This light show requires purchasing tickets online and choosing a date and time slot so this is not for the spontaneous! The confirmation email was very clear about instructions, how to arrive, etc. And yet, we still saw several cars with headlights on (you turn them off after driving in). We picked the first time slot of 6 pm so there wasn't any traffic and all the staff make it very easy and clear to enter safely. It took us about 30 minutes to drive through all the light displays and it was magical. There are themed neighborhoods of lights like elves, north pole animals, dinosaurs, garden flowers, and several beautiful arches of lights. It was nice to see so many families with young adults enjoy it, so I think it is for all ages. If the weather isn't bad, you can have your kids stick them selves out of moon roof and windows. There are open restrooms at entrance and at the end. Very family friendly and affordable ($30 per vehicle). Cozy pajamas and blankets optional!

We lined up at our 730pm check-in time and waited 35 minutes in the cold and were only halfway through the line. We left because it would have been another 25-35 more minutes to get through the line. However, the staff was great and the carnival games were fun. Nice to have all of the thoughtful decorations as well, our child loved playing with all of the pumpkins.

This patch is cute…read more The haunted trail costs $15 per person and there are scheduled appointment times to go in, however the line backs up and you have to wait at least 30 minutes past your appointment time before entering. We did not enter the trail until 720pm, and that is after getting in line at 640pm. Just be aware. Which is fine, my family had fun and the actors inside are funny and well rehearsed. However, since we waited so long, we got out of the trail around 750pm. My kid wanted to play the carnival games, which close at 8pm, so we bought some tickets to play, and were out to the carnival by 752pm, they had already taken everything down and had only a few simple games still up. My kid was bummed, but I figured since there were no refunds, I could go back and get a snack instead with my tickets. I was denied and told to come back next week to redeem the tickets. I know this is all for a good cause and it really isn't too big of a deal, but it is silly that I literally bought the tickets within a minute and then walked back after the carnival being closed and then denied to even use the tickets on anything else and then told to come back next week. They were told not to sell any tickets since they were closing up the carnival early, but I guess it wasn't communicated well. I guess we will be back to use up the tickets next weekend...?

Part of the race was on a paved trailed and the best part of the race for me was the unpaved trail that took me up and over to the reservoir. This race was a relatively small race with only about 100-150 runners. Pros: Pre race packet pick up Tech T's Race started on time Well stock aide stations Friendly crew Course was marked with pink ribbons to keep runners on course Cons: Trail was not marked with mileage markers. This made it difficult to know at what mile I was at through out the race.

The Boogie fest is presented as a music event, and the music this past weekend was definitely a highlight when we visited on Sunday morning. Several different stages spaced out nicely, and great communication online about the set times and locations for each of the bands performing throughout the two-day celebration. We especially enjoyed the sounds of the keyboard and vocals by Connor Morrison, as he filled the air with classic songs like Brown Eyed Girl and Elton John faves. We also found some seats near the central stage where The Jukebox Boyz put on a lively show for the crowd, with their unique renditions of awesome tunes including Come Together by The Beatles, Sweet Home Alabama, (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, and Billy Joel's My Life, We were only there for a couple of hours, but the music was great! Food options, on the other hand, were limited. We found mostly the typical fried food stands, along with multiple vendors selling sweets (mini donuts, churros, beignets). I tried some chocolate beignets from the "More to Life" dessert stand, and they were were so yummy! Taste and texture were satisfying. I had to get coffee at one of a local cafe, cuz there were no vendors at the event selling my preferred iced beverage. There was definitely beer and wine being sold on site though. While there wasn't much variety in food offerings, we were able to grab some lumpia and a teriyaki chicken & veggie bowl from one of the booths for lunch, and it was pretty good. In addition, merchandise vendors and businesses were selling lots of unique stuff, like totes with charming designs, music equipment, and various handmade products. It didn't take long to explore the various tents while strolling along the festival grounds. We even tried free samples of brisket chips, checked out the caricature artists, and adored the cute kittens of Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority. Another laid back and free community event... nothing extraordinary about it, but we appreciated our time here and the organizers who made it all possible.

The team is a family run operation with Jason being the head coach (also a semi-pro racer) and Maria handling all the logistics. I booked an arrive & drive session for their 100cc kart at Sonoma Raceway and the entire experience far exceeded my expectations. The kart was in immaculate condition and fine tuned specifically to my build; I met with them a week in advance to do measurements to ensure proper fitment, which was a first for me. Jason and his crew were giving me solid advice throughout the day, answered all my questions, and even gave in-depth guidance on taking the next steps with purchasing my own kart. You can absolutely see the care and passion they have for this sport and how they want to help you progress into a better driver. Although their main focus is driver development through SIM training, they are truly devoted to helping you grow as a driver and ensure you have a fun time.

The train ride is less than 10 minutes with no cover so we brought our hats. It's a quick ride and you pass by the parking lot and a park. My girls enjoyed it. After we played by the nearby park. There is a bathroom close to the train ticket booth and lots of tables to enjoy a snack or even lunch. They were just starting the grill to cook the food for lunch but our girls were hungry so we left to get food elsewhere.

Very relaxing ride that takes about 10 minutes. All seats are uncovered so make sure to bring your hat or sunscreen. Right next to the train is an antique carousel, tickets are also $5 per person. The ride lasts relatively longer than the average carousel ride so I feel like you get your money's worth. Billy Jones Railroad is located within a larger park so there are several playgrounds and lots of open, grassy picnic areas or picnic tables to enjoy some lunch or snacks outside.

I volunteered at the Campbell Wine Walk on April 23. I did not know about this yearly event till…read morethis year. I generally volunteer in a few cities around Campbell as well and this was the most organized one so far! The check in line was moving smoothly, like an assembly line with quite a few volunteers helping at every stage - ID check, wrist band, handing out glasses and maps. People were able to quickly pick up their glasses and move on to tastings. There were tickets for sale at the event as well. Once the rush of people was over, the volunteers were able to go taste, if they wanted to. There were 29 stations in all and some very good wineries - local as well as well known names, some from as far as Morgan Hill. Since the downtown area is not very large, a few blocks long, we were able to walk all along the street and taste wine, get food as needed since there are plenty of restaurants. It was a beautiful night. There was quiet a crowd for a Thursday night, not only were there people who were on the wine walk but people who were at the various restaurants. Some of the shops were open and had stations for tasting. There was live music in several areas. There is plenty of parking along the side streets and the parking garages, al within walking distance. I would highly recommend and can't wait for the next wine walk that Downtown Campbell hosts!

A great excuse to walk the downtown strip of Campbell, stopping to sample wines from and array of…read morewineries, many of them local to Los Gatos, Morgan Hill, Santa Cruz, etc. While I have worked in the Campbell area for almost four years, this was my first time walking into the storefronts for the sample. Downtown clothing, gift shops, restaurants, salons, and even the funeral home participated! (A plug to Ritual Salon for providing personal wine walk strategy, and being pioneers with the photo booth idea). It was enjoyable socializing and snacking along the way, however I was told that previous events had better food selections. Seems that this year, the event participants were forced to serve pre-packaged food! What a shame. Most likely due to an overly-litigious wine-walker of the past. I will do the event again, however only if the food is quality, catered fare.

Well attended event!…read more Had a blast at Cambell's Oktoberfest and was impressed by all of the local vendors and business owners who were celebrating in showcasing their businesses with the community. Such a smart way to highlight the hard-working business owners in in the neighborhood. Parking is a little tricky, so be prepared to circle a few times to find a spot or come early. Hats off to the downtown Cambell Chamber of Commerce for throwing such a wonderful event.

We did wish that they had more seating throughout the event. Lots of different local musicians playing on different stages. There is a 5/10k race prior to the start of the event. We signed up for this race and enjoyed our run. The course is out and back and was run on a paved trail. They provided snacks prior to the start of the race and Square Pizza Guys were handing out free pizza sqaures after the race. We will definitely attend these events next year!
