane by the time the special starts. They'll make you wait 40 minutes until the special starts to get a lane. If they could clean up the logistical problems and establish some basic customer service, it would be a great place. read more

Nice bowling and laser tag -- HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Spent over 200.00 in bowling, beer, and laser tag for 6 people and asked to play teams rather than solo. Associate nicely said no. Manager also said no with an explanation of "it's for your safety." I said everyone playing (10 ppl) want to play teams... His response, "you make your own teams once it starts." IN THE DARK?!?! Bottom line, care about the customers want and do something about it!! Spend your money elsewhere. read more

So expensive and not worth it at all. Staff was rude. Not a good experience. Would not recommend at all.

I stopped for lunch at the rail house restaurant, sat at the bar and ordered a draft, then I ordered the applewood bacon burger well done. I received my food and took a bite , just a little pink no biggie , took a second bite and just got more rare it was actually cold in the middle. So after sitting idle for 15 minutes waiting for a server to come back around and check on me, I sent it back. Then they still were going to charge me, after getting the manager involved and credited for the burger I paid my tab and left. First impressions are everything for me wont be going again read more

We are visiting from New York and decided to bowl with family. On the bowling end...what a great experience! Fun atmosphere and music! The bartender however had to have been on drugs. There was literally one customer in front of me and she took forever! I only ordered two beers...they cost $9.01. How bizarre. She took a lifetime to count back my 99 cents. I am a bartender and feel justified saying they should hire a drug free employee, it's a shame to let her ruin an otherwise fun time! read more

I love ALL the employees at this business. They are all fantastic (for the most part). BUT it is extremely expensive. You must be sure to always get a coupon before you go here. When I lived in Pittsburgh for a couple of years, I visited this location a few times for different (adult) birthday parties. The laser tag was always a blast, and the food was good, especially the pizza. I also thought it was fun that they served beer here. I know that they work with a lot of local nonprofits on fundraisers, which I think is excellent for community involvement. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the new additions scheduled for 2015, excited for bumper cars! read more

We had our company holiday party here and let me tell you, it was like having a 10 year Olds birthday party with how much fun we had! The arcade games were great and there is Lazer tag (sadly we didn't get to play! ) the pizza was the BEST bowling alley pizza I have had in a very long time! read more

The most high tech bowling I have ever seen! They play music video along side of the bowling screen and have images of Pittsburgh above the lanes. They have cosmic (glow) bowling as well as bumper cars and laser tag. I am unsure of pricing since I was there for a fundraiser. Overall, very clean with friendly staff and spacious lane areas for hanging out. read more

Went to fun fest for some late night bowling. Two games were 25 dollars! What? The atmosphere was strange. Everyone from families to people in their 20s out drinking. If I could give negative stars, I would. My daughter's birthday party was met with rude, difficult staff, floors so sticky people walked out of their shoes, over half of the arcade games were broken, 4 of the "guns" broken for laser tag, ZERO SUPERVISION IN LASER TAG for children 7 and under so there were 3 injuries - which was next to impossible to get "first aid" for (i.e. ice) - that bathrooms smelled like they hadn't been cleaned in months with tiles falling off the wall & no "souvenir pin" as promised. When tried speaking to a manager, was blown off and even after calling and emailing in to follow up with Fun Fest to explain how bad the entire thing was - received no call back. For how expensive this place is - you'd think the place would at least be clean - but even the tables that my kids were expected to eat on were filthy read more

I went here for maybe the second time tonight and, I gotta say, I loved it. There are a decent amount of bowling lanes all lit up, a restaurant, two bars, laser tag and an escape room coming Feb 2018. The kids I went with loved all the arcade game varieties and the laser tag was reasonably priced. I've come here before to do bowling at night with my friends and loved it as well. If I had the choice of coming here again, I'd do it in a heartbeat. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The girl running the escape room on 12/28/18 was amazing and the girl running the side bar at the restaurant was awake some as well. The two girls running the bar tonight were horrible. They were so rude. We had a table that was wobbly and our beer spilled 45 minutes after we got here, mind you it took 30 minutes to even get a beer they ignored us when we were clearly there way before other people. She threatened to cut us off after one beer for spilling it. We came back an hour later after the escape room and ordered drinks. I asked for a plastic cup and she was like " I mean there are cups there" pointing with her eyes and clearly they were the size of shots glasses, not enough to hold a drink. There were multiple other things that happened that night with those two girls but it's too much to write. They need to get new bar tenders in that area. Had a great time with my family. The staff is very friendly. The prices are lower now and they have some great deals. My kids had a lot of fun in the Hurricane simulator machine. They also have a kids bowl free all summer program. Thanks Fun Fest. read more

We had an office party at Zone28 that got rave reviews from our 20 year olds.....up to the 60 year olds!! It is a great place for a group team building event. Their private area, Suite 28, has a large meeting room and 8 private bowling alleys. They served us an impressive lunch buffet. We spent the afternoon playing laser tag, bumper cars, billiards, bowling and many NEW arcade games!! Highly recommend. read more

Fun Fest Center is an outstanding place to hold a kids birthday party. As an example - I was invited to Sammy's birthday party last week. In full disclosure, I don't get invited to many birthday parties these days, so it was a treat to attend. This is a large venue with many different activites sure to thrill kids. They must have something like two dozen bowling lanes, and who doesn't like bowling? The large arcade has all kinds of different fun games for kids, including skiball and other games which rewards players with redeemable tickets for toys at the end. Then they of course have a laser tag arena which is awesome - an indoor dark maze of walls and glow in the dark lights. When decked out in their fighting gear kids end up looking like martians. This venue has many seperate private party / dining areas, so you can have your group eating lunch and birthcake all together. The staff was on point and friendly. They make kids smile - and that is to be commended. I don't have kids, but if I did - 6th year birthday party would take place at Fun Fest Center. read more

I went there this weekend with my niece for the first time since it was remodeled. We bowled in the VIP area and it was so cool! It was nice to have more privacy and less people around when trying to chase a three year old around. I highly recommend. read more
