Calling all game lovers! Victory Pointe is the spot in Pittsburgh to play a huge range of games, all in one place. Classic and modern consoles, arcade favorites, pinball, tabletop, and/or virtual reality - if you want to try or enjoy a specific game style, you'll probably find that style here (either on their first floor or second floor level). Before you get started on your gaming adventures, you'll just want to visit their front desk and purchase a band or pass. They sell these on an hourly, weekly, or monthly basis. While checking in, you can also grab a bottle opener, since this place is BYOB (though they do have some requirements and limits for this on their website). Once you have your band, you are good to go - no quarters are needed for these games! You'll also want to bring your sweet tooth - while Victory Pointe doesn't have a lunch or dinner menu, they do have ice cream. From single scoops to shakes and sundaes, there's plenty of treats to pick from (with a good bit of the shake menu named after various nerdy themes). Follow that up with a coffee, tea, or cold beverage as needed. If any of what I just said sounds cool, you'll definitely want to check out Victory Pointe. Why have I never discovered this place before? You pay a reasonable amount of money to play arcade games for an hour unlimited. There's levels to the fun here...literally. Upstairs they have all the old consoles and that's included in the hour of play! I took a trip down memory lane while sipping a gourmet milkshake and enjoyed playing Mario Kart, Diddy Kong Racing and Wii Sports. Their library of video games is impressive. They also have VR but it was booked pretty solid. I don't know if was extra money but after checking out the VR room I would definitely come back to try out some of their games. read more

This place used to be pretty cool. I loved coming in, getting an all-day pass with my friend, getting great coffee, and then playing games all night. But just went to take another friend there for the first time, and they informed us that they no longer do the all day wristbands, and that everything is per hour. $7 per hour for arcade and console games, and then $11/half hour for the VR? Nah. It's just not worth it anymore. That's depressing for what used to be one of my favorite date spots in Pittsburgh, and now it's overpriced. read more

If you're an 80's baby who grew up on gaming, this place is going to bring back a lot of memories and make a lot of new ones. I got to talk to the owner Joe and all of the units in this place were from his personal collection when he decided, "this would make for an awesome public gaming hut". Located next to Jacks in Pittsburgh's South Side, Victory Point is not just your run of the mill arcade. Boasting 50 some arcade units ranging from Pinball to the Simpsons there's something for everyone. He has units that made my jaw drop to the floor like NINJA BATMAN, A MEGA MAN FIGHTING GAME, BATTLETOADS and of course all the fighting units from Street Fighter to Killer Instincts! They even have new units like BATMAN, TRANSFORMERS and MARIO KART. Their Pinball Machine selection is awesome also with a kick ass Wizard of OZ one and even Dr Who! The selection of games doesn't stop there though. They also have a bar with about 8 flat screen TVs with any gaming unit you want and a huge selection of games. They even have tournaments and the night I went they were having a Mortal Kombat X tourney, super chill. They plan on opening a kitchen soon for food but for now you can get a selection of soda and water as well as lattes, coffees and MilkShakes. You're probably wondering how much it costs to play all these awesome games and that answer itself awesome, $10 all you can play! It's also BYOB and Jacks next door makes that super convenient. Grab a six pack and start gaming! They even have an upstairs strictly dedicated to board games, Monopoly anyone? The hours are 5pm-10pm during the week and I think later and more day time on the weekends. This is a super fun place and I met a lot of awesome folks willing to jump on a unit and try to beat the game or even gather in some friendly fighting matches. I drank Mt Dew till I was Getty like a 10 year old and beat Bucky O'Hare with a new friend I made, ITheConflict during a meet up they were having with local musician SYKES. All in all, I would go back in a heart beat just for a chill time with cool people and awesome games. They have a full menu that we didn't try, but the chef is celiac, so she has a careful and extensive gfree menu! On a rainy September afternoon, I wanted to take my little brother somewhere for the afternoon. A google search resulted in this place. So, we took the hour drive to Pittsburgh to check it out. We found the place rather easily, parked for free on the street since it was a Sunday, and quickly made the rainy walk across the street. We were greeted by a man, who easily recognized that this was our first time. He explained our options, and we opted to pay $15/each for unlimited gaming for the day. (You can a bracelet that denotes that you're a paid customer.) Not too shabby. We started with the pinball machines - of which there are so many. Moved on to some shooter games, Pac Man, and some old school fighting arcade games. The first floor is where the arcade games and ice cream/milkshake counter is. Then, we went upstairs where we found just about every video game system imaginable, a VR room, and a wall full of obscure board/card games. The upstairs room is a little strange at first, but you get over it quickly when you realize how much awesome stuff is on the 2nd floor. It became abundantly clear that this arcade is for the 20- or 30-something crowd. However, still lots of teenagers in the establishment, too. When it's your first time visiting like it was for us, it can be a little overwhelming and intimidating to walk around and check out all the options. However, the folks working there are nice enough to help you out with whatever you need. I was told I needed to get a milkshake while here, and I did. I got the peanut butter/banana shake and it was awesome. Overall, this seems like a wonderful place to spend a rainy weekend day. I think next time it would be more beneficial to visit with a group of my nerdy friends. read more

This is a nice arcade that recently opened in the South Side. They have a great selection of games, especially if you are a fan of the old-school fighting games. I didn't eat there, but they have a little cafe/ snack bar there with a surprisingly good-sized menu. It's also BYOB and right next to Jack's, so that is also a really convenient aspect. They do offer an hourly or All-You-Can-Play rate, but I was bummed to see that it only applied to some of the games. I mostly play the pinball games, which were a little over-priced based on other places I've been. They give you deals if you buy over $10 in tokens, so you get 44 tokens for the price on 40. That being said, they have a great gaming collection and it's a fun place to check out if you are looking for something different to do! read more

This place is a gem. There are ample arcade games downstairs and tons of board games and consoles upstairs. They even have a VR room, where you can have access to their VR setup and many many games (probably just for half an hour, since it's so popular -- go when it's not as busy!). We easily spent five hours there, switching among console games and the VR setup. It's a great way to try out games if you're not sue that you want to invest in a particular console or game. Plus, it's only $15 for the whole day (or $5/hr), and the people who work there are so friendly and knowledgeable. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back, hopefully with more people in tow. read more

Victory Pointe is exactly what this city needs! I was delightfully glad when I strolled into this arcade, the two girls playing DDR stopped to explain everything to us and allowed us to take a look around the place. After being explained the pricing we opted for the play all day band and had a great time!! All the machines are in working condition, something you won't find at other local pay by the hour arcades, the games were of so many vast genres that when me and my partner were done playing together, we went our separate ways and each found a machine to camp out on. We were never felt rushed and had the best level of service while there, we ordered a butterbeer cold, and it was delicious. I can't wait to go back again! read more

I absolutely love arcades and barcades. I was so pumped to have this place in my neighborhood! My boyfriend and I wanted to stop by for an hour and play some games. The person behind the counter sped through the explanation of how to play games with a wristband vs per game vs through tokens (? I'm still not 100% sure how it works) so quickly we had to ask them to repeat themselves twice. We got the hour wristbands and found that quite a few of the games didn't work. Either that, or trying to play them was too complicated for us... which is strange, considering I've played The Simpsons arcade game probably a thousand times in my life. A lot of the games had stickers on them explaining how you could play them with wristbands vs. tokens... it was just all way too confusing for spending $20 on an hour. My ONLY complaint about VP is the fact they're not ADA accessible, a fact the staff knows about and wishes they could change, but local historical codes prevent them from changing the building, meaning I can't do nearly as much here as I'd wish. I've been here several times, and as a fighting game fan/avid gamer I really enjoy it. Their library of console games is immense, and their cabinets for fighting games has a decent selection as well. It costs $10 for all you can play console/board/some arcade games, which also gives you 4 tokens, or $5 for an hour. I kinda don't care about the tokens, but they're used on a few "premium" games. I usually just play Mario Kart Arcade with my gf once and move on. (If you want to play pinball, you may not enjoy this place the same. I haven't tried much of their food, but their milkshakes/coffee is really good. It's BYOB with a fee, so if you want to drink that's an option as well. Also they have tournaments and events every so often which are worth checking out. If you're looking for a bit more relaxing/cheaper alternative to Dave and Busters but for other games instead, this isn't a place to miss. read more

Oh how I love this place! Yes it is small but it packs alot of punch. First floor is home to the ice cream bar and arcade machines while the top floor is home to the console/board games. I've been here a few times now, and I find myself enjoying it more each visit. Their game selection is excellent, given the size of the location. 6-8 popular pins, a few oversize cabinet games (shooters/driving games), a NEO-GEO 4 cart MVS, DDR Supernova 2, and about a dozen JP-style cabinets with a wide variety of fighting and vertical shooters. There's also a Console Bar, where you can load up any one of an absurd number of games from the NES to PS4 for a flat rate. Honestly, all that is what I would consider standard for a good arcade. Disclaimer- I'm an 80s kid so I have rather high standards for arcades. What I think tips the scale is the food and drink selection they offer. No, you won't get chicken courdon bleu or whatever places like D&B are offering now, but they serve a solid burger, floats, coffee/espresso, etc., at very reasonable prices. No alcohol, but BYOB (no hard liquor) with a minute corkage fee. If you've been itching to get your arcade fix, give this place a shot. Grab a snack and game on! read more

I had an absolutely wonderful experience here last night! First, I am recently gluten free because I was diagnosed with celiacs and the kitchen is completely gluten free and has designated areas for gluten. Which from what I have read is unheard of. I had the butter beer milkshake it was great I loved it and I had the quesadillas as well. I loved it all and really look forward to going back! All of the staff is super friendly, so even if your not a gamer make sure you check this place out, I would go here for the food alone!! I'd been told about this place by several friends, so myself and two friends decided to go check it out. The main floor is a little snack/coffee/milkshake bar (with a surprisingly decent amount of options) and the arcade games. They have an hourly rate, play all day wristband, and different types of specials throughout the week (like a kids day where they get discounted entry). We hung out for probably 3 hours and had a great times. We hit a lot of the arcade machines, including, of course, several rounds of Mortal Kombat 3. We mostly came for the DDR machine and two dudes camped out on it for the first hour we were there, but we eventually got to play a few rounds, which was a fun blast from the past. We wandered upstairs and found a HUGE number of board games, every console ever with an amazing selection of games to play, plus a virtual reality room. We checked out some board games while we waited for our turn in the VR room. My two friends played it some and it was hilarious watching them. We went there last night for our Valentine's Day date. Its a decent little arcade on the bottom floor with food and non-alcoholic drinks. You can BYOB and Jack's is next door. Its $5.00/hour if you want to play or $15.00 to play as much as you want. There are about 20-30 various arcade games. Some classic stuff, some big units. Not quite as many games at, say Dave and Busters. But if you like classic games, especially Capcom, then this place is great. As I'm a Gen Xer, this sort of thing is right up my alley. I believe most of the games are set up on emulators. They feature mostly the Japanese versions of the games which has both its positives and negatives. Unless you can read katakana or hiragana, you will likely be lost unless you have played the game before. They have a few shooting games and one side by side racing game...MarioKart, which is perhaps one of the most fun racing games out there. They also have about ten pinball machines which is really cool. Mostly all new and modern stuff but if you like pinball, this is pretty rad. On the top floor they also have a handful of classic consoles and TVs setup. I guess they have modern stuff, too. We played some N64 for awhile but it was a bit boring, as the TV is pretty small and one of the controllers was not working very well. They also have probably 100 board games for play. Its a neat setup but several of the people up there had some BO issues and we got bored of it relatively quickly. We also came here for food. Pretty much everything on the menu is $5 or less. Its all bar/munchie food. Plus some fun dessert things like crepes and milk shakes. I wanted to get my woman a milk shake but she wasn't in the mood. We each got a burger, shared some fries and some fried zucchini. The menu says you can get the burgers cooked to order. I asked for mid rare and they said they couldn't do mid rare, medium was as rare as I could get it. That's fine. I ordered mine medium and her's well done. They both came the same temp...which was well done on one side and medium rare on the other! So we swapped burger halves and we were all good. The fries were good. We got them with bacon, cheese and sour creme. They are good handcut fries. Could have had more bacon but they were very yummy. The fried zucchini planks weren't the best. The batter was good but it was grease logged. The marinara sauce was watery. But all in all, for $20, it was a good meal and worth it. The place is pretty cool. Its in an older building (its Pittsburgh, part of the charm). It could be a little cleaner and stuff but its not that big of a deal. The staff is all very friendly. Most of the games are well taken care of, compared to Games N @. We paid $15 for the all day play and played for about three hours. Its definitely worth it if you show up and just play...all day long. read more
