4.5 stars. Zone 28 is a restaurant and entertainment complex. It has the Rail House restaurant, End Zone Sports Bar, a 33-lane bowling alley, several dozen arcade games, laser tag, escape rooms, space for private events, and more. For years, my family has been coming here for birthday parties and everyday fun. More recently, my husband had a work event here, and his employees seemed to enjoy the foods, drinks, and games. I think that the restaurant's casual foods such as pizzas and its alcoholic beverages such as cocktails taste very good. The kids "loved" the bowling and arcade games and spent hours playing them. The games are fun for adults, too (I liked the air hockey and laser tag, although I am not the most skilled at them!). The only problem that we have had was that a photo printer was out of paper, and we had to wait for the paper to be replaced. The employees spoke nicely with us. read more

I'm always looking for indoor activities to do when it's too hot outside and Zone 28 is a great option. At 5000 square feet it's HUGE inside. There is SO much to do inside! We started off bowling and of course needed some snacks and drinks for fuel! I got a couple of cocktails and while they were craft by any means, they were decent and I appreciate the frozen options. I liked the large app sampler platter we got and it had so food that we had leftovers to take home. The staff member who checked in on us was super nice. Afterwards, we played some of their arcade games (there's over 85!) and checked out the prizes in their redemption area. I also appreciate that they gave us to go cups for the arcade portion so there wasn't any spillage. There's also laser tag, escape rooms, and a couple of restaurants with plenty of drink and food options so there's really something for everyone! I will note, we went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty crowded with families and there were multiple private rooms for birthday parties. Our eight-year-old daughter's obsession with arcades and laser tag brought us to Zone 28, a spacious game zone. With a large parking lot out front, we walked in and got the Memorial Day weekend deal- $30 game cards and an hour of free bowling for $25. We started with bowling. Their lanes are high tech with the option for bumpers and fun add ons. We picked the game that took our faces and made funny movies in between moves. The laser tag is fun too! For $8 per person, you get a longer-than-normal game. It felt like it was around 10-12 minutes of play. The arcade is basic. There are a number of games. Many of them are rip offs. Some are fun. Once you get your tickets on your game card, you can cash it in for prizes like candy, games, and toys. read more

This place has bright lights fun music and food and drinks BUT they are price gouging its patrons. We came on a weekend day and it's $65/hour!!!! We were going to do two but not with those prices. And honestly I get it a LITTLE bit BUT THE amount of time wasted on waiting for the pins to reset or getting our balls back is half the time. My uncle is a bowler and has his own ball and it kept getting stuck as well as their own balls but they blamed it on having his own. We barely got through two games in an hour. This is not the place if you want to just bowl and have a good time. This is the place if you want to go to Dave and busters but have less games and more kids read more

Zone 28 was a lot of fun. I went with a large group of friends on a Saturday night. Our three bowling lanes were available at 8 and we played unlimited games for two hours. Shoes were included in the rental but you didn't have to wear them. Easy parking. Only issue, it was very slow getting a beverage at the bar. We requested a cocktail waitress and when we were done playing we had to search to cash out the check. I'd go back!!! read more

Where to start with this place. - $65 / hour for bowling is a huge rip off when the following issues are going on: - cameras on the game monitors when signing up players didn't work. - balls get stuck in return taking uo time. - the pizza is hard and the chicken tenders are breaded beyond relief. - staff moves your stuff when you're in the bathroom and there's 10 minutes left of bowling. - the arcade is totally rigged and impossible to win any games. Overpriced food, broken games, slow service, and unhelpful staff--avoid this place. I suggest not dining here. The food is overpriced and bland, and there was only one waiter for the whole area, which made service very slow. During our visit, the games were down for hours, even though staff told us they would be back up much sooner. When the machines finally came back online, my game cards showed zero balance with no history--even though I had checked the balances online before arriving. I explained this to a staff member, but she was dismissive and unhelpful. She simply swiped the cards, repeated back that they showed zero, and offered no solution. Love it here but watch out for the chick that has cruela duvel hair. She is so rude and has no ability to have a good attitude when it comes to customer service: if I wasn't such a regular here I would never come back again based off of how she treated me. Horrible experience. read more

First of all zero store if I could ...I asked if we could just do four of our friends for laser tag and they ignored me and push us in with a bunch of 4-6yrs olds with the parents playing was very awkward and weird just not needed when I said it's us for 4 alone... so not what I wanted to do for my brothers 18th birthday they weren't cooperative or anything I won't be back. It was very unpleasant and the whole night was a mess the whole place needs to be reevaluated was very dirty all night ....had a bunch of little 15-year-old snotty girls working the laser tag typical that they had an attitude's... need to be fired very unappropriate and disrespectful . read more

Since it was our first time there I asked the attendant how much and she explained everything. Then she upgraded us to the vip room that we could have to ourselves. We were happy to find a place that was open during Covid and the website said they were complying with masking requirements so we went. We bought the "Winter Special" which was an hour of bowling plus $28 toward arcade games for $20 each. With 6 of us on a lane, we only got in one game plus 2 extra frames so that was a bit disappointing. We ordered food and it came fairly quickly but the waitress forgot to put in one of the items so we never received it. No biggie though as she seemed very busy. We were, however, very disappointed that many of the bowling patrons had taken off their masks and no one seemed to mind. The arcade portion was a lot of fun. Games ranged from 25 cents to $3-ish. The prize area was really nice and my kids loved the items they won. We will probably return but after the pandemic ends. read more

I've been here a few times. Pre-covid, in the thick of covid, and just recently. The place is ok. They have pool table, video games, laser tag and bowling. Each time we came here we bowled. The first time was for my gyms Christmas party a few years back. They have a semi-private room that has about 8 lanes or so, some tables and a place to set up a buffet. The gym picked some of your typical basics, pizza and chicken fingers is all I can really remember. Very average to below average food but it was free, well to me at least. The bar area, located in the middle of the place was chaotic. This held true at every stop from here forward. Second visit, summer of 2020. Oh 2020, how I look back and still dislike our time together. Height of COVID. Yes the staff and ppl wore masks but if I recall you could take it off in your bowling section. The bar during this time just as chaotic and disorganized as the first time but with way less ppl. We bowled this time and had fun with the kids, we did not eat. This past time we came here to meet up with my in-laws. There were five adults and five kids and you could not reserve a lane. So we waited, and waited. It was about a three hour wait to bowl. If it was up to me I would have left. While we waited we sat in the bar area at a table and had some drinks. They were overpriced (which is expected) and again chaotic. I think all the people that work here hate it and they were probably understaffed. There were so many patrons in there it seemed like a fire hazard. Finally we got to bowl and it was $100.00 for two lanes for an hour. We got in a game and a half and that was it. Overall if you want to bowl you can, you just might have to wait a while VS other places where you can't bowl at all on a Saturday because of leagues and that BS. This is a spot good for all ages. There's bowling, laser tag, arcade games, and a restaurant and bar attached. It's a trendier bowling spot that's definitely been updated, but for $50 a Lane for an hour, it was really a rip off. We probably played only two games and then it was time to go. We really liked the arcade games because they have really new machines like connect four basketball and multiplayer VR games. Went for something to do on a Sunday afternoon/evening. Typical arcade bowling alley setting. Expect a lot of kids. But for a group of adults it's fun to just hangout and bowl for a few hours. Overall clean, no funky smells. I would recommend for something to do if you're bored. read more

I was just there Sunday May 21, 2023. I went because it was a day after my Birthday and not far from Cranberry Twp. The Prices are sorta high $50.00 for an hour. I brought in my own Balls, Shoes, and it takes me time to set up. I was told at desk that I could go as a walk on since I couldn't start bowling. I was still getting a drink etc. then I was ready. I paid for 4 hours which is $200.00 and my Balls that usually play well were not doing exactly that. My Reactive Ball kept going Extreme Left. No matter how I adjusted myself, it wanted to go Extreme Left. Mix Ball wasn't exactly doing that much better. Mostly falling short of the end pins. The Straight Ball can't be used. It kept going Extreme Left and not aiming. So I relied on the Reactive Ball and kept figuring out the Mix Ball. The Lanes are oiled very differently and I was told they are just for Entertainment only. Unless it's Leagues, oil is laid out everywhere and your balls need wiped off frequently. This isn't bad though. Although High Numbers of Strikes and Spares are Lowered, I'm not going to get 156 or a 165 or even a 175, it's all now about Technique and how to deal with a Very Different Lane. I stayed with the Reactive Storm Black Cherry and Storm Mix. Ebonite just sat and chilled. I go to SPINS mostly and AMF people get mad because their Lanes at Rt. 19 are mostly for Reactive balls and SPINS has Wet/Dry Lanes. I got a LOT of Play in. I figured it's $200.00 keep playing! No eat, no potty, just stay out there till the end which I did. It was good I got that extra out of the way before starting. If you are a Bowler who Loves Cosmic the way I do, it's a Great Place! A Las Vegas Atmosphere with Las Vegas Pricing. The Games though will be difficult because of the oil pattern. This will make you a Pro in your Bowling Center when you get back home! read more

For as long as I can remember I have loved arcades, maybe it was too many birthday parties at Show Biz pizza. Anyway Zone 28 has been on my radar to try for awhile now. So when I found myself in Pittsburgh for a few days it was a no brainer that I was going. Zone 28 is a very good Arcade, they have all the popular ticket games, your pop the lock, tower of tickets, big bass wheel, and many others. They also have a few coin pushers, claw machines, regular arcade games and skeeball. I went on a Wednesday, that is the half price day so all the games were very cheap, cheaper than you would find at the other local arcades. Everything was in the $.25 to $1 range. The prize selection was decent, they have the nice prizes you can save up for and plenty of prizes for the kids. They could have used a few more midrange prizes, there was not much selection in that range. My only real complaint was with the staff working there, you could tell that they needed a few more people working, there was only one kid manning the prize area and he was overwhelmed with kids. Also the plush selection in the claw machines could use some more variety. Overall a very good arcade that if I am in Pittsburgh again I will be going back to. read more

I am really surprised to see this place having such a low rating on Yelp. Went last night after a hockey tournament with a group of 4 adults and 5 kids and was blown away by the service, food, beverages, arcade, and bowling! It was very affordable and the food/drink portions were huge. Server was attentive, manager behind the bowling counter went the extra mile to help us out as we did not know how the food buzzers worked, it was just an overall great experience. Wasn't sure how great it was going to be since it was so busy but they had it together. We will DEFINITELY return in the future! read more

Leaving this review because of the bartenders at Endzone. Went up to the bar on a 04/01/2023, a Saturday night (which is busy, I understand that). However, I waited 10 minutes without even being acknowledged by the two young women working at the bar (both Caucasian, one taller and blonde; one short with black hair in a ponytail, and what appeared to be a bad tan). The setup was very disorganized so I couldn't tell who was ahead of me. When the one with dark hair finally asked what I wanted, I told her what beer I wanted and that I was there for 10 minutes (admittedly I should've said 10 minutes without any ACKNOWLEDGEMENT whatsoever). What really got me was how she reacted. She said "you made a comment after your order; what was it?" And I repeated myself. Then she proceeded to look me in the eye and talk back about how many people were in line. Needless to say, I wasn't going to pay for anything that might contribute to her paycheck, so I left. Zone 28 management, is this acceptable to you? For your bartenders to ignore customers and then talk back to them when they call said bartenders on it? I'll be telling this to everybody who asks me about Zone 28. Black hair shorty needs to be fired. read more

Was just at zone 28 tonight and i am very disappointed with how the evening went. We got there and they stated a wait, fine no problem put our names in and went to have dinner at rail house restaurant. We got the call that our lane was ready and we were trying to get our bill from the restaurant. When we got to the lane it was we were bowling about 10 minutes and we look up at the time clock and 23 minutes left!!! There is no way that the timer started when we hit start on the game. The game timer should start when we hit start. Zone 28 is just using the time that your buzzer goes off for the lane that is available. Probably won't go back we didn't even get through our game read more

The kids like this place and that's the only reason we visit. The bowling alley is okay. The arcade games are okay as well. The restaurant is sub par with uninspiring food and lackluster service. On President's Day, we stopped in to play some games and on the ticket kiosks where you purchase your game cards, they had a flyer for a special that said if you buy $20 on a card, you will also get a free game of bowling and a free game of laser tag for each $20 purchased. (See photos) After we purchased $40 worth (we have 2 kids) there was nothing that indicated the free games. So, we went to talk to someone in charge and actually was able to speak to the manager. His response was that the "special" was not available on the cards you purchased at the kiosks and that you had to buy them at the bowling center desk (nothing on the flyer indicated this). I pointed this out and all he said was "sorry"...he refused to give us the free games even though we could prove the purchases. THIS is the reason for the 1 star rating. read more

Stopped by on a whim because a couple of friends and I weren't ready for girls night to end yet when we left dinner, so we decided to go bowling. Lanes can be purchased by the hour, and that includes shoe rental. We had a great time bowling and playing games. It definitely seems like Zone 28 has something for everyone-- food, bowling, escape rooms, laser tag, and arcade games/prizes. The only problem we ran into was that we were assigned a waitress while we were bowling. She said she'd check back in with us, but she didn't come back. About halfway through our bowling session one of my friends went to order some food for us herself, and the waitress intercepted her and told her she wasn't allowed to do that because we had to order through her. She didn't come back to our lane for another 10 or 15 minutes after that, either-- but she did greet the lane next to ours, who appeared to be regulars. We ultimately didn't order anything because we were too far along in our game and service up to that point hadn't been prompt-- didn't seem worth it. read more

My girlfriend and I came here on a Saturday night this past march, right before Covid 19 became a pandemic and the state was ordered to quarantine. We had her two kids with us, ages 7 and 10. We didn't reserve a lane beforehand but decided to try our luck. A two hour wait. Understandable. It was a Saturday night, after all. There seemed to be plenty to do there while we waited, so we went over to the restaurant to have some dinner. Terrible. We walked into a place that was 2/3 full and was clearly understaffed. I saw two, maybe three servers running around trying to take care of all the seated customers, while the tables that were empty were just sitting there with dirty dishes all over them. I don't know if someone had called off that night or if whoever made that work schedule just didn't schedule appropriately for a weekend. I didn't see anyone who looked like they might be a manager, or anyone else working in the dining room. We were briefly greeted by one of the servers, but then she hurriedly went back to trying to take care of the seated customers. No tables were open to sit since they were still dirty from the previous customer, so after 10 minutes, we walked out and decided to let the kids play some games. The games are really overpriced, and the arcade area was packed. Kids running around everywhere screaming, parents looking annoyed by how much this is costing them, and again...employees looking overworked and understaffed. The air hockey table was the most reasonably priced game there and kept the kids occupied for a solid 45 minutes. They do love competing against each other. It's a brother/older sister rivalry. After a good two hours, we cashed in the kids tickets for their prizes at the counter and decided to go to Bob Evans for dinner, right down the street. About 25 minutes later we get a call from the ally that our lane was finally ready. By that time, we were in the middle of dinner and we had lost interest in bowling there. I would give the place zero stars if that was an option. Just a horrible overall experience from the place. We made the best out of it and the kids were mostly satisfied. However, for bowling there are much better options in Pittsburgh. read more

So, we had one of our kids' birthday parties here a few weeks back, and have to say that it was the best birthday party experience we have had in town, and we have pretty much tried them all. We were greeted by our hostess immediately upon arrival, and she made sure that everyone was well taken care of. The pizza we had ordered from them was actually pretty good for a bowling alley kitchen, and there were no leftovers. You do have to bring your own birthday cake, but there is a superb bakery across the river, so no worries. The bowling was perfect for the kids - they have bumpers and also have a ramp for the littlest kids, so everyone is able to have lots of fun. Our hostess set up the computers, so it was very, very easy to have fun - we didn't have to worry about the details, and everyone was able to just enjoy it. The per-person cost also includes $5 on one of their cards, so the kids can enjoy the arcade / games for a little bit after the bowling and party wraps up. Luckily, we didn't meet up with the ruffians and cutpurses others have described - didn't see anyone matching that description, just people running around and having fun. Apparently, we survived the assault of the fried foods too - perhaps they will start having VIP bottle service with truffled foie gras. Will definitely be back for other parties for our kids, especially since the service was so helpful and made our experience truly wonderful. read more

My son turned 10 and it was a big deal to us and those around him. We surprised him all day. Kept asking what he wanted and he kept saying " idk; my friends to come over, have a party " ; we kept asking like well who, what time do you want (although he chose 1) we knew that couldn't happen. Also because of school and parents work schedule etc. our party was amazing from start to finish!! I highly recommend, -Alyssa Shento! (Her last name is added because I wasn't sure about another employee having that name and she deserves recognition). Seriously, as a hairdresser/ barber and being that I work customer service and client related jobs, even waitressing I get it... this woman was beyond a hustler! She worked, she was friendly, she moved, she was so kind to EVERYONE, even those who were not from the party. Seriously 10 out of 10 for her. To the point we weren't ready for pizza and I told just leave it there it's fine, I came running back because pop has spilled; and here pizza gone (back in the oven) Alyssa here she is very attentive!! Brought the pizza back out later! Wow! Also she helped a busy mother of three (me) and my husband so much! Words wouldn't be enough to describe our experience tonight. Wow I already loved zone 28 (Funfest or whatever you people outside the walls of this place call it!) but now after book my first party there and my kids having a good time along with 27 people total who totally enjoyed themselves.. we just want to say thank you so so much. We are so grateful! My Son and I were in town for a hockey tournament and went to Zone 28 to pass time in between games. Upon arriving we were warmly welcomed by the lady at the front desk (Michelle) she engaged in some friendly conversation and offered suggestions to make the most of our time/money. Upon leaving she thanked us for coming and asked if we had a good time, in which we definitely did! it's that kind of service that keeps customers coming back. We will absolutely visit again next time we are in town. read more

Food Review : Totally inedible. Even knowing this would be standard bar fare I'm amazed at how much worse it was than we thought. The service was sooo slow. Waitress never came to the table, despite being a table of 11. What you need to know: - Guacamole was served frozen in the center. Strange solid green that's obviously mass produced and shipped frozen. Cheap chips - Long black hairs in the fries - Wings super small, tasteless - Food served on styrofoam, not only weird for a sit down but also horrible for the environment. Came for Late Night bowling because it was $17 for bowling and shoes from 11pm-2am. We were met with a dirty, hot venue, with sub-par service and sensory-overload bowling. After waiting for a server for over an hour to come to our table, and watching other lanes be served, my boyfriend went up to the bar in hopes to have better service. Unfortunately, the bartender passed by him for larger groups. We ended up only drinking water from the complimentary vats sitting around the venue. We just had our bachelor/bachelorette party here and it was so good! We had to book 15 minimum and only had 13 but we got to keep the extra drink tickets and game cards!! I've had bad pizza at bowling alleys and this pizza was great. they also provided salad and breadsticks. We got two hours of bowling. Afterward we wanted to take photos and they allowed us to use a room to do this and even took photos for us when we asked for help. They were so accommodating. The arcade is amazing for being part of a bowling alley! Drink prices weren't bad at all either. I'm one happy bride! and we will definitely be back.
